Chapter 15: A Decision Made

After breakfast, Riya gathered her family in the living room, her heart heavy with the weight of her decision. With a deep breath, she addressed her parents.

"Mom, Dad, I've made a decision. I've decided to go with them, but only for two years. If after two years I don't want to stay there, I'll come back," Riya announced, her voice steady despite the turmoil in her mind.

She watched their expressions closely, searching for any sign of objection or disappointment. But instead, she found understanding and support in their eyes.

"Also, Brother's treatment is necessary. There's no cure in India for his condition. Maybe they have the cure, and you all will be there with me, so I won't have to go alone," Riya explained, hoping to ease their worries.

Her parents nodded in agreement, accepting her decision. "Okay, as long as you're sure," her father replied before heading off to make arrangements for their passports.

Approaching her mother, Riya wrapped her arms around her in a tight embrace. "Mom, no matter what, you'll always be my mother, and that will never change," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

Mrs. Sharma smiled warmly, her hand resting gently on Riya's shoulder. "They're also your parents, Riya. You should treat them nicely. They've come all the way here just to find you. That shows how much they love you," she reminded her daughter softly.

Riya remained silent, the weight of her emotions too heavy to put into words.

The next morning, Mr. and Mrs. Kim arrived at the Sharma house, bearing numerous gifts as tokens of gratitude. Mr. Sharma hesitated at the sight of the gifts, but Mr. Kim insisted they accept.

"Please accept it. This is our small thank you for taking care of our daughter," Mr. Kim urged, his eyes filled with sincerity.

He then presented them with a picture of Eun-ji before the accident, causing a wave of emotion to wash over everyone present.

"What did the doctor say?" Mr. Sharma inquired, concern etched on his face.

"The doctor said she could wake up in weeks or years. It's not certain," Mr. Kim replied, his voice heavy with emotion.

As they stood together, united by their shared love and concern for Eun-ji, Riya couldn't help but feel a sense of hope mingled with apprehension for the journey ahead.
