Chapter 20

I just stood there in the middle of the highway in my pajamas.  I started walking, thinking that there was no point in counting where I was.  I had no idea where I was going.  I started praying that the city center, residential area, or any house would appear before me.  I was constantly checking to see if a car was coming after me.

I don't know how many hours I walked, but my feet were having trouble carrying me.  I was a long way from where I came from.  I got down on my knees.  My senses were completely turned off.  I couldn't feel or hear.

I put my hands on the asphalt.  I wanted to cry, but even that was out of my mind.

I tried to open my eyes.  My body was starting to thaw like ice and I was lying in a very comfortable bed.  He was in the hospital and I don't remember how I got here.  It didn't matter to me how I got here.  I was saved.
