The Secret Chamber

Chapter 55 The Secret Chamber

"Ah… back to my home is indeed a magical pleasure."

Amdarais stretched his hand as he arrived at the Clock Tower from His Magical Gate along with Vaeral and me.

He overly smiled and sniffed like he had barely found a beautiful, calming place for a picnic.

"Oh, can you guys smell that? It's so relaxing and calming! This is a nice place for us to spend lots of time!"

Amdarais glorify it more while showing the vastness of Clock Tower Hall and its cracked wall, pointing out the door on the wall that craved with a reverse white pentagram symbol.

I don't understand what made Amdarais very excited after we arrived at the Clock Tower.

Still, those hyperbolic praise sounds so irritating for Vaeral and me.

"Stop exaggerating with your hollowed nose, fella. It's disgusting. Also, this place is a hell of a Magician."

Vaeral replied with a long exhale.

"Hell? Isn't that place where we should be pleasant for Magicians so they can become The Supreme Magician, my friend? Oopss… I almost forgot you're not the Supreme Magician…. "

"Shut up, Skull Joker. You're the lame Magician now. It is Rezvan and me that you must depend on."

"Dear Daredevil… don't hear him. He's an embarrassing Magician who can't handle the pleasure of spending a lot of time learning in the magnificent tower!"

Amdarais said it while hurriedly embracing my shoulder from the back.

Man, back then, I almost went crazy and depressed when I learned about Soul's Spirit in this tower.

Even though, weirdly enough, I continue improving the Soul's Strike casting by defeating the Stones Golems like a nut.

"Rezvan, please make this Skeleton shut his mouth for a moment. It's made my head hurt."

Vaeral holding his irk.

"Okay, guys. Let's just focus on our practice. Where exactly do we practice, Amdarais?"

I asked before those two fellas slandered each other again.

"Ah, yes, yes, yes…. This way, my dear Daredevil…."

Amdarais quickly flies on the north edge of the clocktower, then stops in front of the wall with a reverse white pentagram symbol.

As he placed his right palm on that wall, the blue and white aura emerged from the reverse white pentagram symbol.

The wall covered by the aura gradually diminished into a fragment of blue lights, which revealed a secret hallway with stairs to the underground.

"Come…! Come…! It's a pleasure, Rezvan! The Magician's power would be immense if you trained here…!"

Amdarais waved his hand at me like a child who invited someone to play in his room.

It's strangely funny, to be honest.

As Vaeral and I walk through the hall and step down until the underground, I see a vast field with a stone floor.

From the torch lights with blue fire on each side of the field, I can see the symbol on the reverse white pentagram carved on the field floor.

In the center of the field, Amdarais stood with a grin on his face.

"Welcome, to the Secret Magician Chamber for improvement."

Amdarais said it with pride, while Vaeral, who heard it become, frowned.

Vaeral walked with me until we stopped at the center of the field.

He took the red pendant of Honour Conquest out of his robe, then it shone a glimpse of blue light.

"Is it your first time using the 'Miracle' talisman, Rezvan?"

Vaeral asked me.

"I barely heard that stuff."

I answered briefly.

"Miracle Talisman is the magical artifact of a Magician with vast Magic Energy that had a variety of impacts. Compared with magical gemstones, this magical tool is created with a lot of blood and sweat from pure magicians that spend hundreds of years of production. As a result, not only it's difficult to create, but also, it's hard to use. Only trained and talented Magician who could use it properly."

Amdarais articulately explained it to me.

"As this joker said, it's difficult to recreate and use. To be precise, this magical artifact is created by the Venharice family, my grandfather. Even though the creation is finished, it took a dozen years for Magicians on Venharice to cooperate so they can utilize it to cast a deadly Great Magic Spell."

Vaeral added the explanation.

He now removes the Honour Conquest necklace from his neck and shows it in front of me.

