Chapter 65 Dark Dimension
Although the Ancient One did not personally teach Leon about magic, she lent him the magic books she had collected and organized over the years.
I must mention that those magic books still hold some secrets.
Unbeknownst to Leon, he became deeply engrossed in them because he discovered that Kamar-Taj's magic was intricate, delving extensively into the realms of mind and the soul.
For instance, one evening, Leon managed to grasp the technique of astral projection of the soul.
Indeed, Mordo had selected numerous books for him, assuming he would be occupied reading well into the night.
Yet, little did anyone imagine that Leon possessed superhuman learning abilities. He could not only absorb ten pages at a glance but also retain and comprehend the content. His aptitude for understanding surpassed that of ordinary individuals.
Consequently, he not only transcribed the contents of those books but also fully internalized the recorded knowledge.
At that moment, Leon endeavored to separate his consciousness from his physical form and entered the unique state of soul astral projection.
Behind him lay Leon's motionless body on the bed, while his soul emanated a vibrant, multicolored brilliance, standing erect in a colossal ten-meter form.
He now embodied the appearance and stature of Doomsday, carrying along with his soul the Heart of the Universe and the complete set of Infinity Stones from the main universe comic world, gifts previously obtained from OAA.
This amounted to a tremendous units of power intricately bound to his soul. Unfortunately, the many powerful forces from the DC universe remained beyond his reach while he was in Marvel World.
Suspended in front of the window, Leon gazed ahead, then abruptly propelled himself forward, piercing into a distinct realm.
That realm was the Dark Dimension—a domain devoid of physical matter, existing solely as a realm of spirituality.
This world emanated a luminous and surreal quality, virtually impossible to capture in words.
Leon felt invigorated, expanding his consciousness to encompass everything within this extraordinary world.
He even made a discovery: the soul could establish a connection with this realm, channeling power from the Dark Dimension to augment his own abilities.
Unbeknownst to Leon, this action triggered an awakening—an encounter with an entity hitherto dormant.
This entity was a dark master of Dark Dimension, nearly the size of Earth itself.
Upon sensing Leon's presence, this colossal being experienced a mixture of astonishment and delight. Swiftly morphing into a shadowy form, it closed the distance with remarkable speed.
"The essence of Earth is palpable. Someone has breached the Dark Dimension and is assimilating its power. By exploiting this breakthrough, I could devour the Earth," the dark entity exulted in a euphoric roar. It hastened to Leon's location.
Opening his eyes, Leon discerned a notable shift in his surroundings.
Sometime unnoticed, he had become ensnared within a shroud of darkness, surrounded by looming figures resembling heads but lacking human semblance.
"Greetings. I am Dormammu, the sovereign of shadows. I can bestow upon you a great power, hahaha," revealed to him as Dormammu.
In the eyes of Dormammu, despite Leon's current manifestation as Doomsday, his ten-meter stature appeared diminutive. Dormammu, on the other hand, rivaled the Earth's size.
As a ruler of shadows, Dormammu commanded dominion over a realm of darkness even more expansive.
Hence, Dormammu underestimated Leon, presuming he would shy away from confronting him. This misconception fueled Dormammu's advance.
In this instant, a resplendent golden energy surged from below, transforming into a razor-edged aperture that shattered the encircling darkness.
It was the Ancient One, having sensed Dormammu's ominous presence, she intervened in the nick of time. Armed with a makeshift weapon—a folded fan—she launched a counteroffensive.
Nonetheless, as the Ancient One witnessed Leon's current form, a look of bewilderment crept across her face.
She swiftly regained her composure and urgently shouted, "Return here at once!"
The Ancient One's eyes betrayed her anxiety, well aware of the perilous nature of the present circumstance. Should Dormammu establish a connection with Leon's spirit, Dormammu's will could infiltrate Leon's very soul and body. This might lead to Dormammu's control over Leon, even allowing Dormammu to breach Earth through this connection.
However, Leon didn't glance back, his gaze unwaveringly fixed upon the looming figure of Dormammu before him.
Ancient One's unease grew; could it be that Leon had already succumbed to Dormammu's influence?
It wasn't as if she underestimated Leon's potential; on the contrary, she recognized the latent power within him.
Yet, Ancient One comprehended all too well that Leon's might was anchored in his physical form, and his magical prowess remained rudimentary.
At best, he was but an apprentice in the arcane arts.
Hence, Ancient One's concern centered on whether Dormammu had ensnared Leon under his sway.
Unknown to Dormammu, time hadn't afforded him the chance to seize control of Leon.
Nonetheless, this was inconsequential now; Ancient One's intervention had come too late. Dormammu had already drawn close to Leon. With a further leap, Dormammu's formidable mental energy was poised to shatter Leon's spirit, potentially obliterating his very soul.
This was the course Dormammu had plotted and commenced, propelling himself at Leon with unwavering intent.
Throughout, Leon remained immobile, simulating a demeanor of fear or foolishness. Only when Dormammu was mere moments from colliding did Leon's thoughts turn wry: "Devouring such potent spiritual energy, could it truly become mine?"
Dormammu was taken aback, staring at Leon with incredulity. Was he a simpleton? He was the sovereign of darkness, after all.
Undeterred by such concerns, Dormammu pressed on. And so, he careened into Leon's form.
The very calamity Ancient One had dreaded was unfolding—her eyes instinctively shut as she contemplated her next move, grappling for a strategy to counter Dormammu's assault.
Yet, at that precise juncture, Dormammu emitted a mournful roar: "What is this? Hold on, why is your soul so potent? How does your spiritual strength exceed the entire Dark Dimension I've encountered? Who are you? Who? What?"
Dormammu, the one who had actively ventured into Leon's soul, was now writhing. He yearned to exit, desperately striving to break free from Leon's grasp.
What he witnessed within Leon's spirit and soul defied all logic, leaving Dormammu astounded.
Meanwhile, Leon couldn't help but sneer inwardly. Soul Gem and Mind Gem—each bolstered his soul's might and mind dominion respectively. Dormammu's failure to anticipate this outcome was laughable.
And there was the Heart of the Universe.
Dormammu's foolish rush led to a stark reality—a rabbit lunging into a snare.
A sly smile touched Leon's lips as his gaze shifted into the distance.
Dormammu's consciousness persisted, but what Leon sought was the entire expanse of Dormammu's dark dimension.
"Bring it to me," Leon beckoned, his hands outstretched as if pulling an invisible thread.
And behold, the limitless realm of darkness surged forth, converging upon Leon before ultimately melding with his very soul.
A belch escaped Leon's lips, as if he had indulged in a lavish feast.
Dormammu's voice faded into silence.
Below, Ancient One watched in astonishment.
Dormammu—the most formidable adversary she had confronted over the years—had been consumed by Leon?
"What have you done?" Ancient One remained incredulous to the end. Leon had devoured Dormammu?
