CH.3

Back to Sunnydale, our favorite Scooby gang was back together after Buffy arrived to find the group on patrol. " Has it been this quiet all summer? Am I interrupting anything?" she asked.

" Well, sort of, I mean all the vampires have either disappeared or something but we did run into a wild dog a few days ago." Willow said.

"No, no definitely not interrupting anything so how was your summer?" Xander asked.

" I was pretty boring, dad took me shopping a lot and I did end up going to the beach a few times." Buffy replied.

" Our summers been so boring I'm actually looking forward to school tomorrow." sighed Xander.

They talked for a while as they dropped each other off on their walk home.

Across town, a limo was pulling to the town halls parking lot next to the mayor's car." You are to inform the mayor of my arrival and let him know I won't be interfering too much in his business and that he is to use his influence to keep the riffraff inline and away from my properties." Ryan commanded.

Lindsey bowed and replied," Yes sir and if there is any push back from the mayor?"

"You may remind him of with whom you represent and inform him ill need to be enrolled in the school as a junior as well. Make sure it's under my current alias. Hurry back when he agrees and don't worry about him as you bare my mark, no demon or deity would dare attack you or even be able to wound you if they did. Remind him to keep his mouth shut as well. He may tell his backers but after that, they are to keep it a secret as to not spoil my fun."

An hour later a smiling Lindsey arrived at the limo." All is as you wanted. You should've seen the look on his face when I mentioned you. It was priceless. As for the enrollment, you do realize you have to be a kid right?" Lindsey asked.

Then watched as the Titans face slowly aged backward into a sixteen to seventeen-year-old version of Keanu Reeves." I am aware now let's head to the house."

A quick ride across town to a beautiful four room four bath to story house next two houses down from Buffys.

Waiting in the driveway was a 1967 Chevy Impala hardtop with a V8 engine. Next to it was an armored Lincoln town car.

Lindsey smiled as he saw his boss's car and remembered his agreement.

FLASHBACK

Back in the interview room as soon as he walked in. " Lindsey McDonald, it's a pleasure to meet your eminence. I'd like to say congratulations, you've found your man."

" HAHA, the brass balls on you. You're very funny if nothing else, so what is it you desire Lindsey?" Asked Ryan.

" Well if your offering I'll take immortality for starters. A clean break from this firm and enough power to do anything I please so long as it doesn't anger you." Lindsey replied.

Looking at his soon to be follower Ryan said:" Oh, is that all? Easy enough, how would you like to be the only male to ever be able to channel my power in all of existence? As for immortality, the only beings able to kill you would be myself and anyone else I allow to channel me. And so long as you don't interfere with my plans in this dimension you can do as you like. Though I will be needing you as a butler of sorts. A go-to guy for all my business done in this world. Sort of like a figurehead to deal with the boring mortal stuff."

Lindsey smiled knowing he was about to get everything he ever wanted and more."Deal! Where do I sign up! I've been working my way up the ladder here for years hoping for some kind of breakthrough to the big chair so that I can be immortal. Now that it's right in front of me there's no way I'm letting this opportunity walk away."

"Very well you shall pose as my uncle when we get to our destination. You'll drive around as my chauffeur when we deal with officials and my voice when speaking to them, as they are unworthy of a single word from me personally." Ryan said smiling himself now.

END OF FLASHBACK

Walking into the house Ryan watched as Lindsey sent the limo away after collecting their bags. " Get some rest tomorrow I need you to collect some items in this town, shut down some of the demon operations nearby and buy some land in my name." Ryan said while heading to the second floor master bedroom.

The next morning Lindsey set out like a man on a mission and Ryan headed to school for the first time. Thirty minutes later Ryan pulled into the school parking lot in his new impala.

While the kids were staring at his ride he walked up to a boy clowning around with a redheaded beauty and a blonde model looking girl.

" Excuse me but could you point me to the principles office I have to get my class schedule and car parking tag." He said politely.

