Chapter 62 Strength in Self

Chapter 62 Strength in Self

Facing Leon's anger, OAA and The Presence didn't seem to care; instead, they wore smiles, as if they had anticipated his outburst.

No wonder Leon was upset. After experiencing the divine perspective just now, he realized that the laws governing the two universes were entirely different. This meant that many laws from the Marvel universe were incompatible with those of the DC universe.

For instance, comparing The Flash from DC with Quicksilver from Marvel, The Flash's speed had to be superior since he could move at the speed of light due to the Speed Force, whereas Quicksilver was generally believed to only reach the speed of sound. However, it should be noted that Quicksilver's speed derived from his status as a Mutant, whereas The Flash gained his abilities from the Speed Force, which was unique to the DC universe. If The Flash were to come to the Marvel universe, where there is no speed force, he would be no match for Quicksilver.

Just like Leon, when he came from DC to Marvel, he relied on his own powers, just like Quicksilver relied on his own abilities when he came to the DC universe.

But now?

The powers he had obtained might not be usable. It was a risk.

Now, in the presence of these two powerful beings and the spatial gate connecting the two universes, he could potentially wield the powers from both universes. However, once that connection was severed, he would only have access to the powers from whichever universe he was in at the time.

"Are you not going to explain?" Leon glared at both of them. He was gonna be working for them, and now he felt deceived. Could he trust them?

OAA glanced at The Presence, adjusting his beard, as if he was worried Leon might try to grab it.

"Don't worry," Presence reassured Leon, "After all, we bestowed these powers upon you, so why not make them truly your own?"

Leon's eyes lit up, as if a blub lit up over his head, but he wasn't entirely certain.

OAA nodded as well and said, "If you rely solely on the strength we've granted you, you might not be able to defeat your opponents. You might even have to face OBA and The Evil Beasts yourself. And we cannot always protect you."

In the end, relying on others was inferior to relying on oneself.

Leon had a realization, "You want me to master these powers?"

"Yes, before the real war start, you must make these powers truly your own. Only then can you be of help to us," both OAA and God nodded, acknowledging Leon's guess.

Leon took a deep breath. The fact that the two great gods were 'training' him without any reservations meant that his enemies were formidable.

OAA sighed softly, "As you've seen before, In one of the alternative timeline OBA even controlled the Hulk, causing him to go berserk in the universe, not only destroying that universe but also ruling over it for ten billion years."

And this was just OBA's attempt. His true goal was to destroy the entire Marvel Multiverse. Only then could he escape the prison of hell.

The Presence added, "Though the DC universe was indeed created by me, with all its concepts and laws stipulated by me, it was born in Overvoid. Overvoid once observed the universe and left behind the original monitors to investigate The Flaw (the DC Comics ) that was when it departed."

Subsequently, the Monitor family was born, and the entire civilization began to flourish.

However, one day, a Monitor discovered that they, along with all life and existence in the entire DC universe, were parasitic-like entities, dependent on Overvoid.

And so, the Monitor finally fell, corrupted by the stories and emotions he discovered inside, transforming into the Anti-Monitor, and changing his name to Mandrakk. He became a formidable threat to the entire DC universe.

However, what Mandrakk failed to comprehend was that Overvoid didn't mind those flaws; he intentionally kept those flaws because the 'story' that unfolded within them was exactly what he had expected.

"Mandrakk has plunged into boundless darkness, and there is an even darker darkness than him. I'm concerned that the Great Darkness (The Evil Beast) will enchant them. At that time, you might even have to carry the Cosmic Armor Superman into battle, and victory may not be guaranteed," The Presence expressed his worry.

With the inability to act himself, The Presence had to place his hopes on Leon. Nevertheless, Leon's enemies could be incredibly terrifying. Hence, both The Presence and OAA spared no effort in bestowing upon Leon such a powerful force and law. The power of the heart of the universe alone could easily wipe out a whole universe, including the Living Tribunal. No matter how transcendent the gods within the universe might be, they would be like mere ashes before the power bestowed by OAA.

Yet, what Leon needed to consider now was not how to rely on these powers, but how to make them truly his own. Only then could he fulfill their hopes.

"Leon, we hope that you can use the power of Marvel to defeat the enemies from DC, and then use the power of DC to defeat the enemies of Marvel. Ultimately, we need your help to gather the power of both worlds and thwart the ambitions of OBA and The Evil Beast."

"It's something only you can do."

It appeared that the two great gods genuinely favored Leon, even stating that only he could accomplish such a task.

"I can even promise you a condition," suddenly, The Presence took the initiative to say to Leon, "I understand your thoughts and desires to protect your hometown, but you have also witnessed that, regardless of the universe you are in, Krypton's destruction is inevitable and unstoppable."

Leon could only nod silently; indeed, he had witnessed it.

Even though the DC Universe still had an infinite Multiverse, the Krypton planet in every universe could not escape the inevitable destruction.

This sense of powerlessness overwhelmed him.

"When everything is over, I can help you create a universe of your own," God said suddenly, "just like the privilege I granted to Lucifer and Michael."

Since there is a god in the DC universe, there will naturally be a god 2.0 aka god's children's.

Among them, Michael and Lucifer are the most special, as they are already close to omnipotent and omnipresent beings, akin to the half-body of God.

Therefore, God granted them the privilege to carve out their own universes outside of the DC universe.

Michael created his own heaven, and Lucifer created his own hell.

Once their worlds merged, it would almost be equivalent to the DC Universe.

The Presence continued, "You can create a universe of your own to shelter your fellow Kryptonians. There, you can establish your own rules, and Krypton doesn't have to be doomed forever."

Finally, Leon was completely moved.

"I accept this deal. But I know you can give more."

More payment?

"Well, it's an instinctual behavior. You'll get used to it."
