Knowledge Power

Kyle sat at a table in the library, surrounded by books on runes. He had been studying for hours, trying to absorb as much knowledge as he could. The tournament may have been over, but he was determined to keep improving his skills as a mage.

It has been three weeks since the tournament, and Kyle is still the talk of the town, not only inside the academy but also in the city and neighboring towns. But Kyle is not sitting on his laurels. He is still as thirsty as before to learn more about magic.

As he flipped through the pages of a thick tome, he heard a familiar voice call out to him.

"Hey, Alex! What are you up to?" It was Mei, one of his closest friends.

"I'm just doing some research on runes," Kyle replied, smiling up at her.

Mei pulled up a chair next to him and peered over his shoulder at the book he was reading. "Looks interesting. Mind if I join you?"

"Of course not," Kyle said, gesturing for her to sit down.

As they studied together, Mei couldn't help but notice how focused Kyle was. He seemed determined to master the runes, and she admired his dedication.

Kyle and Mei were sitting in the library, surrounded by piles of books on magic and runes. Kyle had been researching runes for hours, looking for more information on the mysterious tome he had found in the ruin during their adventure.

Mei looked over at Kyle and asked, "Have you found anything interesting yet?"

Kyle sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Not really. Most of these books are just repeating the same information over and over again. But I did find something interesting about the tome I found in the ruin during our adventure."

Mei leaned forward, intrigued. "What did you find out?"

"Well," Kyle said, "this tome are unlike anything I've ever seen before. They seem to be ancient, and I believe they hold a lot of secrets. I want to take them to the Rune Master Guild and have them interpreted."

Mei nodded. "That sounds like a good idea. The Rune Master Guild is known for their expertise in ancient runes."

Kyle nodded in agreement. "Yes, and I want to learn more about them. I have a feeling that these tome are going to be important, and I want to be prepared for whatever is coming."

Mei smiled at him. "You always know what to do, Alex. I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Kyle smiled back. "Thanks, Mei. I'll let you know what I find out."

Kyle walked down the hallway of the academy, his mind focused on finding the martial arts instructor. He wanted to thank the instructor for all the help he provided during the tournament, which gave him an edge in his physical abilities.

Finally, he spotted the instructor in the courtyard, practicing some moves with a wooden sword. Kyle approached him and greeted him with a bow.

"Good afternoon, Instructor," Kyle said. "I wanted to thank you for all your help during the tournament. Your training really helped me improve my physical abilities, which was a big part of my success."

The instructor smiled and returned the bow. "You're welcome, Alex. I'm glad to see that my training has helped you. But remember, it was your hard work and dedication that brought you to where you are now."

Kyle nodded. "Yes, I know. And I'm also here to ask if you can continue to train me. I want to learn more about sword fighting and dagger skills."

The instructor raised an eyebrow. "Interesting. You know that martial arts and magic go hand in hand, right? It's not just about physical strength but also about using your magic to enhance your movements and attacks."

Kyle nodded again. "Yes, I know. I want to improve my overall combat abilities, and I believe that learning more about sword fighting and dagger skills will help me do that."

The instructor smiled. "Very well, Alex. I'll be happy to continue training you. Come back tomorrow at dawn, and we'll start your training."

Kyle thanked the instructor and left the courtyard, feeling excited about his continued training. He knew that combining his magic with physical combat skills would make him a formidable opponent in any situation.

Kyle sat down at his desk in his room, his eyes fixed on the interface projected in front of him. He could see that his statistics had improved since the tournament, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.

He scrolled through his attributes, admiring how his magic power had increased, his agility had improved, and his strength had also gone up. The number of spells he had learned had increased, and his proficiency in them had also risen.

Kyle noticed that his mana pool had increased too, which meant he could cast more spells without getting tired. He grinned at the thought of how much more powerful he would become with time.

As he scrolled through his interface, he also noticed a new section for sword fighting and dagger skills. He had been training with the martial arts instructor for weeks, and it showed in his stats.

Kyle couldn't wait to put his new skills to the test. He knew he still had much to learn, but he was determined to become the best mage and fighter he could be.

With a deep breath, Kyle closed his interface and picked up the tome he had obtained from the ruins. He was excited to take it to the Rune Master Guild and learn more about its secrets, but it's located in the city to the north. Traveling there might take a few weeks, and he could not afford to be away from the academy for that long since graduation will take place about a month from now.

Kyle sat on his bed, staring at the ceiling of his dorm room. He couldn't believe that his time in the academy was coming to an end as graduation approached. It felt like only yesterday that he was sneaking into the academy as Alex, unsure of what the future held.

But now, he had made friends, learned new spells, and even won the academy's tournament. He had accomplished so much, but there was one thing that still weighed on his mind: protecting Arman.

As much as he had grown to love the academy and his friends, he knew that his real purpose was to keep Arman safe. He had promised himself that he wouldn't leave the academy until he had fulfilled that promise.

He knew that his time as Alex was coming to an end, and soon he would have to leave the academy and return to being Kyle. He only hoped that he had done enough to protect Arman and keep him out of harm's way.
