{Katie Pov}
'How does Amari like this guy?' I thought about looking at Zagan with scorn.
Despite possessing a superior class, he is incredibly weak. He even has Kitsuna's weapons, something that should give him an advantage against normal people.
However, he has been a fortunate individual throughout his life, and even his fiance has a deep affection for him.
"I wonder if this will open her eyes." I muttered, looking down at the depressed Zagan.
"Hey, get your butt up and fight." I dropped him on the floor.
Turning around, I blocked a barrage of daggers with the claymore Kitsuna gave me. One fun thing about this claymore is that its width is greater than my body, so I could hide behind it with ease when blocking things like this.
"Let's gang up on her, she's alone." A man said there were about 30 people around him.
"Zagan, you need to start taking responsibility for your actions, or else I will take action myself." I said while glaring at him before launching water spears into the air and firing them at the man and his gang.
"Dodge? She's a mage!" The man exclaimed in shock, leaping away with little suckers.
"It's Katie Anabald, of course she is a freaking mage, you stupid idiot!" Yelled another guy in shock at how dumb people can be.
"Then why is she using that white claymore?" Another girl inquired, giving the other guy a stern look.
'Fighting between each other right now? Am I currently undervaluing myself?' I thought. I was getting more annoyed.
"I don't know," the guy responded sheepishly.
"Stop talking and start attacking her!" The leader yelled, glaring at the two people talking amongst themselves.
"Yes sir."
"Fucking commoners."
"Oh, are you also a noble?" I said with a raised eyebrow. I did not know this guy at all. I mean, I know everyone who lives in our territory, but that's about it.
"Of course, I am. I'm from the house."
"I don't care what house you are from, but from what territory?" I said I was interrogating the guy.
"Women, I am a faithful follower of the Duke."
"Ah, that makes sense." I replied, kicking another one of his lackeys to the ground before severing their heads with a straightforward swing of the claymore.
"What does that sentence mean?"
"… sigh." Sighing, I made a water wall in front of me, defusing the fire spell he tried to attack me with.
He leaped away from the wall, narrowly avoiding the dozens of swords that were stabbing the water wall.
"Have you learned not to take your eyes off your enemies?" The guy was laughing on the other side of the water wall.
"Dude, just shut up." I said in frustration, slicing through the water wall and taking three people's heads with me.
Letting the claymore drop, I shot two water balls out of my hands, killing another two people.
"Ugh. Get her!"
Ignoring him, I shot out an arc of water, causing everyone to jump up or away in order to dodge it.
"Zagan! Are you going to start doing something, or are you just going to sulk on the ground like some pathetic frog?" I yelled, grabbed the claymore once more, and leaped back away from the group of assailants.
Making another dozen water speers before sinking a few more people
"You goddamn useless fuck!" I cursed and looked down at the still-depressed Zagan.
With a click of my tongue, I shook my head and turned my gaze back to the assailants.
"Amari might want to kill me, but fuck this." I muttered as I jumped away, dodging multiple swords, but sadly, it wasn't true. The fog engulfed Zagan, leading to his depressed emotional state and eventual death. While they were busy taking their swords out of Zagan, I swung my claymore, cutting everyone in half.
"Zagan!" Amari yelled from the stands.
"His teammate had abandoned him. Well, he was a weak fucker." The leader said he was still keeping his distance from me.
"There we go, ladies and gentlemen, we have our 8 winners!!!!!"
"Fuck, I wanted to kill this bitch." Another guy to my right was glaring at me.
Does he really believe he can still challenge me? Oh, wait. Is that why they ganged me? 'Well, I guess that will work against most people.' Thinking about it, I strapped the claymore to my back and walked up to Zagan, who was already rewinding. Picking him up, I carried him out of the arena to his private room.
"What the fuck, Kate!!" Amari yelled the message, and I walked into his room.
"What?"
"How can you just let him die?" Amari yelled, walking up to me.
"Hey, you saw how useless he was in the fight." What have you been teaching him over the past few months? How to be depressed!" I yelled, glaring down at her.
"You!" Amari, humming, created a colorful sphere in her hand, causing my eyes to widen in surprise.
"Are you going to attack me?" I replied, chuckling at her.
"Attack, no, I am only threatening you," Amari said, intensifying her glare.
"Oh, because I said your future husband is a deadbeat?" I replied sarcastically.
"Katie, you are talking too much." Amari yelled back, making her spell come true.
"Amari Draig, open your eyes. That man is not someone you should be in love with." I walked away, shaking my head at her.
"Why do you care?
"He is a deadbeat, so even though the Draigs are the strongest house, he will cause them to collapse or overwork you." I said, pointing at her.
"Katie!" Amari yelled learing at me in anger, before either of us could react Amari threw her spell at me, making my eyes widen.
Bang!
"Going off like that isn't healthy, Amari." Kitsuna remarked after slapping Amari's spell into the wall, as if it wasn't a deadly spell at all.
Looking back at Amari, I saw her widening eyes and realized what she almost did.
"Sorry, sorry, I am sorry, Katie. I didn't mean to attack you." Amari stammered in dread, realizing what she had done.
"Amari leave. You are in tomorrow's battle, so go home, cool down, and I will talk to you later."
"But."
"Don't tell mom what happened here, okay? If she inquires about the wall, just say, it was me." Kitsuna informed Amari, glancing at my mother on the couch.
"Alright." She said she was not asking any more questions, of course she didn't forget to glance at Zagan before leaving the room.
"Are you okay?" Kitsuna asked, looking at me.
"I am fine."
"Good, we won't talk about this again. Sorry that she did that, though," Kitsuna said, giving a small nod.
"Not your fault."
"She's my sister anyway. How was the claymore? I saw you cutting them to shreds up there." Kitsuna said it, laughing.
"It's a good weapon, but I will need to get used to it." I uttered while examining the ice weapon.
"Good, I can make you a few more in the next few days if you want to keep extra just in case," she said, nodding in agreement.
"I don't believe that will be necessary." I said, knowing that I wouldn't be able to break it easily.
"Okay, so what happened to him?" She inquired, gesturing at Zagan, who was passed out on the ground.
"I don't know, he was just a useless piece of meat in there." I said glaring at him in annoyance.
"I saw as much. Well, I guess I will need to take care of him myself." She said, shaking her head. She disappeared without saying good-bye, taking Zagan by the collar.
"She is as bad as ever with her manners." I muttered to myself, looking at the door just before it flung open with Stacy's head popping in through the door, she looked around the room before leaving again, not saying anything or looking at me.
"I suppose they are blood relatives, despite their differences." I said sarcastically, looking to my left, where my mother was sitting on the couch.
"Ah, you finally acknowledge my presence."
"Mother, why didn't you try and save me from Amari's spell?"
"Well, Kitsuna was faster. She knew from the start that it was going to happen, so she was ready." My mother replied, shrugging. I knew she had mana gathered in case.
"And you didn't."
"Nope. I really thought she would only threaten you. Nothing more." My mother replied, amused.
"But she didn't."
"Yes, and she will pay for that." My mother said, grinning.
"From you or from Kitsuna?" With a raised eyebrow, I questioned my mother.
"Well, they are sisters, so me." She said, shrugging, keeping her grin.
"Alright, just do it after her battle tomorrow."
"Of course I will. What do you think of your own mother?" She mentions tilting her head sideways in confusion.
"Avenger." I simply said, causing her to be stunned.
"I guess." She commented before disappearing.
"What the fuck is it with people today not saying good-bye?" I said in annoyance.
