Chapter 13: The Call of the Water Crystallis

Having just gone through an emotionally draining trial, Rian, Salsa, and Anya stood before Crystallis once again. The blue light emanating from the crystal grew stronger, as if preparing to reveal a profound secret. The Guardian, with a wise and serene expression, gazed upon the three of them.

"You have proven the strength of your hearts," the Guardian's voice echoed in the silent cave. "But the journey is not over. Now, it is time for the Crystallis of Water to choose one of you as the next Water Guardian."

Rian looked at Salsa's face. Suddenly, his heart felt a sense of uncertainty, as if hinting that he was about to lose someone precious once again.

Before the Guardian could continue, Rian interrupted, "Excuse me, Guardian, but why must there be a guardian? Isn't our goal to awaken the Crystallis of Water and restore civilization from its frozen state?"

The Guardian smiled wisely, "Awakening the Crystallis is only the first step. To ensure the balance of the world remains intact, a Guardian is needed to protect and safeguard the Crystallis from those who would seek to misuse its power."

Rian fell silent, pondering the Guardian's words. He understood, but his heart felt heavy. Does this mean Salsa will leave? Will I lose her again?

The Guardian continued, "The Crystallis will choose the one with the purest heart and the strongest resolve to bear this responsibility. Prepare yourselves, for the next trial is about to begin."Suddenly, Salsa's right hand began to glow, emitting a blue light similar to that of the Crystallis. The light grew brighter, forming a beautiful vortex of energy around Salsa. A small, dolphin-shaped light emerged from the Crystallis of Water, as if the creature had come to aid Salsa. The sight instantly brought a shadow of worry to Rian's face.

The Guardian smiled gently, "The Crystallis has chosen. Salsa, you have been chosen to receive the power of the Crystallis of Water."

"Hello, little dolphin. From now on, I'll call you Zoe," Salsa said to the small creature.

The old Guardian approached, his eyes radiating wisdom and trust. "You will learn to control the power of the Crystallis, Salsa. This creature will aid and protect you as the new Water Guardian."

Witnessing this, Rian couldn't hide his disappointment. He glanced at Anya, who returned his gaze with understanding. Anya knew how deeply Rian cared for Salsa.

Amidst the mixed emotions, Crystallis continued to shine, its light illuminating the path they must take, full of challenges yet also full of hope.
