Decided to move on

Tired!

Yes, Tired.. Li Yan was finally tired of everything. Fake smiles, Sugary words, Camera flashes.. Now, she was tired.

Her Family and her brother finally abandoned her. It hurt but it will not anymore from now.

Words hurt and actions prove the depth of betrayal.

She stopped caring for her father long back. Now, there is nothing between her and her brother. Yes, nothing.

Now, she will learn to treasure those who loved her and cared for her instead. She will learn to love herself.

Before, she never cared for herself as much as she cared others. But now everything's going to change. She will treasure herself and those who cared for her.

At this thought, a beautiful smile bloomed on her face. It was a smile free of worries and difficulties and it was a smile of hope and new beginning.

Zhuang Mei's jaw dropped to the floor on seeing this kind of smile on Li Yan's face. How long had it been since she smiled like this?

" Li Yan.." Zhuang Mei spoke carefully as if she was afraid to disturb this beautiful sight before her. But, she had to tell her something and she was not sure how it would affect the girl before her.

' What is it?' Zhuang Mei cleared her throat on seeing those words and then looked at Li Yan with a nervous expression. Li Yan smiled indicating that she would be alright and so Zhuang Mei spoke " Zhi Lan is releasing a new album next month and all the songs are rightfully yours. Now, they are in her hands and she is literally gloating around in happiness."

Zhuang Mei thought that Li Yan would be depressed but Li Yan maintained her calm and stoic expression. But, under that calm facade is a girl with an insatiable thirst for revenge. She will take back everything she was owed.. with interest.

Li Yan simply lowered her head and started writing.

' Let her enjoy all the glory and fame. I will see how her next album will be a success. The higher her fame, the bitter her fall. I will never forget what she did to me.

And Meilin, that girl is the reason for my condition now. She is jealous of me since I was better than her in everything. I will make her realise that I am the best. My success is her downfall and it is the only way the flames in my heart can cool down.

So, let them enjoy for now. They opened a Pandora Box and they will regret it one day..'

Zhuang Mei felt her blood boiling on reading those words. Such sharp words from the gentle and kind Li Yan, is truly new but she liked this version of Li Yan better.

Now, she is no longer the weak and timid girl from before. Maybe, this near to death experience had a huge impact on her than she imagined.

But, it's good that she is in good spirits today. For now, Zhuang Mei was relieved.

' Tell grandfather to come here. I have something I wish to speak with him.' Zhuang Mei immediately made a call to Elder Wen.

" Elder Wen, it's me Zhuang Mei.." the old man on the other side immediately became anxious " What happened to Li Yan?"

" Nothing happened.. She wants to see you." Elder Wen calmed down and his mood brightened up. His granddaughter wanted to see him, so how could he not be happy? He immediately got up and headed towards the hospital.

" He will be here in a short while. He seems to be in a hurry to meet you."

Li Yan smiled as she knew how childish her grandfather can be. But, she adored him.

" What is that you want to speak with him?" Li Yan winked in response to Zhuang Mei's question indicating that it's a secret earning an eye roll from her pretty manager.

" Ladies.. Can I come in?" Li Yan smirked after hearing her old man's words. Such a cheeky old man!

" Elder Wen.." Zhuang Mei was speechless as the old man was making his way towards them without waiting for them to answer.

" Caramel, what is it?" Li Yan frowned and Zhuang Mei started laughing when she heard that name.

Caramel is the nickname her grandfather gave her. When she was young she loved eating caramel chocolates and cakes. Anything in caramel flavour must be in her stomach. Even now her love for caramel chocolates did not subside in the least.

Li Yan's frown slowly disappeared as she smiled softly on remembering how she troubled her grandpa for a caramel chocolate everyday and how the poor old man had to face the scolding of her mother each time they were caught in the kitchen.

Li Yan wrote something and Elder Wen's face turned serious as he read the words. So, he asked her again " Are you serious?"

' Yes, I want to buy Phenomenal studios.'

Zhuang Mei was too shocked to speak as she never saw this coming.

Elder Wen observed his grand daughter for a while before speaking " Why this sudden decision?"

' Because I've decided to move on.'

Elder Wen felt a heavy weight off his shoulder when he saw her words. If she really decided to move on, then it's for the best. So, he nodded with a smile " All right.."

' And I wanted to beak my ties with Li family legally.'

Elder Wen smiled widely on seeing her words as he took a document from his pocket and shoved it into her hands.

Now, it's Li Yan's turn to be speechless. Her grandfather already completed all the legal procedures and now she is not related to that family anymore. But, her name will remain as Li Yan and she didn't worry about it. She's content on knowing that she is officially free from that family.