"For activating the resonation between the Magician and the Miracle Talisman, at least it needs two Magicians. Soliana and I are some of the Magicians from the Venharice and Yinleth families who could utilize it to cast a deadly Great Water Magic Spell in the past. It took a year of practice, but I believe we can do it together since you're a talented Magician, Rezvan. Grasp the pendant if you ready."

"Sure, I'm ready for it."

I said it firmly while grasping the pendant.

"There are four phases of concentration for opening the resonation toward the Miracle Talisman: Recitation, Reservation, Reverbation, and Revolution. If we can reach those four phases sequentially, the Miracle Talisman would link with our Soul's Spirit."

"Care to elaborate on each phase?"

"Well… Recitation is the process of reading the Miracle Talisman's unseen message, which you can only read using your Soul's Spirit senses. Reservation is your Soul's Spirit offering toward the power of Miracle Talisman that only could be shown with solemn in your heart. Reverbation is when you can feel The Miracle Talisman Souls on your entire body and Soul, so you need to restructure your Soul to have similar vibrations. The last one is Revolution, the part where the Miracle Talisman Souls drained into your body by force, which could be dangerous and crushing if you're not prepared to attain it properly."

I paused for a moment while imagining each phase.

It's still hard to understand it clearly, but I can grasp the aim of each phase.

I believe I can get the complete picture of it in my mind by practicing these slowly.

"Let's start with the first phase, then."

I said after a long pause.

"Okay, concentrate and read the message with your soul, Rezvan."

After Vaeral said that, both Vaeral and I closed our eyes to meditate.

Under the darkness on our gaze, I can hear a faint voice and see a glimpse of fog with a blue and white color beneath it.

I stabilize my breath, maintaining it to calm my mind and thoughts.

I don't think anything or anyone.

I'm just sulking into the deep darkness on my gaze, trying to move beneath the fog that gradually becomes clear as far as I can see.

The mumbled voices still sound faint, though.

As I move through the blue and white fog, everything is no longer dark in my gaze but dominated by the blue of the sea.

I see myself standing on the water's surface beneath the night sky without a cloud.

From far away, I see someone wearing a black robe with a purple line in the north.

If I remember correctly, the black robe with a purple line is similar to the robe that Sundamar Venharice and his apprentice wearing.

Is that Sundamar?

Or might it be another Venharice?

I don't know.

I try to find it by continuing my step on the water's surface to move closer to him.

After only two steps, suddenly, my body stopped itself.

Even though I forced myself to move it, I couldn't move.

Something behind me tackles my movement, even though I don't know what it is.

"What's your purpose, mortals….?"

The fainted sound of mumbling suddenly became clear in my ear.

It's like the voice of an old woman who whispers directly.

But I can't see the one who heard it since my body can't be moved.

Should I answer the question so I can move again?

What kind of answer, though?

I paused for a while to think of the proper answer.

"I want to meet that guy."

I said it directly as I stared at the guy wearing a black robe on the edge north of the water's surface.

"You shall not pass."

The second the woman's voice was heard, my body suddenly sulked into the sea.

I panicked since the sea was suffocating my breath heavily.

It became worse because I couldn't move my body, so I fell into the deep sea, making all my gaze turn back into the darkness again.

Even though I held my breath, the tremendous sea relentlessly flooded my mouth and nose, making me almost faint.

I forcefully call my Soul's Spirit to release myself out of this chaotic sea until the Soul's Spirit emerges a blue aura and forcefully pushes me from the darkness of the sea.

My body bounced from the vast water ball that just imprisoned me.

I coughed and spat out the damn water that made me suffocate.

"Well, that's fast."

Hearing the mocking sound near me, I immediately looked up at Amdarais, who stood beside me with a grinning face.

Before I replied to Amdarais, I saw Vaeral from far away, kneeling and coughing simultaneously in wet conditions.

Vaeral and I failed the first phase of resonation toward Miracle Talisman.

This practice is going to be damn hell to master.
