Chapter 3

The following day,  Mr George sent the money to Mr Robert's account. He called his number to confirm the payment.

" Good morning, Mr Robert." Mr George greeted him.

"Good morning Mr George. How are you doing today?" Mr Robert asked.

"Fine,  thank you. I've sent the money to your account so when should we be especially the crude oil?"

"I will send my boys to bring it to your office before the end of the day." He said as he dipped a cigarette into his mouth.

"OK, sir. I will be expecting it. Enjoy your day." Mr George said.

"You too." They hung up.

(Phone call disconnected)

Mr Robert smiled to himself, he was never going to send his boys to deliver Mr George's crude oil and if he dare complain about it, he's going to get rid of him too.

Mr George grew worried and impatient when he was yet to see anyone from Mr Robert and he was told the he would receive the crude oil before the end of the day. He decided to call Mr Robert again.

"Hello Mr Robert, I'm yet to receive my crude oil." Mr George said as he moved around  his office.

"I'm very sorry about that. There was a little issue that prevented my boys to deliver the oil. They will deliver it unfailingly tomorrow." Mr Robert said.

"Oh... I will be expecting it tomorrow, then." Mr George sat on his deck.

"We are very sorry for the delay." Mr Robert pleaded.

"It's fine. Have a pleasant night rest." Mr George said and hung up.

(Phone call disconnected)

Mr George was kind of worried because this was the first time he would be buying from MGPC and the money used to purchase the crude oil worth a huge amount of money but he tired to be patient. When he got home, Laura was already sleeping in her room. His wife followed him to their bathroom. He looked somehow moody and his wife was able to notice that.

"Sweetheart, are you okay?" Mr George moved closer to her husband.

"Yes, I'm fine." Mr George took of his suit.

"Are you sure? You look moody. This is unlike you." Mr George said further.

"I had to purchased crude oil from MGPC though, this would be my first time of patronising the company. I was left with no choice, I'm yet to receive the crude oil. I was told that I would receive it today but the CEO said they had some issues so I will receive it tomorrow instead. I just hope I get it tomorrow we are already having a lot of petroleum demands."  Mr George worriedly sat on the bed. His wife sat beside him, she placed her hand of his back.

"It's okay, dear. You have to be patient, let's hope you get it tomorrow." Mr George consoled him.

"Thank you love." Mr George said.

"Now, freshen up so that you can eat your dinner. I prepared something already." Mr George smiled.

"Wow! That's why I love you." Mr George embraced his wife.

"You are welcome darling." Mr George smiled.

"My princess slept early today. I hope she's okay." Mr George stared at his wife.

"Of course, she was just tired. She actually waited for you but she slept off on the couch. I had to take her to her room." Mrs George stared back.

"Good." Mr George smiled. He later had his dinner and went back to the room with his wife.

Laura was set for school the following day. She went in search of her dad. He was already waiting  for her at the sitting room.

"Good morning, dad. You came home late last night." Laura gave a sad look.

"I'm sorry, princess. I know you are hurt. I had to attend to something at the office." Mr George patted her back.

"OK, dad. I'm set for school. Can we go now?" Laura asked.

"OK, sweetie. Let's wait for mom, I'm gonna drop her at work too." Mr George said. Soon, Mrs George came downstairs and they headed to the car. Mr George drove out of the compound. Mr George dropped Laura at school, she pecked her parents before leaving. She moved to her class. She has a friend named Rhianna, they are sitting mate. Rhianna got to school earlier than her, she was already on sit when Laura walked into the class.

"Good morning Rhianna." Laura sat beside Rhianna.

"Good morning, Laura." Rhianna smiled.

"I forgot to ask you. I've you told your parents about the Parent meeting. It's in two days time." Rhianna gazed at Laura.

"Sure, my dad is coming." Laura smiled happily.

"Lucky you, you have a dad." Rhianna said sadly.

"It's okay Rhianna. You don't have to feel bad, okay?" Laura consoled Rhianna. She lost her dad to an accident at a very tender age.

"Thank you, Laura. You've always been there for me." Rhianna smiled and they embraced each other.

"My mom is coming anyway." Rhianna grinned.

"Oh... That's absolutely nice." Laura nodded.

Mr George was patient enough to wait for his goods till afternoon. He became impatient so he called Mr Robert.

" Hello Mr Robert, I really don't like the way you are treating me. I'm your new client, I should be treated well.  I've waited long enough for the crude oil. I really don't understand what's actually going on.  I paid remember?" Mr George frowned slightly.

