Revered Magus Chapter 57 – Damned Dragon

'What? What happened in the spur of confusion, a bright red light came out of the amulet blinding Rio, and causing him to close his eyes, after a couple of seconds Rio opened his eyes, but all he could see was darkness as if he was the only one in this space

After Rio looked around in confusion not seeing anything apart from endless darkness, although Rio was panicking he kept his nerves under control and tried thinking rashly

'I am clearly not in my manor anymore, the last thing I remembered was the amulet blinding me. Does this have something to do with the amulet? Tsk, what a pain' While Rio was trying to figure out his situation he was disturbed by a deep, almost growl-like voice

"Hmmm, I smelt something familiar but turns out it was just you" a mysterious voice echoed, causing Rio to instantly look in all directions since the voice didn't have a distinct direction

Suddenly the seemingly endless dark seemed to change when something slowly opened one of its eyes revealing its blended violet-colored iris with a red interior just circling outside its slitted pupil.

A feeling that Rio hasn't felt since he came to this world appeared although Rio tried as much to suppress this feeling.

"Is this…fear?" Rio scoffed with a slight smirk on his face as he clutched his chest tightly as if the fear would disappear if he continued to do so.

This action didn't go unnoticed by the unknown entity that suddenly came from the ever-surrounding darkness

"Who are you and where am I?" Rio said as he raised his head to look at the pupil, although he felt fear, succumbing to it was a whole other thing

The eyes of the entity lingered on Rio for a while as if analyzing every little detail about Rio and engraving it into its mind

Rio felt a sort of feeling that felt like every little secret of his was being searched through, every fiber of his being was being watched, Although Rio felt discomfort, annoyed, and enraged, he could do nothing against the unknown power being used to search him nor could he do anything against the entity

After a short while the power being used retracted, however, Rio still felt slight discomfort from being examined.

The deafening silence ended with a snort from the entity as the endless darkness started showing some light, revealing the entity that was inspecting Rio.

The entity was revealed to be a gigantic scaled and black dragon that tinges of red in areas such as its horns, tail, and tips of its wings.

"Interesting, it has been over 500,000 years since I was sealed and the one to awaken me is a descendant of our black dragons, fate really is a funny thing," he said as he looked at Rio's wary gaze.

"Worry not child, If I wanted to harm you, I would have done so, it seems fate has brought us together," The Dragon said to calm Rio's clearly fearful state.

'True enough, I can tell he has enough power to kill me with a breath of his, yet I still live, it seems I'm safe…for now, that is" As Rio heard what the dragon said he reasoned with himself and managed to calm himself down slightly.

"Who are you and where am I?" Rio asked once again.

'Even though he's clearly scared he can still maintain his composure…interesting' The Dragon thought before replying.

"My name is Kanur, I am a Black dragon from 500,000 years in the past," Kanur said to Rio in an imposing manner.

'old' a single word popped up in Rio's mind before he continued to listen to Kanur

"As for your second question, since I felt a familiar, I sucked your consciousness into this seal to satisfy my curiosity".

'Curiosity?' Rio thought before saying. "How can I leave?" Rio asked Kanur ever since Rio entered this place a strange feeling of death had lingered around Rio and was making Rio feel very uncomfortable.

"Leave? Entering is an easy thing but leaving is a whole other story" Kanur said to Rio with a scoff slightly.

"But I didn't enter, you sucked me in here" Rio replied with burrowed eyebrows showing an annoyed expression.

"That's where you half wrong half right, I did indeed tell you I sucked your consciousness in here, however, you touched the seal first, did you not?" Kanur said with slight mockery in his tone.

A confused expression appeared on Rio's face as he didn't know what Kanur was talking about before he remembered the last thing that happened before he was sucked into this weird place,

he remembered a strange energy being emitted from somewhere around him so he searched thoroughly when he didn't find anything on his body he emptied his spatial ring and seeing all the different herbs, potions, spirit stones, and clothes, he saw the amulet, suddenly there was a gap in his memory

Rio tried to remember what was missing but all that he received was a nasty headache forcing him to hold his head in pain, ultimately the last thing he remembered was holding the amulet before being sucked here.

"What trick did you use to get me to hold the amulet?" Rio said in a slightly annoyed tone, although he was fuming inside, he wouldn't dare portray it in front of Kanur, who knows if he would snuff him out and do him lashing out.

At this moment Kanur turned into a human form, he had the same color eyes, pale skin, and long slick black hair with red tips.

"There is a way for you to get out though," Kanur said ignoring Rio's previous question.

Rio stared at Kanur in surprise however, he stayed silent waiting for him to continue.

"You see, for over 500,000 years I have been chipping away at this seal and I am able to use my power to affect the outside world, although minuscule, it would take me another 100,000 years or so to fully break this seal, However since you're here, you'll be able to do so, only by breaking this seal can we both leave
