Auxiliary Mana Core: While others cultivate, I level up

They all kept staring at the wall where she previously stood in surprise and confusion.

"Drake, what was that?" A boy beside the leader boy asked.

"I guess she was right," he responded as the confident and now excited smile on his face returned.

He walked towards the wall and stood in front of it for some seconds before also walking in. Seeing him do this, everyone began to follow suit, and Art who was still being held against his will was pulled along with the shorter boy by the excited Beatrix.

She didn't even hesitate before jumping through the wall along with them.

They felt a twist in space before appearing in a place that looked like…..well—space. Art felt that he would keep falling as it looked like an endless abyss but his legs made contact with something which he couldn't see. It seemed transparent.

It was pitch black all around and the only sources of like were the orbs floating above which looked like stars in the night sky.

"So this is the Cave of Alchemy," Art said in admiration as it was a beautiful sight. He had always wanted to go into space in his former world and the last thing he saw before losing his life then was the night sky and stars.

So he was really happy as this was as close to space as it could get.

It seemed that Beatrix felt the same way as the grip she had on his hand weakened and he used this opportunity to set himself free, also creating some distance.

'What's with that girl? She…..' his thoughts was interrupted as he saw two people lying unconscious on the ground. Well, not as if it was a ground, but you get?

They weren't able to handle the pressure of mana here. The lowest orb he could see was slightly above their heads and he watched as two orbs of around that level flew into their chest

'I see he wasn't joking.'

Looking around, he could see several people trying to stay conscious.

*Thud*

Another person fell.

Only about 15 of them still stood unfazed, and Art was shocked that he was one of them. He didn't even feel a thing.

Just then a system notification popped up.

[High mana region detected]

[Suitable for forming auxiliary mana core]

[Does host wish to proceed]

[Yes] [No]

"Huh?" He stared at it in confusion.

'Wow, lucky you!' His guide exclaimed in his mind somewhat excited.

'What does this mean?'

She let out a chuckle before explaining.

'Do you really think that this almighty system had plans to leave you barren? In this world unlike what you guys mostly fantasize about in your former. Mana core isn't something that is formed at a later age, instead, it develops along with other internal organs when a child is still in its mother's womb.

So the parents, especially the mother, the concentration of mana around the environment, nutrition, and a few others all plays an important role in how well and powerful a child's mana core is formed before birth. If all of these are met properly, the infant would have a head start over the others whose conditions were poorer, and the rest from there depended on the person's mana cultivation talent. It's almost impossible to have two mana cores but then again you have the system.

The auxiliary mana core would be used while your main mana core is still locked and had begun formation two days ago. It would've taken two months to be completely formed depending on the amount of mana around the place you stay, but I didn't expect you to get into a high mana region and so soon. Begin the formation immediately. Forming it here would decrease how long it would normally take by a lot.'

After listening to this lengthy talk, Art would've had black lines on his face if it wasn't for her mesmerizing voice.

He didn't know why she explained the first part as he already knew that. Not wasting any more time, he chose yes. He wondered why the system kept asking him obvious questions. Why in the world would he choose no?

'So the reason why I'm not affected is that the system is absorbing the mana around me to form the auxiliary core.'

'Bingo!' She exclaimed which felt weird as it was something from his former world. He wondered if she had gotten that from his memories.

But he was glad that he'd be able to use mana normally very soon. Come to think of it, I don't know my cultivation talent.

According to the memories I received, there are five talent rankings.

1st realm,

2nd realm,

3rd realm,

4th realm,

and 5th realm.

The first being the lowest and the fifth being the highest.

'Trivial things like that don't matter because while others cultivate, you'll level up.'

A feeling of excitement washed over him after hearing this, he really loved the idea.

Feeling more elated he began to walk around the vast space with his steps not producing a single sound while glancing at different orbs.

Some were too high up that they looked so tiny. The normal size of the orbs was like a peeled coconut maybe even smaller.

He also noticed that the ones higher up also glowed brighter. He kept praying that he gets picked by one and his gaze was fixed above as if wanting them to notice him.

He wasn't the only one who went exploring. Some people who were strong enough to withstand the mana pressure also strolled around. Of course, Beatrix was one of them.

She didn't even seem too affected up till now and kept flaunting around. Those who were barely hanging on stayed in one spot trying not to fall unconscious.

At this point, about half of them had dropped down unconscious with orbs floating into them.

After some time, he stumbled into something. Two orbs at the height of his chest, both having a dull glow and smaller than the rest.

He stared at both of them before shaking his head with a smile.

"You guys must be the lowest of the low. It isn't easy being far away from others huh? Well, at least we have that in common. You wouldn't believe how weak I was and even now I'm still weak but I won't stay that way. I'm going to strive to get stronger, no, become the strongest and I wish the same for you. I could even be your role model."

It felt strange talking to a glowing orb but he didn't mind. Maybe because he was too weak and when he sees something weaker, he sometimes ends up giving a pep talk even though they can't understand.

It satisfied him in a way and he had this character even before he got transmigrated.

As an alpha, he also gave his betas pep talks before or after claiming their lives.

After saying this, something strange began to happen which caused him to raise an eyebrow.

Both orbs started flickering while revolving around each other and floating higher.

'What's going on, hope it doesn't self-destruct.' He asked her waiting for an answer.

'Beats me,' she replied casually.

He watched as both orbs fused together forming one orb. Not that the glow was any brighter. He concluded that maybe this was how they were formed. But he couldn't be any more mistaken.

Before he could make any other action, the orb whizzed into his chest.

I wonder what's that about.
