Part 12: The ugly truth.

I opened up my eyes, and it was morning. I turned my head to my right side and watch Aoi-chan gaining consciousness. She blink her eyes a few times and suddenly awake.

"Aoi-chan. We did it." I say in my morning voice. She looked at my hands and see that I'm holding a jar.

"Quickly. We need to put it back." Aoi-chan gets off the bed and so am I. We head straight to the emergency room, Hanabi's condition was a lot more stable. Kimura-san stayed all night with Hanabi.

"Kimura-san, we've got her soul back," I say opening the door.

"Quickly!" I stand beside Hanabi and open the jar beside her. A cloud of white smoke came out from the jar and enter Hanabi's body, we waited for a few seconds.

"Hanabi?" I put down the jar and hold my little sister's body. She started to heal and the burn that I got from yesterday begin to close up. From a cold hand, now it's warmer. Her pale skin starting to change and she feels a lot warmer. Kimura-san takes his stethoscope and suddenly her heart rate begins to pump back. Even the monitor shows good progress.

"She's fine," says Kimura-san. I fall on my kneel when I heard the news. My whole body was shaking and I let out a loud cry. It was scary to go thru the process and it was a big relief when everything turns up fine.

"My head..." Hanabi started to wake up and she opened her eyes slowly. I stand up slowly and hug her tight.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Nothing happens. You're safe now." I hold her tight in my arms. Granny showed up a bit late and I told Hanabi, kimura, Aoi-chan, and Granny about everything over breakfast. Aoi-chan passed out during the critical moment. After we finished our breakfast, I asked for Granny's time. She agreed and we seat in her bedroom.

"Granny, I wasn't fully told you the truth. I think it's best if I talked with you in private." I swallow my saliva and start telling her the extended length that I took to save both Aoi and Hanabi.

"You made a deal with the soul guardian?!" Granny scolded me for a few minutes.

"I know it's a bad deal but I need to save them," I say in a lower voice.

"Hikari! Do you have the slightest idea what will happen to you?"

"I don't."

"Soul guardian is another entity from a different rank. If you decided to join them, everything will be gone. Your family, friends, and even your memories will disappear from you. The world will not remember you as you don't even exist in this life." Explained Granny. She shook her head and tried to find a way to save my soul.

"Granny, is that mean I won't remember you at all?"

"Yes, child. You will cut loose all your attachments from this world and live in a different world."

"I guess that's the price I need to pay to save two souls." I know my decision is stupid but I don't have any choice.

"We need to find a way to break the deal." said granny. She stands up and opens one of her cabinets, taking out an old book. She placed it on her table and start looking for an answer.

"Granny. What's that?"

"This is the book record of the past. If we need to find an answer, we need to learn about the past." Granny open the book page one by one.

"The book was written in Spanish. I don't even understand it."

"Of course, you don't understand it. This book was written by our ancestors. You may see it as nothing but if you look closer, it will change into kanji." Says Granny.

Of course, I tried to read it but it was useless to me. I don't understand it at all. But Granny seems to understand it pretty well.

"Here's one."

"What does it say?" I asked.

"The soul traveler or soul walker is rare and whoever lucky enough able to live in a different world. A soul traveler is only born every 500 hundred years in the human or spiritual world. Soul travelers have the blessing from both sides of light and dark."

"Light and dark? You mean God and devil?"

"Yes, child. A soul traveler could travel to hell and heaven, they can live, learn and gain knowledge from both sides of the world. That explains why all the creature wants you. They want your soul." said Granny. She closed the book and let out a sign.

"There's nothing in here about soul guardian. I'm afraid I can't help you in the future. But remember this, you are special and you shouldn't let anyone corrupt your soul. Find your inner strength and take control of your life."

"Thank you, granny. I will remember it." We head out to the main living room where Aoi-chan and Hanabi chilling.

"Is everything okay?" asked Hanabi.

"Yes. Everything is just fine." I answered. I walked back to them and we just rested before Kimura-san sent us back home. The secret will be kept until I am gone, Granny promised to keep it a secret. I even wrote down my experiences and my deal with the soul guardian.

"Kimura-san, Aoi-chan. Thank you for sending us home. I see you guys again." I waves them goodbye and headed back to my house.

Hanabi looked at me with a strange look.

"What?" I asked.

"You keeping a secret aren't you?" She always hit the bullseyes.

"No. Why must I keep a secret from you?" I tried to turn my focus on the doorknob and enter the house like it was nothing.

"If you need me, I'm here for you Nee-san." Hanabi walks straight to her room. Her words never failed to warm my heart, I wipe off my tears and enter the living room.

"Hi, mom! We're back!" as for my state, I want to create and appreciate my parents more than before, it's my last chance before I leave them behind. Nothing matter most than having them by my side and being able to save them is my greatest joy.

"How was your girls' night party?" asked mom.

"It was fun~"

"That's good. I'm glad you're having fun with them." I smiled at Mom and help her with the house chores.