The redhead was the first to come out of her daze as she said:" I'll show you the way it can be kind of confusing if it's your first day. I'm Willow by the way. That's Xander with his jaw on the ground and Buffy my friends."

Ryan smiled and said:"It's nice to meet you my names Ryan, I just moved here from Los Angeles last night. I think I'll take you up on the guide offer. It's my first real day in town and I haven't the faintest idea where anything is. If the school wasn't in the middle of town I'd have missed it."

Willow nodded:" I understand, this town can be a little loopy at times. Follow me!"

As they headed off towards the principals office, Buffy and Xander were left staring at them for two very different reasons.- Buffy's thoughts were:" He's so gorgeous I hope he he's not evil."- and Xander's was more of -Where did he get a car like that I hope he likes giving people rides. I wonder if he'll let me drive it. Wait where did willow go? Think brain think! Ryan, names , car , ah principles office.-

"I'll see you in class Xander I have to go see Giles before first period." Buffy said and took off.

Meanwhile outside the principles office Ryan was talking to Willow about fun things to do in town." So where is all the fun to be had in this town? And if it doesn't seem to forward of me would you like to go out with me after schools over today?"

After hearing his last question Willow blushed and stammered:" The bronze is the only thing in town that serves to minors and yyy yes if you want to go with me that is."

"Alright then, care to wait for me here I'll make sure to get you a pass? Don't worry about getting into trouble with me here!"Smiling Ryan cajoled.

Willow smiled and laughed:" id like to see that Mr. Snyder is a bit of a stickler when it comes to skipping class."

Ryan smiled:" Well then how about I get you out of classes for the day, my treat!"

Willow was left open-mouthed outside the door after hearing that. Ryan walked into the office with a little swagger feeling great after a promise of a date. Seeing Snyder sitting there he walked over and said:" The mayor mentioned me to you?"

Snyder looked at him and stood smiling" Yes he sent word that you were a major contributor to this town and that I was to follow your lead on any issues that may come up here."

Ryan leveled his gaze at Snyder and replied:" I'm sure that's not all he said but it's good enough. Set my schedule to the same as Willows, she's the girl outside. And give her a school pass for today. If anyone asks just say she's been volunteered to show me around school for the day. And remember all the information about me is to be left out of your notes. Do not act any different from when treating other students with me outside this office. "

Snyder looked a little shocked at first but soon nodded and got to work. Ten minutes later Ryan was leaving the office with a new schedule and two school passes.

Looking at a dazed Willow he said:" Easy peasy. Here's your pass and this is my schedule. Care to show me around?"

After picking her jaw off the floor she started to show him around the school. " And here's the library. My sanctuary and the place where books live. If you don't mind me asking how did you get Snyder to give you the passes and why is your schedule the same as mine. No offense but I'm in some really hard classes and this can't be coincidence."

Ryan laughed" Ha as if he has a choice. My uncle just donated a million dollars to the school for upgrades to the school. As for the classes I don't really need to take any I completed all my high school courses over the summer break but my uncle insisted I need more human interaction. I figured seeing you more and maybe spending some time patenting some ideas could be done simultaneously."

Blushing, Willow said:" Thanks I think. Are there any patents you have in mind? Can I help?"

Ryan nodded:" Sure, I don't really need the money. I'm just doing it to advance human knowledge as far as I can. If you want, you can co-sign them with me and keep all the proceeds. I would've just given the money away to charity anyway."

Willow looked shocked for a minute at his generosity then smiled." Would you mind if I asked my friends to sign them as well? They could help us brainstorm? They could use the money to."

Ryan stared at Willow for a minute trying to decide before replying:" Willow while I wouldn't mind hanging out with them, I don't really want to take a lot of time on each patent. Besides, I thought it would be a nice me and you thing so that we could get to know each other outside of dates. A place with no expectations."

Ryan watched as willows face got redder a and redder soon matching her hair color. Willow nodded in reply and sped up walking to the library entrance.
