Chapter 42 : Stormy Weather

In the mansion's living room, Stefan sat with Lily, watching the news on a huge TV. The corner of his mouth curled up in a chilling grin. "Wonderful."

Three hours later, rain pounded heavily against the mansion as Agent Beetle and Agent Hedgehog crept through the garden, their movements synchronized and silent.

The mansion's henchmen, oblivious to the approaching danger, were patrolling the area. Beetle and Hedgehog communicated through a series of precise hand signals, their training evident in their fluid cooperation.

One by one, they silently eliminated the guards with guns equipped with silencers. As they moved closer to the mansion, the eerie stillness of the garden was punctuated only by the muted thuds of bodies hitting the wet ground. They reached a balcony where two henchmen were laughing about the agents being tortured in the basement.

Hedgehog signaled Beetle to avoid using guns and instead take a more silent approach. With superhuman strength, Beetle leaped onto the balcony, catching the henchmen off guard. He swiftly broke their necks, the sound of bones snapping barely audible over the rain. The henchmen's laughter turned into silent screams as they slowly succumbed.

Meanwhile, back at Chris's house, Letty was cleaning up Chris's room. "I'm sorry about the all mess. Chris hasn't been home for a long time," she said, giving Joy an apologetic smile.

Joy nodded understandingly. "It's okay, Mrs. Alcantara."

"Chris, you'll be sleeping on the sofa downstairs," Letty instructed.

Chris agreed with a nod. After Letty finished cleaning, she bid them goodnight and left the room. Chris set up the pillows and blanket for Joy. "Goodnight, Joy," he said, about to leave.

"Wait," Joy called out softly.

Back at the mansion, Beetle and Hedgehog had entered through the balcony, carefully scanning the area. Henchmen were scattered throughout the mansion, unaware of the intruders. Hedgehog pointed out the guards, and Beetle nodded, understanding the plan.

They distracted the guards one by one, silently taking them out with expert precision. The mansion's dark corridors echoed with the muffled sounds of scuffles and bodies dropping. As they moved deeper, they spotted four henchmen carrying crates and followed them down to the basement.

The basement was dimly lit, with the sound of rain muffled by thick walls. Beetle and Hedgehog hid in the shadows, watching as the henchmen placed the crates down. Their eyes widened as they saw the two S.A.C agents being tortured, their screams echoing in the confined space. In the corner of the room, a large cage stood ominously, red eyes glowing from within.

Back at Chris's house, Joy hesitated before speaking. "Chris, can.. Can you stay here?with me?... I-I can't sleep alone."

Chris hesitated, remembering the time Joy had begged him to stay with her at the hotel. He saw the same fear in her eyes. "Alright," he said softly, lying down on the floor.

Joy, her face hidden behind a pillow, spoke again. "Don't sleep on the floor. It's cold. Please, W-we can share this bed... Tog-together."

Chris blushed, stuttering. "I... I-I don't want to bother you."

But when he saw Joy's wide, sad eyes, he couldn't refuse. He slowly got up and lay on the bed beside her. They both blushed, awkwardly avoiding each other's gaze.

In the mansion's basement, Beetle and Hedgehog prepared for the inevitable confrontation. Hedgehog found the switch for the mansion's power and flipped it, plunging the basement into darkness. The henchmen panicked, shouting and scrambling for their weapons.

Beetle moved like a shadow, his powerful blows incapacitating the guards with ease. He ducked under a wild punch, delivering a bone-crushing strike to his attacker's ribs. Hedgehog, swift and precise, used his agility to outmaneuver the henchmen, his fists and feet a blur of lethal motion.

The basement became a battlefield. Beetle and Hedgehog fought with a brutal efficiency, their movements synchronized.

A henchman lunged at Beetle with a knife, but Beetle grabbed his arm, twisting it until the knife clattered to the floor. He finished the man with a punch that sent him sprawling.

Hedgehog, facing two guards at once, dodged their attacks with a dancer's grace.

He kicked one in the knee, causing him to collapse, and then elbowed the other in the throat, dropping him instantly. The fight was a symphony of violence, each movement calculated for maximum impact.

As the last of the henchmen fell, Beetle and Hedgehog approached the tortured agents. "Hang in there," Beetle muttered, cutting their restraints. The agents, barely conscious, were too weak to respond.

The large cage in the corner rattled, the glowing red eyes inside watching them intently. Beetle and Hedgehog exchanged a glance, knowing their mission was far from over.
