Chapter 8

The fizzy haired girl left in a rush. I look at Ginny who just shrugged.

"Her name is Hermione, and no I don't think they are dating, yet." Ginny said with a knowing smile.

"Well we are going to have fun at the expense of Harry this year." I say with a evil smile.

"I'm starting to feel sorry for Harry." Ginny said looking at my face with a bit of apprehension.

"You were thinking the same thing, so don't try it." I say, knowing her very well.

"Are you talking about Harry Potter?" Luna asked in her dreamy voice.

"Yep, he's my god-brother, me and Ginny like teasing him and Ron." I say, remembering all the times we've pranked them.

"I wonder were they are? If Harry and Ron are not with Hermione that means they missed the train." Ginny said, looking worried.

"I'm sure they'll turn up at school, dad will put them on the KnightBus if they missed the train." I said shrugging, knowing they won't miss school.

"You're right, I'm just hoping they didn't do something stupid." She said.

But knowing those two, they probably have done something stupid. After awhile, a lady come by with a food trolley, we bought a load of stuff. I offered Luna some chocolate frogs and she smiled and took one with a thank you. We just sat and talked about random stuff, Luna really likes magic creatures. She was telling us all about searching for undiscovered creatures, with her dad.

It was actually quite interesting, she was talking about Nargals, and how her necklace wards them off. I'm just listening to Luna, when Hermione entered again.

"We're nearly there, you should put on your robes. Oh and I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Hermione Granger, and you are?" She asked looking at me.

"I'm Claire Black and this." I say, pointing to Luna. "Is Luna Lovegood, pleased to meet you."

"So you're Claire, Harry has told me about you. He said we would get along well." She said with a smile.

"Oh do you like to research as well?" I asked, excited to have another mind to bounce things around.

"Eh no I just study, I read a lot." She said, embarrassed.

"Oh have you never thought about researching then?" I say, feeling a bit sad.

"No I prefer to just learn, not make." She said, even more embarrassed.

Well that's sad, I get up to grab my robes and put them on. While Hermione and Ginny were talking, I just continued to talk to Luna, who is far more interesting then Hermione. We then feel the train slowing down.

"Well it was nice meeting you two, and seeing you again Ginny." She said, leaving with a wave.

"So what do you think?" Ginny asked, once Hermione left.

"Kinda boring to be honest, she doesn't have any of her own ideas, just blindly follows what a book says." I answer, hoping she might change for Harry's sake.

"I don't think she's that bad." Ginny said with a slight smile.

As I shrug, the train stops and we get off. I hear a booming voice.

"Firs' years, firs' years over here." Said a giant beaded man, I know. "This way ev'ryone."

"Hi Hagrid." I said, waving to him.

"Hello Claire, come on ev'ryone I got summat beau'iful ter show yeh." He said walking away.

We follow Hagrid to a bunch of boats.

"No more than four ter a boat." He said, getting into one that he just managed to inside.

Me, Ginny and Luna got in the same boat, it seems we are the only ones on this boat. We watch as Hogwarts comes into view, Hagrid was right, it's beautiful. I randomly decide to use my eye ability and the castle has a magic signature, how is that possible? It's the most complex signature I've ever seen, did mum see this? I've got to send her a letter.

"What's wrong?" Ginny asked, looking worried.

"It's the school, it has a magic signature. You know what that means?" I asked, with an excited smile.

"The school is alive? But how it's just a building?" Ginny asked, confused about it all.
