A few days had passed, everything was normal and looking good. Nothing much going on, except for one thing.
Nobody notices me in school, nor does anybody like to talk to me. Back when school started, whenever my classmates saw me they invited me to their group to work on a project. But nowadays, it seems that I am always left out. It feels like they're deliberately avoiding me, making me feel invisible.
Even when I submit my papers to the teacher, I feel ignored. Nobody notices me in the class. Nobody wants to talk to me. The only time that I get noticed is when they ask me questions relating to the subject, but anything other than that – nothing.
But I always believed that I don't need to prove myself nor try hard for them to like me.
Teng, one of my groupmates, asked, "Hey, Ploy! How's it going? "
I replied, "What do you mean?"
"Our school project! Remember they asked you to print everything?"
I thought of scolding her that she has to think about her priorities seriously, instead of being unproductive and focusing on things that would not benefit her. But, I just told her something that would make her think of her actions.
"We crammed."
Because we actually did! She wasn't there when we submitted the project!
She suddenly looked down and her face seemed disappointed.
I know that she knows that the school teacher is new, so she butters up to make the teacher believe that she was easygoing and a model student. But, little did the teacher know that she spends most of her time drinking with different students every time school ends.
Teng tried to make up an excuse, "But-"
Ann suddenly cut her off, "No buts! You didn't help at all!"
Teng annoyingly whispered, "Why did you two cram? You shouldn't tell the teacher that you crammed for the project!"
I replied, "What else is there to say? It's the truth! We crammed thanks to you."
She replied, "As if. You wouldn't dare not to pass any school projects or activities."
I was reading a Wattpad booklet and tried to quote it as my reply to Teng, "Some of our group mates were late that day, so me and Ann did it with Bam."
This is what the character said in the booklet. I just swapped the names of my classmates because I'm getting tired of holding a conversation with her.
Teng is in disbelief seeing that she's already tense. But a few minutes later, she then understood that her argument was pointless as she knows that she's not the only one who did not help Ann, Bam and I.
This was by far the most peaceful talk with an angry classmate.
I like the book that I'm reading, it stimulates my imagination.
I continued on reading and I was deep in imagination from the scenarios in the book. I noticed that my chair was already moving, I paid no attention and I deliberately tried to continue reading, but I am having a hard time picturing the scenes in my head because of all the movement.
I closed my book in disappointment. Frustrated, because I can't imagine the scenes anymore.
I then looked around and noticed that everyone was staring at me. I looked to my left and right and saw two boys going at each other and about to start another fight.
Heck, I didn't even notice that Ann and Bam stood up to avoid it.
"Ohh… that's why my chair was moving," I said to myself while not caring about what's happening.
I continued pondering, "Hmmm... why did the author kill the main character for a sad ending?"
"And what happened to the bad boy named Axel?"
Then, the teacher came and scolded both of them. They got sent to the guidance office and the teacher continued scolding the class officers for not doing anything to stop the fight.
Ann asked me, "Did you not see how intense the fight was?! You kept on reading that book like nothing's happening around you."
I comically replied, "I just thought that my chair was floating!"
Everyone laughed when they heard my answer.
