What Is His Weakness?
"I see that you have had a change of heart, Lady Beatrice," Aleksander said to the noble lady. "I don't want to barge into your mind, so might you explain to me why this is so?"
With that single sentence, Aleksander was able to convey what he wanted the noble vampire to understand. He was not playing around when he asked her why she had a change of heart. The vampire king was already too suspicious to begin with.
"I will know if you are lying, just to remind you," Aleksander said as he leaned on one foot, his demeanor teasing yet threatening at the same time. "I won't care if you are my wife's lady in waiting, I will have you beheaded the moment I know you are hiding something from us."
Lady Beatrice bowed down her head and responded immediately, "I only come to be of assistance to the throne, your majesty. I swear on my life and on my family's name that I bring no harm to you and Queen Elysianne."
