The war in Northumbria was intensifying and the Vikings emerged victorious thanks to Ragnar's quick thinking alongside Tyr, Northumbria fell to two men which was unprecedented.
But they had no way to return home, that was the problem because they were stuck here.
Osberht was on his way here as well but would the Vikings hold out until then?
That was the important question because night had come and everyone was on guard.
They couldn't rest and this was bad considering the mental fatigue it would cause for the already tired Vikings.
They had to shuffle shifts among themselves so at least some of them would be rested but their numbers once again were a negative.
The more places they had to watch, the less likely that this method would be effective and this was what the enemy was banking on.