"I'm very sorry Mr George. We are still having some challenges." Mr Robert lied.

"I think it would be better you refund my money, I don't think I can wait any longer. My clients are really demanding for Petrol." Mr George cleaned the sweat on his forehead.

"I'm afraid I won't be able to refund your money." Mr Robert said.

"Why?" Mr George asked in surprise.

"You will get you crude oil Mr George. All you need to do is to add 1 million dollars." Mr Robert said.

"I really don't understand you." Mr George  asked worriedly.

"Add 1 million dollars and you will get your crude oil immediately." Mr Robert said.

"You don't mean it? We made an agreement remember? So what are you telling me?" Mr George asked angrily.

"That's all I have to say." Mr Robert said calmly.

"Listen, Mr Robert. Refund my money, I don't need the crude oil anymore." Mr George said angrily.

"You must be joking." Mr Robert smiled.

"If I don't get my money tomorrow, I will report you to the police. You will know then that I'm not in any sort of jokes with you." Mr George said as his hand shook in anger.

"Is that a threat?" Mr Robert asked.

"Of course and I mean it. So if you know what's good for you refund my money. My partners are getting worried, I can't bear to lose them. I give you the grace of today, if I don't hear anything from you, I'm gonna report you to the police." Mr George said and hung up angrily.

(Phone call disconnected)

"What sort of rubbish is that? I was firstly reluctant to buy from him. If not for the manager, I wouldn't have gone there. What have I gotten myself into? I will make sure I report him to the police if I don't hear anything from him tomorrow." Mr George soliloquise as he walked around the office.

Scorpion drove out of his company. He headed to his warehouse, some of his bodyguards were there to supervise the cocaine they received in the morning. Blade was also there. He called him to a silent place to discuss with him.

"Blade, Mr George has stepped on my toes." Robert said as he dip a cigarette into his mouth.

"I knew it. I knew his no gentleman at all. So do wanna get rid of him?" Blare said.

"Yes, but I want you and two others to eliminate him tonight make sure you kill whoever you see in his house. His family must suffer with him." Mr Robert said furiously. He smoked the cigarette continuously.

"Consider it done boss. No one dares challenge you." Blade frowned.

"I trust you." Mr Robert smiled evilly.

Mr George got home in the evening. It was written all over his face that something is bothering him. His wife noticed it when she embraced him.

"Welcome, dear. What's wrong? You look tense." Mrs George grew worried.

"Can you imagine that Mr Robert wants me to pay 1 million dollars again to get the crude oil and we already had an agagreement, I've even paid him a sum on 50 million dollars." Mr Robert explained to his wife.

"You don't mean!" Mr George asked in shocked.

"And he's not gonna release the crude oil unless I pay it. But I told him I'm gonna report him to the police tomorrow, if I don't hear anything from him." Mr George said.

"That's better, how could he be so dubious! I just want you to be careful, a man like that may be dangerous." Mrs George advised.

"I know that's why I wanna report this to the police." Mr George said.

"OK dear, don't think about it too much. Come with me to the room." Mrs George said. She carried  her husband suitcase and held him with her other hand.

Later in the night, Mr George and his family decided to take some fresh air in the compound. Mr and Mrs George were busy gisting while Laura was busy with her assignment until she got to a point that seems hard to her.

"Dad,  please help me out with this question." Laura handed her book over to her dad.

"Could you please get me my glasses? It's beside my bed." Mr George said.

"Alright,  daddy. " Laura went inside to fetch his dad's glasses. Blade and two of Scorpion's men arrived at Mr Robert's house. The fence of Mr George's house it's not tall so people can easily see that's going on in the compound. They were so happy to see him in the compound with his wife.

"Very good, the good for nothing man is outside with his wife. Give me the gun" Scorpion demanded for the gun and he was given. He pointed the gun out of the car and made sure he was pointing the gun at Mr George and Mrs George. He pulled the trigger at once. The sound attracted Laura and her nanny. Her nanny quickly ran into Mr George's room and grabbed hold of Laura. She made them lay down flat on the ground. They were shaking in fear, they heard another gun shot again.

"Mommy, daddy." Laura cried out, her Nanny covered her mouth with her hand so as to prevent her from talking. Mr and Mrs George were in a pool of blood.

"Let's move. " Scorpion  ordered.

"What about we check if someone else is inside the house?" One of Scorpion's men said.

"We gat no time. The gunshots might have attracted people. Let's move. " Scorpion ordered and the driver drove off. Laura was still in the room with her Nanny. She couldn't take it anymore, she withheld herself for her Nanny and ran downstairs.

