Frazier and I had a long talk afterward about everything that happened. We were all sitting at the island in the kitchen, eating, laughing, and talking. He told me everything while the other two munched on their sandwich.

I said little except let him do all the talking. He explained dealing with the drinking of his ‘sperm donor.’ He refers to his father and the hits. Most of the time, he tried to protect his mom. I nodded, letting him know I’m listening to every word he’s saying.

Frazier told me how he used his sense of humor to cover what was happening. He became friends with Ryan and Jordan and hated being a child prodigy. I couldn’t blame him for how he was feeling. Carrying around a secret is exhausting. I know I did it for years.

After he finished, it was my turn. If they trusted me with this secret, then I must trust them with mine. That would be the first time I told anyone. Not even my parents knew.
