Mind Link!

Hazel was looking at the scenery outside while sitting beside Samiel on his bed. She suddenly felt an intense gaze directed at her.

Trusting her improved instincts she looked at her back to find nothing. Her young master was still sleeping it seems.

She smiled gently then turned to the other side again.

{Was I wrong?} Hazel thought as she have been never wrong in her intuition. {But, I clearly felt it...}

{Maybe, I am training too much? I should listen to the Lady's advice and rest for a while...} Her thoughts continued.

After a few moments passed.

{Ha-Hezel?} (In Hazel's mind)

Suddenly, Hazel heard an unknown voice inside her head.

"Who is it?"

She abruptly stood up and looked around warily.

"Show yourself!" She shouted and prepared herself to fight. {I knew there was someone!}

"[Dome Barrier!]"

"[Ice Barrier!]"

Then she simultaneously used two of her strongest spells to protect her young master from danger. Two barriers appeared around her and Samiel. One was a transparent dome barrier while the other was a large barrier that was made of ice. Then, two daggers appeared in her hands out of nowhere.

She looked around the room perceptively hoping to find the figure of the intruder. But after a whole minute passed nothing happened. And she also didn't sense another mana fluctuation or a person's presence.

"Sigh! I must have imagined it!" Hazel muttered and canceled her skills. The two barriers disappeared. {Who would be able to pass the protection barrier that was settled up by the Lord anyway.} She thought as she remembered how powerful the invisible barrier that was protecting their home was.

But in the next second, she was shocked and alarmed yet again.

{Hahahaha! Hazel! It-t's me!} (In Hazel's mind)

She heard a light laugh and a voice that resembled a baby.

{Wait! A baby's voice.} She thought and instantly turned around and looked at Samiel, the only baby in the room.

Her guess was probably correct as she saw little Samiel looking at her with his clear light blue eyes while giggling cutely.

Usually, Hazel would have shouted "Cuteeee!" when she saw little Samiel giggling like this but the shock took over her.

"Eh?" She made a sound.

Then, her figure slowly started to fall down. Thankfully she was near the Samiel's bed, so her body landed on his bed near Samiel's body.

{Eh? What happened to you?} (In Hazel's mind)

She lost consciousness, maybe because this was too much cuteness for her, or she was unable to accept seeing a talking child.

Only she knew why and would keep it a secret forever.

After Samiel woke up from his slumber. He looked around to know the situation. How much time has passed or was he able to get out of that mysterious place?

{Luckily, I am in the real world.} Samiel thought as he saw he was still lying down on his bed in the same room.

Then his eyes caught Hazel standing beside him while looking in another direction. Suddenly, an idea came into his mind.

{Shoul I check my new powers?} He thought while looking at Hazel with an intense gaze.

Samiel was saying that he was accustomed to staying alone or being alone. In fact, he also wanted to have someone to talk to or spend time with. He has been feeling lonely for a long time.

Therefore, he decided to talk with Hazel, the person who accepted and opened up to him in his memories aside from his family.

Without waiting he closed his eyes and prepared to use his mind power to talk with Hazel.

He channeled his mind's power and slowly started to control it. After a few moments of familiarizing himself with the mind's power and controlling it, he also recalled the ability he has awakened.

Yes, he has awakened a mental ability. He also got the memories of using it or knew how to use it by instinct and then he decided to use it as it was somewhat similar to Telepathy but a slightly weaker version. He named it Mind Link!

Samiel opened his eyes and saw the world in a new way, he then looked at Hazel with great focus and concentration.

{Link!} He muttered as he activated his mental ability.

Then he felt his mind power shooting like a bullet toward Hazel and he sensed some kind of connection between their minds.

{Great, it worked!} He thought as well as became happy that his ability worked.

{Then let's try it...} He thought and he tried to talk Hazel into her mind using the link he established.

{Ha...zel...}

{Hazel!}

He tried a few times and finally, he succeeded albeit he mispronounced her name.

{Ha-Hezel?} (In Hazel's mind)

{Huh? What's with that reaction?}Samiel thought after seeing Hazel's reaction. {Does she think there is an intruder here?}

{But she is surely strong for her age and her reflexes are good too.} Samiel concluded while looking at Hazel who was trying to protect them from the 'unknown intruder :)

Seeing Hazel still not realizing it was him who spoke, he talked in her mind again while laughing at her.

{Hahahaha! Hazel! It-t's me!} (In Hazel's mind)

However, as the shocking thing happened: Hazel lost consciousness, Samiel realized something, something crucial.

Even though this was a magical world, babies wouldn't talk albeit via the mind.

{She must have been really shocked to see me like this...} He thought while looking at Hazel's unconscious figure with his tiny eyes.

{I must be careful in the future...} Samiel thought as he saw what his actions that he did without thinking, caused.

After this incident, Samiel decided to not use this ability on others, firstly, he couldn't use it on other maids who were just ordinary people. They could die from shock or from a heart attack.

Secondly, he also couldn't use it on his other family members. His parents were powerful, they could easily block his mental ability. But it was just for now. He still had much time to improve in Mental Ascension System.

If he reaches the second Stage, then his mental power could equal that of non-mentalist -S rank heroes. Meaning he would be able to talk with his mother. However, there was another problem - he may be able to talk normally before reaching the second stage.

Finally, he also couldn't use Hazel, after today's incident, he didn't want to anything bad happen to her.

Fortunately, he had someone in his mind that could help. He just needed to find the right time.
