I came home from school and set my bag down. Another year, another year of bullying, and I hate it here because I have no friends.

Dad was on his twentieth job. We had to worry whether he would keep this one or not. My dad spent more time at the casinos than at home and constantly chasing after that next big payout.

I didn’t talk, so people assumed something was wrong with me. But when you have perfect grades and social anxiety, it makes for rough teen years. Not to mention my classmates were complete assholes.

I pulled out Pride And Prejudice, my absolute favorite. I love Mr. Darcy and need a Mr. Darcy in my life. Someone that viewed me for me. Oh, how I yearned for someone like that, and I couldn’t help it. The books I read were tragic romance stories, and I lost myself in them.
