CHAPTER 2: THE GRIND

          After Tae-sun went unconscious he entered a sub-space

created by the system.

        "What is this place? " said Tae-sun, a mysterious voice

responded saying "you're in the system","I thought that I died

and who are you?" said Tae-sun. "My name is Hemiroh,I am a

forgotten god that has lived for more than an eternity" said

Hemiroh, " are you the one who brought me here?" said Tae-

sun,Hemiroh responded saying "i can feel my powers

weakening and I chose you as my descendant","why me" said

Tae-sun. "I simply found you interesting" Hemiroh said in a

playful manner,"even if I were to accept your offer i'm only a

human" said Tae-sun. "Don't worry I have some gifts to help you

on your journey"said Hemiroh, "how am I supposed to trust

you" Tae-sun said as if he was questioning the god. After he

said this he saw a hand come out of the darkness and grab his

head upon contact he saw different symbols that he didn't

understand but felt a connection with them, as he tried to

understand the symbols his brain couldn't handle it causing

him to have a nosebleed. When he saw the symbols all he

heard was Hemirohs' voice saying "good luck my successor".

Tae-sun woke up to find himself lying on the ground in

the middle of the forest, he began checking his body to see if

he was injured anywhere but to his surprise he was all healed

but his clothes were completely torn."I need to find new clothes

before I do anything else" he said, instantly a blue screen

popped up showing him a store function."A set of light

medieval armour (2,000) has been purchased" said system,

"what other functions are there" said Tae-sun. As he was

looking through the system he found an icon titled 'gift', upon

clicking it a blinding blue light appeared above him forming a

black dagger. "Is this the gift Hemiroh was talking about, it

seems pretty basic" said Tae-sun. He tried attacking a tree with

the dagger but could barely make a scratch on the tree, "It

seems i'm not yet ready for it" he said trying to use it as an

excuse for his weakness.He continued searching through the

system and found a stats area after seeing he had twelve stat

points he put three in strength, agility, intelligence and dexterity

individually. He was then trying to think of what to do next by

recalling parts of the novel and decided to head to the Niani

Academy for demigods."I need to get stronger before I

encounter other demigods" said Tae-sun. He then purchased

basic level dagger arts(3,000), mana infusion(6,000) and

enhanced senses(5,000) leaving him with 4,000 gold.He

finished his preparations and went deeper into the forest

looking for monsters but he instead finds Duke who is on the

verge of death fighting a cyclopes he hides himself waiting for

an opportunity and after a short  period of waiting the cyclopes

was showing his back to him so Tae-sun ran up using his mana

infusion and his dagger to stab its' foot causing it to lose

balance and fall Tae-sun climbed its' body and using mana

infusion stabbed his skull with enough force that it reached its'

brain killing it."Are you okay" Tae-sun said, Duke still shocked by

what he saw was unable to answer before Tae-sun collapsed

due to mana exhaustion."Is that really Bryan" said Duke.
