Chapter 191: Dropping off the Kids

The car ride to her parents' house was full of noisy kids in the backseat and Carter not saying much of anything to Ariana. It took them less time than usual to get to her parents' house. Carter didn't know if that was due to him being in a hurry to get his ex-wife alone or if it was due to traffic being on his side. Probably the latter.

He grabbed the kids' bags from the back and carried them to the front door, watching the kids scream and hug their grandparents. Ariana smiled at them and gave her parents each a hug. Carter froze as they stared at him with an irritated expression. He awkwardly smiled and passed her father Josh's bag.

"Hello, sir." Carter waved at Ariana's father, and the man just huffed at him and turned inside. Carter cringed and Ariana took his hand, bringing it up to kiss the back of it.

"He'll come around." Ariana weakly smiled.

"I don't think he is going to, Ari." Carter sighed and grabbed the door for her, holding it open. "Ladies first."
