Increasing Family Pressure

I woke up the next morning with an odd mix of exhilaration and anxiety. I had been able to have a taste of freedom what it may be like to make choices without my family watching me closely during my meeting with Global Enterprises. However, after speaking with Ethan, I understood that it went beyond just being independent. My goal was to demonstrate to myself that I was capable of handling things independently and avoiding the pitfalls that my family's influence appeared to create.

As I got to the workplace, I was still considering my alternatives. I was excited to examine Global's idea from a different angle. But I could tell something wasn't right as soon as I came in. As I got closer, the hushed voices that had been whispering down the hallways became quiet. Though I dismissed it as merely the typical family gossip, I felt a shiver go down my spine.
