Chapter 27 -Iron Man Debut-

It could be said that Leon arrived at the perfect moment when Obadiah was suffering from headaches and worries due to his gluttonous behavior.

The Large palladium arc reactor was constructed thirty years ago during Howard's time and has remained here for three decades.

Consequently, today he specifically invited a group of individuals referred to as "Brilliant Scientists", but they informed him that recreating a small energy source was impossible. This greatly angered him.

At that moment, Leon arrived to intervene and presented an old-fashioned mobile phone with buttons, which also had a camera function at the time. He searched for a photo and sent it to Obadiah.

Obadiah's eyes brightened, followed by his pupils contracting. He observed a picture of the poorly constructed Ark reactor that Tony had hastily built overnight. Tony was also seen in the image, assisting in its installation onto a pair of steel bodies. It was apparent that Tony's side was nearing completion of the final stage, and his steel battle suit was almost finished.

Anxious, Obadiah exclaimed, "Bring it to me!"

Obadiah stared wide-eyed at Leon, who casually shrugged and said, "Certainly, no problem. Why else would I show it to you? But it will require an additional fee."

Obadiah instinctively asked, "How much?"

"One hundred million Dollar🤑," Leon replied.

Leon was truly exorbitant in his demands. He directly raised an index finger, indicating that it would cost 100 million for him to disclose the information, and he expected payment in US dollars.

Obadiah took a deep breath, taken aback. A billion dollars? The dollar was much more valuable back then compared to its current continuous decline. Considering the value during the 2008 era, it could certainly exceed five billion US dollars.

One factor was inflation's impact, and the other was the position of the US dollar in the world's foreign exchange market at that time. This was not an exaggeration by any means.

Obadiah hesitated, unsure of what to do. Leon noticed his indecision and didn't rush him. Instead, he put away his mobile phone and started to leave. However, before departing, he offered a reminder, "Take your time to think it over, but I suggest you make a decision soon."

Obadiah contemplated, pondering what he should do.

Meanwhile, Leon returned directly to Tony's house.

If mass production were to be considered, it would be more convenient than other series of battle suits developed by Mark.

Yet, the current predicament was solely related to energy. Was it truly worth spending 100 million to acquire it?

On the other side, when Leon returned to Tony's house, Tony himself questioned, "Is he genuinely going to be deceived?"

Leon smiled and replied, "If he didn't possess this ambition, he wouldn't have taken the risk of eliminating you, Tony. Do you know what Obadiah desires most at this moment? It's to eliminate you and take control of the entire company. His true focus lies not on the Iron Monger, but on the benefits it can bring him."

This means that since Obadiah has taken the risk, he can't turn back and can only go down a dark path. "However, in order to fuel his ambitions, we have to make him believe that Iron Monger is his future," Leon once again displayed a cunning smile.

Tony sighed and asked, "Tell me, when do I leave?"

They had actually discussed this last night, and Leon had explained his plan. There was another aspect that required Tony's cooperation, and that was to showcase the power of the Iron Man battle suit to strengthen Obadiah's belief.

Only by making Obadiah believe that Iron Monger can fulfill his ambitions will he do whatever it takes to make it a success, even if it means tearing relationships apart.

So the next step is simple. Leon's request is for Tony to act as Iron Man for the first time and go to the desert area to destroy the Ten Rings.

Ten Rings is Obadiah's ally, and he will only be convinced if Tony displays his power against them.

"Then let's prepare to take action," Tony said without hesitation, as he still had unfinished business with the Ten Rings.

At that moment, Tony began the final preparations. The second-generation battle suit had been tested and yielded perfect results. It was almost a finished product, with just a few details to refine.

To expedite this step, Tony instructed J.A.R.V.I.S. to activate the equipment in the basement and start the painting process.

Since there was no immediate need to build the third-generation battle suit, the process didn't take long. Forty minutes would suffice.

During this period, Leon and Tony continued to fine-tune their plans. They began using Tony's resources to pre-mark the Ten Rings' stronghold, particularly their weapons reserves, which needed to be destroyed.

Tony felt a deep sense of resentment. These were his family's weapons, and some of them were the latest designs he had developed. It made no sense that they had nearly cost him his life last time.

In fact, even if such an incident hadn't occurred today, Tony would seek revenge in the future. But Leon reminded him.

"I'll accompany you, but I'll stay in the shadows. This is your stage, Tony. Go and relish the feeling of being a superhero," Leon voluntarily offered to go along.

However, Leon wouldn't reveal himself easily and would secretly follow Tony.

Tony initially considered asking Leon about how he would remain hidden, but upon reflection, he realized he didn't need to. He already had a vague understanding that Leon's speed surpassed that of light, and with Earth's current technological level, it was impossible to track a target at such speed.

At least without any prior preparations, satellite or radar monitoring alone wouldn't be able to detect Leon.

Leon's assurance put Tony at ease because this was his first mission, and he couldn't deny feeling both excited and nervous.

While Tony and Leon were discussing their action plan, an incident occurred involving the Ten Rings. They had taken control of a village and kidnapped all the civilians present. A squad of war correspondents happened to be there, broadcasting the urgent situation live.

The Ten Rings displayed great arrogance, even boldly declaring in front of the camera their intent to kill those people.

Leon and Tony exchanged glances.

"What an opportune moment! Let's seize this chance," Leon exclaimed.
