The one rule that was not supposed to be broken was to say what you were. That was something that was not taken lightly and Arnoldo had somehow thought that it was a good idea to introduce the Watsons to the town.
It can't be a matter that was going to be taken lightly by the committee members. He had done something wrong and according to the rules he deserved to be punished.
"Why did you call us for this meeting Edmund ?", asked the priest as he stood up.
"Thank you for asking, now as you all know we were here a couple of weeks ago and we talked about some things", said Edmund as he took in a deep breath.
"I promised that we will do anything stupid but then again I don't know why Mateo and his body guest keep testing is ", he said as he looked at Mateo.
"The other day he went to the shelter where the vampire resides now and told them to leave because they did not own that place.", he said scoffing.
"I over loomed it and we let it go. If I had wanted to hurt them that would be my perfect chance you know they messed up and stepped into our territory ", said Arnoldo.
"Now tell me why the other day am walking around and a woman tells me that she heard I am an outcast?", Edmund asks them.
The leaders all turned to look at Mateo and Arnaldo. Keeping nature a secret was something that they had both agreed on so that all parties would be safe.
Letting people know that nature was going to put people in danger and no one wanted that.
"Mateo did you know about this ?", the priest asked Mateo.
"No I did not ", Mateo said.
Of course, Mateo would try and save himself.
"How is that possible when you are his superior ?", the priest asked him.
"He only does things that you asked him to do. If they mentioned it you were supposed to say no not just assume it. You know this is bad for you guys.", the priest said as he looked around.
Arnoldo did not know the magnitude of what he had done. To him, it had just been games and he didn't know that there were going to be consequences.
Mateo wondered what was happening to him. He has not been able to keep his head on straight since the Watson brothers came back.
It's like every time he saw them he wanted to do smoothing to get them away. And every time he did not, not something it seemed like he was the only person who got in trouble.
"I think all of us here agree that this is a mistake right? We can't be making people turn their attention to us. We will start to get hunted and don't think that nothing will be done.", said one of the leaders.
Edmund and his siblings had been in town for a couple of weeks but they had already turned things around for everyone. It's like everywhere that they went trouble followed them.
Katelyn was still at the cafeteria talking to Erin. She had nowhere to go and Erin did not have any customers to serve.
The only customer she had was Katelyn who had stayed there for over three hours.
"Why do you even work here there is no one to sell to ?", Katelyn asked Erin.
"I need the money to pay my student loans and the money I get from the hospital isn't enough to lay the loans and my expenditure", Erin answered her.
"Oohhh that makes sense ", said Katelyn.
"So and what do you do ?", Erin asked her.
"I want to enroll in school and study medicine. It's the first time in life that I can make choices for myself without someone thinking they know what's best for me" said Katelyn.
"Do your brothers always tell you what not to do ?", Erin asked her.
"No not them my dad ", Katelyn said.
"Oooh did he not come with you guys ?", Erin asked her.
"No he is dead that's why we came here ", Katelyn said.
"Am sorry to hear that "said Erin.
"No don't be it's for the better, he made our lives miserable.", said Katelyn.
Erin wondered what the old man would have done to make his children hate him the way they did. Most people always wished that they could have their parents around.
Erin always wished that her parents were still alive and there were nights when she woke up from a dream where the three of them had been happy.
But it was just a stupid dream. Reminding her every second that yet again she was all alone.
"Oooohhh okay, so what is it like having a big brother, I have always wanted a sibling but am alone ?", asked Erin.
"They are like two big bullies who are always petering you to do things that you don't want but because they are your brother you have to do it ", she said looking annoyed.
"I love them though I would not trade them for anything. They are my best friends and every time I have ever needed them they have always been there for me without question", she said smiling.
They may have not liked each other but they loved each other. They only had each other so there was no reason to turn their back on them.
They were the only people she knew that would never judge her for anything that she did. It was then that she realized how important they were to him.
"That sounds amazing ", said Erin.
"Yes it does, I think it's time for me to go I'll be late. You'll come to the house tonight right?", Katelyn asked her.
"I don't know are you sure it won't be a bother ?", Erin asked her looking worried. If there was one thing she did not want to be was a burden to anyone.
"No don't be silly I'll be glad to have you over and don't worry about my brother they don't even notice when am not around.", she said.
"Okay then I guess I will come over but you have to come to get me from the hospital ", said Erin.
"Sure why not, bye ", said Katelyn as he kissed Erin's cheek and left.
