Father Ugu's fate

"Benard is on his way to the city! Open the gates for him." One of the guards of the Derbias city gates announced.

Immediately the gatekeepers opened the gates of the city and Benard and his men arrived in their horses.

"Welcome to Derbias sir, we have not seen you in a long while. What brings you to our city today? The chief guard of the city gates asked.

"I got information about an old friend and I will like to visit him."

"What is his name sir? " He inquired.

" Check if there is any man who lives inside the red forest here. "

" I don't think so sir I..." And immediately he was punched by Benard's executioner.

" Leave him alone Cain. Father Ugu must have been living here illegally." He said as he lifted the Chief guard up from the floor.

" Let's go brothers and find that old fool." He said as they went out towards the direction of the red forest.

Father Ugu was sitting with his men as a young mistress was massaging his legs outside his house.

"My Lord have you spoken to James since he got to Fadian?" His Chief guard asked.

" We have exchanged some letters but I have not spoken to him in a year." He replied.

" You know that that there are rumours of a raid of Fadian by Benard?" Father Ugu said to his men.

" It is not new sir, everyone knows about it." One of the guards replied.

Father Ugu then excused the mistress and faced his men.

"I believe that we can go to Fadian to help their army defend against Benard." He said

" Did someone just call my name?"

Immediately Father Ugu and his men turned around and saw Benard with his men on horses. Benard then came down from his horse and his men followed suit.

"Benard, how did you find me." He asked with a voice filled with a bit of fear.

"I see you are scared Ugu, but you don't need to be scared. I only came to negotiate." He said with a smile on his face.

" I will not negotiate with you. We have no business together."

Immediately Father Ugu's guards drew their swords.

"You don't need to do that my friend. We can settle this in a more civil manner." He said as he approached him.

Immediately, Father Ugu's men attacked Benard and his men but after a few minutes, all of Father Ugu's men were dead. Cain then grabbed Father Ugu by the collar and threw him on the floor.

"Are you ready to be civil now?" Benard said as he stepped on his face.

Cain then brought out a dagger and stood over him as the rest of the Snake soldiers held him down.

"What do you want from me?"

"You are a great man with great knowledge of many cities. I believe that you can help me to conquer Fadian since you are friends with many of the guards in the city's gates. Why don't you help us take over and you will live a life of affluence."

" I will never forge an alliance with you." He replied stubbornly.

" Well Cain do your work." Benard said.

Cain then grabbed Father Ugu's hand and started cutting each of his fingers as he screamed out in pain.

"Are you ready to be one of us now?"

Despite the pain, he refused to join them. Cain then took his other hand and started cutting his fingers and Benard let out an evil laugh as he watched.

"I will give you one last chance to change your mind. Will you join us old man?" He asked again but he vehemently refused.

" I will rather die." He said as he cried out in pain.

"Well welcome to hell." He said as he gestured to Cain to continue.

Cain then cut off his left hand and stabbed his two eyes. He then took his mutilated body parts, started a fire, went into his house, brought out a pot with water and put his body parts to cook in the pot.

"These cooked body parts will be going to your friend James." Benard said as the other Snake soldiers jeered at him as he lay on the floor helplessly on his pool of blood.

Benard then ordered his men to bury Father Ugu as his body parts were cooking. His men then took his body to the back of the house to bury his weak body.

"I guess we will need his books on the various entry points in the cities." Benard said as he went into the house to find his books.

Cain then brought out the body parts and put them in a sack. He then took one of the fingers and ate it.

Benard then came out with some books and a piece of parchment which he attached to the sack and told one of his men to deliver to Fadian.
