Chapter 63 Master-Apprentice

After Leon finally agreed to become an apostle to the two great gods, OAA and The Presence, they left with satisfaction.

Then, Leon gazed at Krypton on the other side of the gate once more. Time was still frozen, and he observed the moment when Krypton was on the brink of destruction. He saw the two Krypton spaceships fleeing his hometown, one after the other, and he closed his eyes in anguish.

"Wait a minute." Suddenly, Leon opened his eyes again, as he noticed a peculiar spacecraft parked in the sky near Krypton's imminent destruction.

At first, Leon thought the spacecraft belonged to Krypton, but it seemed different now. The spaceship had a distinct style, and it looked colossal.

With a curious gaze, Leon realized that the spaceship was mining something from Krypton. To his surprise, it wasn't just random resources; it was actually excavating an ancient city known as Kandor City, which existed as early as 100,000 years ago.

Moreover, Kandor City was the main territory of the El family, formerly under Leon's rule. Even 250,000 years ago, it was home to the temple of the Kryptonian God Rao.

The spaceship had shrunk the entire city and stored it in a glass bottle. This sight brought Leon some comfort, as he realized that the origin of Krypton was being preserved, and he hadn't acted recklessly.

As Leon pondered this, he remembered the spaceship's appearance and decided that he might encounter it again in the future.

Closing the golden circle's space door, Leon looked at the image opposite the door, then reopened the door leading to Tony's house. Inside, he found Tony and Pepper busy and happily immersed in their own world in the kitchen, and he didn't want to disturb them.

Leon had to change his target and decided to locate Natasha Romanoff. He discovered that she was resting at home, finally enjoying a rare day off and getting a good night's sleep.

With his decision made, time resumed its flow. The Ancient One blinked, sensing something vaguely, but unable to pinpoint it precisely. Even with the Time Gem, her sensitivity to the flow of time was not enough to detect the interference caused by the actions of all-knowing and omnipotent beings.

As Leon returned to his human form, the Ancient One glanced at him and then turned her attention to Natasha Romanoff's sleeping face. She shook her head in disbelief at the chaotic situation.

Natasha Romanoff, being an elite agent, woke up abruptly, sensing the presence coming through the portal. With a pistol in hand, she sat up and fired three shots at Leon. She had recognized him long After time resumed its flow, but she chose to shoot deliberately.

It was an obvious excuse since he had seen Natasha resting when time was stopped, but he chose not to reveal that fact.

Rolling her eyes, Natasha sensed that the situation seemed peculiar, but she decided not to inquire further. Instead, she seized on Leon's words and asked, "So, you're willing to help me? Why don't you join S.H...?"

"Shh." Leon promptly closed the space door with the Sling Ring.

On the other side, Natasha grabbed a pillow and angrily smashed it at the door. She found Leon's behavior quite irritating.

Leon turned his head, keeping a straight face, and put the Sling Ring in his pocket.

The Ancient One observed silently without saying anything. Although the Sling Ring had magical power, its activation depended on the magician's abilities. Without magical potential, the Sling Ring would be useless.

"How was it? Do I have what it takes to do magic?" Leon didn't forget his second purpose. Along with observing the Time Gem, he wanted to know if he could learn magic.

The strength of Kryptonians was unquestionable on the physical side, but they lacked magical abilities to resist supernatural threats. If he could learn magic, it would be a useful additional skill for future encounters with formidable foes.

Ancient One nodded, "You do have, and they far surpass my expectations."

Even Doctor Strange, considered the best of the Sorcerer Supreme, didn't exhibit such aptitude initially.

Leon's success on his first attempt to access the DC universe after was truly remarkable. It was likely linked to his unwavering belief in magic, in contrast to Strange, who initially doubted himself and sought to heal his hands.

"Since I can do magical stiff, right?, Because I plan to stay here and learn magic," Leon declared, not treating himself as an outsider at all.

This audacious familiarity caused Ancient One to roll her eyes, amused and irritated. She had never encountered such a spirited and self-confident individual before.

Nevertheless, Ancient One didn't refuse. Instead, she asked the library manager nearby to prepare a room for him.

As Ancient One prepared to leave, Leon questioned, "Won't you teach me?"

Ancient One looked at him strangely, "Didn't you say you wouldn't accept me as your teacher?"

That meant she wouldn't teach him directly.

"Master," Leon immediately folded his hands and bowed.

He believed that in the pursuit of knowledge, having a teacher was essential. So, he took the opportunity to ask Ancient One to be his mentor and learn the magic of Kamar-Taj and Ancient One as quickly as possible.

Ancient One rubbed her temples, starting to feel a headache, as she realized her mistake in not turning him away earlier.
