A long time ago...

Romania, 1873

The wind was howling around Alexander Cazaban as he walked through the forest a late November night.

Tired, and frightened by the dark, he passed unwillingly through the forest, which was the only way back to the castle where he couldn't be seen.

As the darkness consumed him, Alexander pulled the collar closer against his neck when the wind circled around him, biting his skin.

A crack coming from off the trail caused Alexander to stop with a racing heart inside his chest. He could sense a presence around him, and the fear of a large animal who had been attacking villagers was alarming him.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" Alexander shouted towards the direction he had heard the cracking coming from, determined to scare the animal away.

Alexander heard another crach and he raised the lantern he was holding in his hand.

He was terrified.

"Have you ever wondered about immortality?" A voice whispered in the wind, and Alexander gobbled nervously, "Who's out there?" Alexander asked again and went a step backwards.

"I may be your savior, or your worst nightmare," murmured a voice in Alexander's ear. Alexander turned around with a beating heart. "Who's out there?" He yelled when he saw no one behind him, and he began to back off again. He was terrified, and his legs began to tremble.

"Good evening, Alexander," the figure of a man standing before him caused Alexander to freeze. "My name is Christian Petrov. And have you ever?"

Christian went on, and Alexander found himself confused,

"Have I ever?" He asks with a ridged brow, "Asked yourself about immortality, of course!" Christian said and took a step forward.

"That's impossible. Nobody can live forever," stuttered Alexander, making Christian smile, "But it is possible, your highness; I have lived for four hundred years."

Alexander shook his head in unbelief, "How can that be?" he whispered, and his heart was pounding in his chest as Christian leaned forward next to his ear,

"I have survived by feeding off humans," Christian then revealed a demonic face with sharp fangs and Alexander's screams faded into the dark night when Christian sunk his fangs into his neck.
