Bruce on the dancefloor

Bruce decided to go for the blonde girl who was closest to him.

“I have to start somewhere,” he told himself.

So, he bowed in front of the blonde in the black dress and when he straightened up, he held out his hand to her. She blushed and placed her hand in front of her mouth as she giggled.

Mishka didn’t giggle at all in the woods, so he could not figure out whether it was her.

He took the girl’s hand firmly in his and began to twirl her around on the dance floor.

“So, have you been here before?” he asked after the first few twirls.

“In this mansion?” the girl asked. “No, I don’t think so. I would have remembered the grandeur if I had,” she replied with a light-hearted giggle.

“The voice is almost like hers and yes, she hasn’t been here before,” Bruce told himself.

“It seems as if you go out a lot,” he remarked with a charming smile. He hoped that if this was Mishka, that she would appreciate his charm.

“I do go out a lot, yes,” the girl agreed. He could tell that she was smiling behind her mask.

“So then, I guess that you don’t have an average job, like working in an office and nothing else?” Bruce asked.

“No, I’m a professional dancer,” she replied in a self-confident, but polite tone.

“Oh and anything else besides dancing?” Bruce asked.

“No, I really just dance. Why? Did it look like I did something like admin work or something?” the girl asked.

“No, I just feel like I’ve met you somewhere else before,” Bruce responded.

“Okay, I get that a lot,” the dancer giggled.

“No, I mean, seriously. I met someone who sounds a bit like you and with the same hair color, just yesterday,” Bruce responded in a sincere tone.

“I would have remembered that,” the girl giggled as Bruce twirled her around again.

“Okay, then. Maybe I’m just imagining that your voice sounds like hers. She’s a singer actually,” Bruce remarked with another charming smile.

“If it is her then surely she would admit to being a singer now?” he asked himself hopefully.

“Nope, I can’t sing to save my life,” the girl replied, shaking her head slowly, as if she regretted having to disappoint him.

“But, are you expecting this singer lady here tonight?” she asked.

“Actually not. I was just fascinated by your hair color that’s the same as hers,” Bruce responded with a backward glance at Lyle who was dancing with someone else, somewhere behind him.

“Oh, there’s a girl in red with the same hair color over there,” the girl responded, nodding her head towards Mishka, who was busy talking to a group of his models.

“Okay, yes. I guess that I will have to dance with her next then,” Bruce responded with an amused grin on his face.

“Luckily there’s only two of us here, otherwise you would have your work cut out for you,” the girl giggled.

“I guess it doesn’t make much sense, since you’re wearing a mask, but could you at least tell me your name so that I don’t feel like a blabbering fool?” Bruce asked. He felt a need to be polite after clearly indicating that he was not really interested in his present dance partner.

“My name is Page and that’s my dance teacher, Freddy over there,” she responded nodding in Freddy’s direction. Freddy was also busy chatting to the models.

“Oh, great, then I suppose that I will see your face anyway at some point when you’re having another dance show for me,” Bruce responded with a friendly grin.

“Oh, yes and meanwhile it’s good to keep the mystery going on unless you go and look me up as Page in the dance group website,” Page laughed.

“Okay, I promise not to sneak around. I will ask you about yourself if we met again,” Bruce replied as the music stopped. He then bowed and kissed the back of her hand.

This time around, Page gave a slight curtsey in return.

“Thank you for the dance, Page. I hope to get to see your face soon,” Bruce responded with another quick flash of his brilliant smile. He was surprised by her curtsey and did not know exactly how to respond.

Page just waved at him.

Bruce looked at the girl in the bold red pantsuit. The singer did not look bold enough to be wearing something like that,” he told himself nervously as he approached Mishka and the group of models.

“But, if she’s a professional musician then she must be used to wearing bold outfits like that,” he told himself. He did not know why he was feeling nervous and sweaty at the prospect of possibly meeting Mishka again tonight.

“Hey there Bruce!” some of the models called out when they saw him. He waved at them in return and then turned his attention to the masked lady in front of him.

He bowed low and held out his hand because the next song was starting to play.

“Good evening, may I have this dance?” he asked.

Mishka nodded and held her hand out to him. He was not sure whether she was smiling behind the mask, but he took her hand and led her onto the dance floor.

Bruce held his breath as he twirled her around. She improvised by making a few dance moves of her own, swinging her hips and tossing her head from side to side as she danced.

“I’m Bruce and I’m not sure whether we have met before?” Bruce began.

Mishka merely nodded and continued to dance. She seemed to be very happy just to be dancing and Bruce wondered whether she was really just gonna dance and not talk.

“Well, have we met?” he tried again.

Mishka responded by raising her shoulders in a slow shrug.

“Okay, so I guess that I’m going to be guessing all night?” Bruce responded. He was surprised by her reaction. He did not expect her to not speak at all.

“What can it be? Did she perhaps lose her voice? Maybe she got caught up in that rain yesterday and caught a cold in her throat?” he wondered.

“But she doesn’t look sick at all. Is she just very shy to talk? She can’t be mute can she?” Bruce asked himself.

He continued to dance with her and got himself ready for his next question. He really felt challenged because nobody had done this to him before.

So, Bruce also swayed his hips as he danced, so that he could look calm and at ease with the situation.

Just before he spoke again though, a thought occurred to him.

“Maybe it is her, that’s why she’s afraid to let me hear her voice?” he wondered suddenly.

“Oh, then that means that she’s really here and she came to pop in after all. But so soon and without telling me?” he asked himself.

“But then she’s not visiting me because she clearly doesn’t want me to even know that she’s here, apparently.

Then what is she doing here then. If it is her?” he asked himself. He frowned slightly in confusion as he watched her dancing freely in front of him. She really looked sexy in her red pantsuit and mask.

Bruce decided to wait with his next question. He smiled and twirled her around again.

Mishka continued to show that she actually just wanted to dance and Bruce watched her moves as he made his own dance moves.

“We actually dance well together,” he told himself. No one is taking dominance. We’re both giving each other a chance to lead the dance,” he told himself happily.

“By the way, why did you choose to wear a fox mask?” Bruce asked next before he could stop himself.

It had just occurred to him that she was actually wearing a fox mask.

“Does it mean that she’s interested in wolves, or does she want to be half-wolf herself?” he asked himself. The others would have told him about her if she was an actual wolf.

Mishka merely shrugged again in response and giggled as she turned around in circles, since Bruce had briefly left her hand.
