Chapter 40: The Talented Cat

The battle erupted in an instant.

However, contrary to what the Starfire Cult members had anticipated, they were the first to be attacked.

Almost as soon as Troy's words fell, two members of the Starfire Cult let out piercing screams as their bodies were suddenly severed into several pieces, as if torn apart by a beast's claws.

What was happening?

A sense of shock filled the minds of the Starfire Cult members simultaneously.

Before they could comprehend the situation, another two comrades were sent flying, their bodies twisting into strange, unnatural angles, and the sickening sound of bones snapping echoed from within. They fell to the ground, convulsing once before falling silent.

Finally, Troy reacted, shouting in anger, "Something invisible is nearby! Stay alert!"

However, his warning only caused panic among his subordinates without any further effect.

They had no idea where the invisible enemy was, nor did they know how to defend or retaliate. They could only watch helplessly as one comrade after another was torn apart by attacks that seemed to come from nowhere, their pained cries echoing through the night as they succumbed to death.

In just three or four breaths, more than ten Starfire Cult members had fallen.

The remaining ones wore expressions of terror, their faces pale and limbs trembling.

"Damn it!"

Troy gritted his teeth as he watched this scene, then suddenly turned to charge at Su Nan.

"Let's take down that guy first!"

Ryan also came to the realization that this strange scene was the work of Su Nan.

They had to kill him first!

Faced with the two men lunging at him with murderous intent, Su Nan remained calm and composed, tossing a rune gem without hesitation.

With a whoosh, the gem exploded in mid-air, releasing a blazing red light that engulfed Ryan in a torrent of flames!

Ryan's battle aura shield lasted less than a breath before shattering, and the flames quickly enveloped him, transforming him into a towering column of fire.

"Ah!!"

Amidst the piercing screams, this great knight was instantaneously reduced to ash.

Troy felt his scalp tingle, a chill running through him.

Although Ryan was not as strong as he was, he was still a junior great knight. To be killed in an instant like that was terrifying!

As Su Nan's gaze fell on him, a deep-seated fear gripped Troy's heart, and he made a decisive choice to flee.

He understood that this person was not someone they could handle!

Even if they threw their lives into the fray, they would still be unable to deal with him!

If they wanted to retrieve the Divine Blood Potion, they would have to return and ask the priest for assistance!

However, as he turned back, Troy was horrified to discover that the men he had brought with him had been entirely wiped out, leaving behind a gruesome scene of severed limbs and blood.

Ignoring the pain, he screamed as he scrambled to his feet, quickly sprinting forward.

But faster than him was a bolt of lightning!

A streak of light tore through the night, crossing over a hundred meters in the blink of an eye, striking at his back!

Crack!

Countless arcs of electricity erupted, instantly engulfing Troy's entire body!

When the blinding light dissipated, Troy lay on the ground, reduced to charred remains, utterly silent.

In the distance, Su Nan withdrew his hand, his expression indifferent.

When facing great knight-level enemies, both zero-ring spells and simple energy manipulation had proven to be quite limited.

The only truly effective combat method was the rune gems.

One rune gem was enough to instantly kill a junior great knight.

If it wasn't for their high cost, Su Nan would have used rune gems as a standard combat method.

"Meow, Su Nan, you're amazing!" 

Amy suddenly appeared at Su Nan's feet, looking up at him with admiration.

So many bad guys were effortlessly taken care of by Su Nan in an instant!

"That was incredible!"

"By the way, is that big guy who can turn invisible your pet?" Amy asked curiously.

Su Nan was surprised. "You can see the Hidden Dragon?"

"Yeah!" Amy nodded vigorously. "My master said my perception is very sharp, and I can see many things that others can't."

"Is it similar to the ability of True Sight?" Su Nan pondered.

Once the Hidden Dragon realized it had been discovered, it ceased to hide and revealed itself, its wide eyes scanning Amy up and down.

Amy immediately puffed up in fright and darted behind Su Nan.

"Meow! Don't eat me! I'm not tasty!"

Su Nan paused for a moment. At that moment, he had indeed sensed through the magical bond that the Hidden Dragon was transmitting the thought, *This cat looks quite delicious.*

"Can you sense the thoughts of other beings?"

Amy curled up slightly and replied, "Not really, but I can sense if others have malicious intentions toward me."

Such an ability truly surprised Su Nan.

He had thought Amy was too naive and innocent, approaching a stranger without hesitation and answering every question.

Now it seemed that she had sensed that he meant her no harm, which was why she had been so open.

Su Nan felt a wave of relief; fortunately, he hadn't acted greedily when he saw the Divine Blood Amber and the spatial magical item resembling a bell. Otherwise, Amy might have fled by now.

As soon as he touched the statuette, familiar whispers echoed in his ears once again.

However, this item didn't appear to be a magical object; he couldn't deduce its use just by examining its enchanted runes.

After studying it for a while without any fruitful results, Su Nan decided to crush the statuette, and to his surprise, found another piece of Divine Blood Amber inside.

"Now I have two!"

Su Nan gleefully placed both pieces of Divine Blood Amber into the magic cube and then checked the synthesis interface.
