Chapter 7

"Wh-What? Poison?!" Gabriela looked so shocked at Zavier's words. Her whole body was shaking.

When he got enough samples, Zavier bandaged his mother's finger. Inwardly, the man thought to himself, 'Looks like my blacklist just got longer.' His eyes emitted a strong killing aura. 'Uncle Frederick, huh? So he's—-'

KRAK!

Just when Zavier had just finished bandaging his mother's finger and thinking about his uncle, a loud bang from the main room was heard. The commotion also made Zavier see Gabriela running quickly out of the room. The man followed warily as a number of footsteps could be heard approaching.

BRAK!

Before Zavier and Gabriela could reach the door, the main door of their residence was kicked open. A lanky young man in a fancy suit and black pants appeared along with a number of guards.

As he landed on Gabriela, a smug grin was painted on the young man's face as he announced, "Gabriela Forger, today you must come with me and become my wife!" However, when his gaze caught sight of Zavier's figure close to Gabriela, he put on an angry face and cursed, "What a bastard you are, huh?! How dare you approach my future wife!?"

Zavier frowned when he heard the words of the man in front of him, he watched the man and felt confused about who that person was. What was clear was that the man's announcement made Zavier's heart unhappy.

'What kind of man proposes to a girl like a loan shark collecting a debt?' Zavier muttered as he looked at the man flatly.

Not only that, the way he behaved to Zavier made the thin man seem disrespectful and condescending.

"Fuck! How dare you look at me like that?!" The skinny man shouted in annoyance, he looked at Zavier with a fierce face. "Aren't you afraid of me gouging out your eyes?!"

"Watch your filthy mouth!" Gabriela shouted while making a disgusted face. "Who are you calling a future wife, huh? I would never want to marry a son of a bitch like you!"

Hearing Gabriela's defensive words, there was a look of anger in the thin man's eyes. "Ahh... it's true that that bastard is your lover, huh!" He looked at Zavier who looked relaxed.

Zavier's calmness made the thin man upset and his anger ignited. He also passed down orders to his guards.

"Quick, break that man's hand! I want him to know what the consequences are for daring to approach my woman!"

As ordered, a dozen of the skinny man's guards immediately approached Zavier. They surrounded Zavier from all directions.

"Zavier!" Gabriela exclaimed when she saw Zavier's guards. "What should we do?" the girl asked her brother.

Unlike Gabriela, Zavier looked calm. He pulled his sister's hand so that the girl was behind him. "Stay here," Zavier commanded firmly.

"What are you waiting for?!" growled the thin man with burning eyes when he saw Zavier pulling Gabriela's hand. "Attack him!"

Hearing that, without another thought, the dozen guards immediately lunged at Zavier. They tried to attack the man from various directions simultaneously.

BUK! KRAK! CRACK!

"Arghh!"

The heartbreaking sound of a blow rang out, followed by the horrifying thud of a body hitting the floor. Grunts of pain and cries for mercy resounded.

"Wh-what the hell?!"

The thin man widened his eyes. He never expected it to be like this, his guards were being taken down so easily before his eyes!

The thin man's breathing quickened and took a step back. 'W-who is this person?!'

The thin man raised his gaze, then his net met Zavier's black net. A dangerous glint emanated from there and made the thin man's body tremble violently.

'I-I have to escape!' the thin man shouted as he realized that his guards would soon be defeated. However, then he saw the figure of Gabriela who was looking mesmerized at Zavier's figure.

In her place, Gabriela was dumbfounded as she watched her brother take down his enemies. Even if she couldn't see clearly what her brother did to take down the thin man's bodyguard, but Zavier's calm face made her feel amazed.

'Brother... what exactly did you go through in prison?' Gabriela thought with her hands clenched in front of her chest, feeling her heart ache a little at the thought of the torture her brother might have gone through.

Too mesmerized by Zavier, Gabriela was completely unaware that someone was approaching her.

"Ah!" Gabriela cried out as she felt someone grab her wrist. She turned her head and found that it was the thin man. "Let go of me!"

"Gabriela! You have to come with me!" the thin man insisted. "I told my father I wanted to marry you, and although he didn't approve of you being my first wife, he said you could be my second!"

Gabriela's expression turned disgusted. "Get away from me! You're disgusting! Who would want to marry you anyway!?"

Gabriela's continued attempts to break away made the thin man frown, looking angry. "Don't be ignorant! It's good that someone wants to marry a poor woman like—"

"If you don't want to die, let go of my sister right now." A voice growled loudly, distracting the thin man and Gabriela. The two of them turned their heads and found Zavier's figure wearing a hideous face and ready to kill.

'His sister?' The thin man repeated Zavier's words in confusion. However, seeing Zavier approaching him with a thick murderous aura, like a demon approaching prey, the thin man exclaimed, "Don't come any closer if you don't want this woman to get hurt!" He began to strangle Gabriela and threatened Zavier. "One step, and I'll break her neck!"

Hearing this, Zavier's steps stopped for a moment. He looked down at his sister who seemed to be struggling to breathe. The man's heart burned with anger, and he clenched his fists.

In one blink of an eye, Zavier was by the skinny man's side, surprising everyone. "Y-you! Ack!"

Without giving the thin man a chance to speak, Zavier instantly strangled the man, causing him to release Gabriela and try to break free. "This is the correct way to strangle and hold someone hostage." The calmness that enveloped Zavier's voice made the people around him shiver in horror.

Gabriela, who was released from the skinny man's grip, immediately took cover behind her sister. Even if surprised by Zavier's ferocity, but the girl had absolutely no intention of stopping her brother. That skinny man had gone too far!

The thin man resisted the grip of Zavier's strong hands. "Bastard! Let go, or you'll regret it for daring to be so insolent to me!" He thrashed around trying to free himself.

Calmly, Zavier asked, "Who the hell are you?"

"I-I ...," the thin man stammered, "... I am Steve Forger!" His breath caught as he continued, "I am the son of Frederick Forger, one of the richest businessmen in Ascarion!"

Hearing that, Zavier was a little surprised. "Ah... you're Steve Forger." Zavier's tone sounded mocking.

Steve smiled triumphantly as he felt Zavier's surprise. 'Heh, he must be scared to hear father name—'

KREK!

"Arrgghh!"

Before he could finish his inner speech, a loud cry escaped Steve's lips. The man's body-which was released by Zavier-curled on the floor while holding his broken hand. He roared in pain while looking at Zavier fearfully.

Zavier also looked at him coldly. "Wanting your own paternal cousin as a wife, where are your morals?" the man asked in a disgusted tone.

Steve looked very pitiful. The pain made him cry and sob.

Seeing this, Zavier squatted by Steve's side. He held the legs of the man who was trying to get away from him. "Go home, Steve," Zavier said in a deep voice. "Go home and tell your father what happened here." With black eyes that radiated burning vengeance, he said, "Tell him, Zavier Forger is back and will avenge all the good he has done to my family!"
