A Nanny's delight

It was a Saturday morning. Valerie was prepared for work, and walked out of the room. She had turned down her father's offer of her living with them at the Watson's Residence. Apart from the fact that she was comfortable living with her friends, she had fallen in love with her work. Of course, she wouldn't want to leave the little, adorable child.

She took some bites of the toasted bread before picking up her purse, and rushing to the door. "I'm off, guys".

"Alright. See you later".

Luckily, she got a cab on stepping out of the apartment. "The Davison's villa"

"Okay miss" The driver zoomed off.

In a few minutes, she was already in the mansion. She walked straight to the servant's quarter where she changed into her uniform, and folded her hair in a bun.

"Good morning, Val" The voice made her flinch, and turned swiftly.

Valerie smiled nervously and said, "Good morning, Clara. You startled me".

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I think you should go to work immediately so that you wouldn't get scolded" Clara walked out with the mopping stick and bucket.

"Sure".

Valerie knocked on the door two consecutive times before hearing the tiny voice that said, "Come in".

She walked into the room, and saw little Audrey. She was busy playing games with the iPad she was holding.

"Miss old-fashioned" She giggled, and Valerie shook her head with a warm smile. For some reason, she really likes the nickname Audrey had given to her.

"Hi, Audrey. How are you doing?" Valerie walked to her, and patted her hair softly. She quickly took her hand to make sure the cut had been properly treated. Fortunately, it had already healed.

"Thank goodness! At least the cut is healed now. I just hope I don't keep getting into trouble".

"It's been so terrible, that annoying teacher, she keeps scolding me every time. Miss old-fashioned, could you please convince my daddy that I don't want a weekend home tutor?" Audrey cried out.

"Uhm… Audrey darling, you know I would have loved to help you out, but your daddy won't listen to me. I'm already on his bad side after what happened the other day" Valerie bit her lip hard.

Audrey chuckled, and shook her head. "I know that my daddy looks so mean, but trust me he's a nice guy. I'm sure you'll get along with him soon".

"I hope so" She mumbled.

Audrey got up from the sofa, and picked up the timetable paper. "Here. You have to check my schedule for today".

Valerie nodded her head, and took the paper from her. "It's your shopping day?"

"Really? I think I have an idea. It's time we get you some fashioned dresses. I'm sorry if this sounds offensive, but you're really so old-fashioned" Audrey chuckled, and Valerie grabbed her.

"You…" She tickled her, and she laughed so hard. "Oh, Miss old-fashioned, why don't you like hearing the truth?"

Some minutes later, Valerie and Audrey walked downstairs. Audrey was already dressed up for the shopping. As soon as they stepped out of the mansion, the security guards who were standing outside directed them to the already opened Lamborghini in front of them. Valerie was marveled.

"Is this how it feels to be born with a silver spoon? This is beautiful".

"My lady" The driver brought him palm to Audrey who climbed into the car, holding his hand. Valerie got into the car as well, and the driver speeded out of the villa.

"Hey, Mr. Tom. Where's my credit card?" Little Audrey narrowed her eyes.

"Here, Miss" The driver handed the card to Valerie.

Likewise, they got to the mall and started shopping. Valerie couldn't help but think the little girl was the mini version of her. They had so much in common that sometimes they even say the same things.

Audrey sat on the couch, and turned her gaze to the attendant. "Ma'am, enough for my shopping. I want you to get some really nice dresses for my Miss old-fashioned".

"Miss old-fashioned?" The attendant arched her brows, and Valerie laughed nervously. "My bad! She's talking about me".

"Oh. Right away, miss" The attendant stepped out, and they shared a laugh.

Valerie walked out of the inner room dressed in a brand new red gown and black heels. "How do I look?"

Audrey stared at her in disapproval, and tut, shaking her head in disagreement. "This isn't impressive. Try another one".

"Oh, Audrey, I've been trying so many dresses on. Gosh! I'm so tired already. We've chosen three, isn't that enough?" Valerie scratched her head, and the little girl pouted her mouth.

"Miss old-fashioned, You're going to be looking gorgeous after this. Go on, and try more dresses on, hmm?"

"Fine"

Putting on another dress, Valerie unwillingly walked out of the room. Audrey gasped with smiles all over her face.

"Beautiful" She clapped her hands in satisfaction. Valerie shook her head, and thought within herself.

"Is this girl really six years old? She's really so intelligent".

"It's time for your makeover, Miss old-fashioned" She laughed excitedly, leaving Valerie confused.

"Makeover? What are you talking about, Audrey?" She blinked her eyes rapidly, and Audrey chuckled.

Unwilling, Valerie sat on the stool as the makeup artist applied makeup on her face. She was already putting on a designer dress. They had her hair rolled up, and curled beautifully. Audrey couldn't help but sing excitedly. She just wanted her Miss old-fashioned to look pretty, even for a day.

"Mirror, please" Audrey turned to the lady, who handed the mirror to her. Valerie couldn't help but gasp on looking in a mirror. For a moment, she couldn't believe she looked so beautiful.

Tears circulated in her eyes, and she covered her mouth with her palms. This is the first time in her life to look this beautiful. "Don't shed a tear, Miss old-fashioned. You'll ruin the makeup" Audrey feigned anger.

"Thank you, baby" Valerie hugged her tightly.

Meanwhile, President Ethan walked into the mansion with his suit hung on his arm. It was an exhausting day at the office.

"Good evening, President" The servants chorused. He only nodded his head without saying a word.

"A glass of tonic water, President" The other servant handed the glass to him. He took the tonic water, and drank a little before heading to the stairs.

"We're back!" It was little Audrey's tiny voice.

The President turned swiftly, and his jaw dropped on seeing the stunning woman who his daughter's little fingers were wrapped around her hand.
