After Thanksgiving, we gave Shay a chance. He wasn’t that bad. Seb and Seth noticed, but they had plans of their own for Lena.

The both of them jumped her, beating the living shit out of her. It’s how they could take her on, knowing she’d lay them both out. Evan and Frisco found her a bloody, crumpled mess in the hallway.

/"Jesus,/" Evan said.

He checked to see if she was breathing.

/"Frisco, call my dad. She’s barely breathing./"

He picked her up and ran with her to the car. He placed her in the backseat and jumped in. Frisco climbed into the passenger side, and they headed to the hospital.

Val and I were playing cards when Dad popped in.

/"Who’s winning?/" Dad asked.

/"Val, only because she cheats,/" I said.

/"I do not!/"

She tapped me.

/"Dad!/" Ryder yelled. /"Evan and Frisco took Lena to the hospital!/"

/"What the fuck?/" Dad asked.
