Legend of the sea

"I'm home!" I said while taking of my sandals and placing them near the others.

As I walk inside the house I could already smell the food being cooked by Autie grace! I couldn't help but salivate as I walk towards the kitchen and ask what's for lunch.

"Welcome home!" She said while smiling at me and then hurriedly looked back at the food she was cooking.

"What's for lunch auntie? It smells nice!" I said while walking towards her and also grabbing an apron.

After wearing the apron and tying it at my waist I then looked at what's inside the pot."This is..."

"That's right! Pinakbet!" Said Auntie Grace heartily. She then took a spoon and scooped some of the soup from the dish and handed it over to me.

After seeing her actions I quickly held the spoon towards my mouth and tasted it." Oishi!" I said while touching my cheeks.

After a while the pinakbet that Auntie grace was cooking is finally cooked. After preparing the table and dishes we diggedin on our food while also chatting about what I did this morning.

"Ohhh so you went to the guardian tree of Hoshi no Umi?" Asked Auntie with a surprised face.

"Yes, is there something about that tree auntie grace?" I asked with curiosity.

"Well let me tell you about an old legend here at Hoshi no Umi." Said Auntie grace with a smile on her face

"In the past our ancestors believed that the whole ocean is only one entity and everything inside it is part of that entity."

" and then what happened?" I asked curiously while putting down my spoon and fork so that I could focus on Auntie Grace's story.

"The ocean was enraged because we humans started destroy it! Because of our greed and actions the ocean went on a rampage! Tsunamis over a a hundret feet tall began to ravage ships in the oceans and shores at land! The gods seeing the ocean's rampage took pity on us humans and decided to send a human like creature to appease the ocean's anger. It was said that this person could transform itself into half human and half fish, and with it's voice it let the ocean fall into a deep sleep."

"Ehhh... don't tell me that this creature is a mermaid?" I asked with a hint of curiosity on my face.

Mermaids are know to be half human and half fish like creatures but according to myths, mermaids are evil creatures who lure their victims with their voice underneath the sea where they would feast on their flesh!

"That's right. A mermaid. But the story isn't finish yet. According to the stories if ever the ocean would once again awaken from its slumber, the mermaid would have make the ocean fall asleep once again. If not... it would mean the end of the world."
