The Meddlesome Duo

The young Ignis walks stagnant through the halls of his school. Going through the motions of day to day life. A boy trips him as he walks through the halls, his friends sniggering at his sorry state. Textbooks and papers clatter and flutter through the halls.

"Why couldn't you do us a favor and pass on like your father! You're a waste of air." The boy giggle's walking past he steps on the papers and textbooks.

"Like you'd know anything about loss," Ignis mutters to himself, after they passed by. scrambling he picks up his things making his way out of the school he starts to run.

They'll never understand my loss, Ignis struggles to keep his composure. Coming up to a park he darts into the trees. Climbing up a rickety ladder to a tree house he falls back into the chair made of old cushions. He leans back closing his eyes and breathing to calm himself.

Sirens go off in the distance, a warning of yet another gate opening, closing his eyes Ignis ignores it. Reaching into his jacket pocket, he slowly spin the bottle in his hand.

I know you wished for me to only use this when in danger, but I cannot wait any longer to see what this is suppose to do. Ignis think's as he unscrews the cap, pressing it to his lips he drinks all of the container. The warm liquid slowly trailing down his throat and filling his belly with a warmth. The heat slowly increases, the feeling extending along his veins and bone's. His gasps in pain, biting his lip hard enough to draw blood. Eventually he succumbs to the pain letting out an agonized scream.

As tears and snot flow down his face, he collapses to his knees holding his stomach. His vision rimmed black as he slowly loses conscious. As his eyes flutter close, the figure of a Chiselled man appears in his vision. The man's hand places atop his head sending him into a deep slumber.

"This is all I can do to ease your pain, Young Ignis. The rest is up to you to process through." The man says, gently he picks Ignis up. Placing him on the cushions, he vanishes in a brilliant flash of light.

Ignis sit's ramrod straight when he awakens, gazing at his hand's which appear larger than before. "Does this mean I've awakened...?" he asks no one in particular. Clenching his fist he stand's staring out the window into the dim night sky. Yet another moonless night, yet the stars twinkle brightly as ever day.

Moving to a small telescope he gazes most of his night away, spotting out constellations he smiles. What do I do now that I've awakened? Should I go straight to a hunters association, or should I just wait. He lean's back sighing at the sky.

In the hunter's association room, the three hunters lounge about. Eric and Jerald both sleeping in their chair's, Elaine still holding the little girl with a gentle look in her eyes.

A woman with shimmering skin and shining silver hair, appears before Elaine, "Please do not shout, I would hate to awaken the other's." A soothing voice flows from the woman's mouth.

Elaine tenses in her seat, turning her body she places herself in between the child and herself. "Who are you?"

A soft sigh resounds through the room, "My name is Selene Lunaria. You hold in your hand's my Kin, relax for I simply wish to help her process her awakening. There lies another child to a town in the north, albeit troublesome he has recently awakened. Please find him, before it is too late." She moves forward gracefully yet faster then Elaine's eyes can follow. Selene gently place's a hand on Stella's head, her breathing evens' out immediately. The heat that had been emitting from her body disappears as a gentle glow fills the room. "I leave them to your nurturing hands." Selene places two fingers on Elaine's forehead. Elaine slumps back into the chair in a deep sleep. Selene disappears from the room, never be seen again.
