The Spectator's Perspective

The sky was dyed crimson, and monsters wreaked havoc and killed everyone in their path. Winged beings like demons and angels descended from the skies and left debris from cities in their way. While watching this disaster, Ian Froda, on his way home from work, muttered in an almost inaudible tone. "Isn't this..a scene from my novel?" A novel he once wrote but never published. It became a reality before him, or maybe saying he wrote a novel about something happening might be correct. While he was in shock, a building fell on him, covering his vision in darkness. ____ After waking up from sleep, Ian looked at the date and time and was shocked beyond belief. "2018?!"...isn't it 2024?"... ... Not only did he write a novel about something that was happening, but he also somehow went back in time... ________________________________________________________ **THE ABOVE COVER ART DOES NOT BELONG TO ME. Mysterious Voice

Ian's eyes were blinded as he entered the principal's office, and he covered them with his hands.

A few moments later he slowly opened his eyes and found himself on the rooftop of a skyscraper.

He exclaimed in shock as he looked around.

'Ugh... How did I get here?'

The air currents were too fast where he stood almost making him fall.

Ian tried to grab onto something around him and tightened his grip on a nearby steel rod before looking around himself in confusion.

It didn't take long for him to notice an elderly man in a vintage-styled suit and a monocle standing on the edge of the rooftop, calmly gazing down at the crowds on the streets below.

Ian also tried to look down but seeing how people looked like ants from his current height amplified his fears.

Osiris then turned away from the crowds and looked at Ian for a moment before tapping the ground with his scepter.

In the blink of an eye, Ian found himself sitting on a chair in the principal office.

Ian then looked at Osiris, puzzled.

He knew Osiris had a spatial treasure, but Ian does not know how he got teleported to that skyscraper.

Osiris seemed to notice Ian's confusion and chuckled.

"It's my way of relaxing... It calms me to see naive people going about their lives, stressed about idiotic things, not worried about their survival maybe... that's the bravery of the foolish"

Osiris appeared nostalgic as he spoke, but he snapped out of it in no time and inspected Ian.

"Hmm, you're fully recovered... Good, then we can start from today," Osiris muttered, nodding his head.

"Do you know what an ability is?"

When Ian heard this question, he paused for a moment before responding.

"An Ability? You mean a Mind practitioner's ability? If I am not wrong, then it's a use of mind power and mind. "

Ian gave a vague answer because he knew nothing about it.

'If you don't know what to say, sounding ambiguous is better than saying I don't know...'

Ian learned this from his coworkers at that shady company. Most coworkers at that company used this trick when talking to their boss.

He can still recall the moment he witnessed the interactions between those coworkers and their boss... He couldn't determine who was more foolish and incompetent.

Osiris didn't seem to mind Ian's ambiguous answer as he simply nodded his head.

"An ability is indeed a type of usage of mind and mind power... But to be more specific. It's a type of power derived from 'State'."

"Emotion-Reading, for example, is the most commonly learned ability in Red grade. This was derived from the Heart Astute state. And, following the red grade, the abilities of the orange and yellow grades are also similar... They are all about reading the mind."

' I see! So that's how it is!'

Ian understood what Osiris was talking about and couldn't help but get excited.

For some unknown reason, Ian was unfamiliar with everything related to Mind cultivation.

He can't recall anything about Mind cultivation no matter how hard he tried and began to wonder if he even wrote it in the novel.

As a result, everything related to Mind cultivation felt new and intriguing to him.

Of course, he could vividly recall some information about Mind cultivation, but they were from later stages and were not related to the mortal stage.

Ian put these thoughts at the back of his head and began to pay more attention to Osiris.

Osiris caught sight of Ian's enthusiasm and nodded in satisfaction.

He didn't have enough time to waste on some carefree fool, but if it's a diligent person, he wouldn't mind wasting a few more minutes.

"Hmm... Since you are so excited, let me teach you a hidden ability. It's called 'True Vision' " Osiris said while smiling proudly.

"Hidden abilities are considered secrets that weren't disclosed to normal Mind practitioners. Moreover this one was specially created by me."

Osiris was especially proud of this ability, not only is it unique but it isn't restricted by 'state'.

This means whether it be a red grade or purple grade mind practitioner...anyone can learn it.

'An ability created by Osiris!? ' When Ian heard this, he became more interested in it.

He knew there were things like Hidden abilities, but he never expected to get the opportunity to learn one so quickly.

Ian was about to question Osiris about this ability.

But before he could question, a beam of white light was shot from Osiris' fingertips and entered his glabella.

He blinked his eyes in incredulity for a few seconds and then detected a new stream of memories in his head.

"I don't have enough time to teach every ability to you until you learned them ... So I made an inheritance of the abilities in the first three grades. You can go back now and practise them yourself, come back if you have any questions."

Osiris stated, But he seemed to notice something and turned his head in a direction while frowning.

Ian didn't detect this, as he was more concerned with something else.

Inheritance!

It's something that can only be made by Mind practitioners above the mortal stage!

An inheritance is a direct infusion of ability, knowledge, or any piece of particular information into the mind.

This means there is no need to specifically memorize something.

Anything that was infused into the mind using this method will always exist in the form of memory. It's impossible to forget it under normal circumstances.

While getting this inheritance filled Ian with elation, he heard Osiris scoff.

"It seems like there are some pests that don't know their place... "Osiris muttered in dissatisfaction and then gazed at Ian.

"Don't neglect to learn any ability just because it seems useless and consume treasures to raise your grade once you've learned the abilities that you can learn at your current grade… From now on, Don't come to the principal office until I call you myself," Osiris said, and tapped the ground with his scepter.

"What do you mean? Is something wrong?" asked Ian in puzzlement.

Ian didn't understand why Osiris said that and couldn't help but question him.

{HA Outcast! Come out right now.}

Ian was startled out of his wits when he heard that voice.

Osiris snorted when he heard that and didn't care to answer Ian, but once again tapped on the ground using the scepter in his hand.

The scepter spread a strange ripple with it at the center.

This peculiar sight entranced Ian and by the time he became conscious, he found himself back in his dorm room.

It took a few seconds for him to recover from the shock and nausea caused by the spatial teleportation. But once he became normal, he began to consider something else.

'Who was that?'

Ian got curious about the owner of the voice that had been directly transmitted to his mind.

The owner of that voice must at least be Osiris's equal since he can talk with him so nonchalantly.

'Lets think about it later… I need to check this inheritance first.'

Ian focused for a moment and found the memories related to inheritance before reading them with relish… he was curious if there were hidden abilities in them.