"Mommy, daddy." Laura screamed out.

"Laura, come back here. It's dangerous." Nanny ran after her.  Laura was so struck dumb to see her parents laying flat on the ground. She couldn't believe her eyes, she never though she would witness her parents death at her tender age. She moved to her mum. Mrs George was already dead.

"Mom! No! No! No!  You can't leave me. Dad!" She screamed as she was shaking her mom. She moved to her dad too. Mr George was still fighting to breath.

"Dad! Dad!  Don't leave me." Laura cried painful. Nanny came out and meet Mr and Mrs George on the floor.

"No! Ma'am!  Please, wake up." Nanny moved toward Mrs George in tears.

"My princess!... Please take care of yourself... Always know that we love you and we wish to watch you grow up but we can't anymore. Nanny please, don't leave my child." Mr George cried painfully.

"No! Dad, don't talk that way. Please!" Laura cried so hard.

"Let me call the ambulance." Nanny went to call the ambulance right away.

"Sweetheart, be strong for me. I love you... Scorpion! You've done your worse. Scorpion!" Mr George said in pain as blood was coming out of his mouth.

"Who is Scorpion dad?" Laura asked in tears.

"He...he..." Mr George gave up.

"Dad! Dad! Dad! No, you can't do this to me. Please  wake up. " She embraced her dad. She moved to her mom too.

"Mom! Please dad, you promised to be at the PTA meeting. Mom, you promised not to leave me. Why are did you both decide to leave me?  How will I cope without you on my life?  Dad!  Mom!" Laura screamed out. Nanny rushed out to her.

"Mr George! No! No! Who this to us? Mrs George." Nanny fell down flat. She told her phone and dialed Laura's granny number. She explained what happened to her, Granny Louis was so shocked, she told them to come to her house right away. Nanny went in to pick some her clothes and Laura's clothes. Soon,  the ambulance arrived. They carried Mr George and Mrs George's body.

"No, don't take them away from me. Dad!  Mom!" Laura forcefully went to her parents body. Nanny struggled to carried her back.

"Let go of me.  They can't take my parents away from me.  No!" Laura scream as she cried painfully. The driver shut the back door and he went away with the ambulance.

"Nanny, why did you allowed them to take my parents away! I hate you! I hate!" Laura cried. Nanny kept holding her. Nanny told the driver to take them to Granny Louis' house. The driver drove them there.

Nanny walked Laura into the Granny Louis' house. She was already waiting for them. Laura ran to her nanny.

"Granny! They took mom and dad away! Will I ever see them again? I want my parents back.  They promised not to leave me." Laura cried. Granny Louis and Nanny  cried with her.

"My angel, it's okay. We are here for you. Who killed my son and my daughter in-law? What did I do wrong? God!  Why?" Granny Louis cried out.

"Dad mentioned Scorpion before he gave up. I didn't understand him,  he was about to tell something but he was not able to. Granny! Don't tell me my Mom and Dad is gone. " Laura wept.

"It's okay darling." Granny Louis cried.

Blade went to informed Scorpion at his house that he successfully killed Mr and Mrs George.

"Only them? I told you to kill everyone you see in the house." Scorpion  screamed angrily.

"Time was not on our side." Blade said.

"Go back now and kill everyone you see there." Scorpion  instructed him. Blade went back to Mr George's house but he met no one even the gateman was not there. He went inside the house and searched everywhere. He saw Laura's picture, he knew she was Mr George's daughter. He decided to take her picture and left immediately. He went back to report to Scorpion, he was so angry that Laura was still alive. He angrily took the picture from Blade.

"You must look for her! You were so careless. If you don't look for her, consider yourself dead!" Scorpion screamed.

"OK boss. I'm really sorry." Blade bend his head.

"Sorry for yourself, leave now!" Scorpion snapped at him. Blade left immediately.

After a lot of tears, Laura eventually slept off. Nanny took her to a room. Granny Louis kept grieving her son and his wife. Nanny came back to console her.

"Granny Louis, we have to stay strong for Laura." Nanny consoled Granny Louis in tears.

"I know. We have to leave New York. We will relocate to my house at Mexico. I know they can be after Laura too. " Granny Louis said sadly.

"You are right..." Nanny nodded.

"We leave on Sunday." Granny wept.

"I will come back for my children's burial. Laura will not longer come to New York for now." Granny said in tears.

"Can I come back with for the burial?" Nanny  asked in tears.

"No, I will come alone. My son!" Granny  burst in tears again. Nanny was also moved to tears.

What a disaster! What a pain! What a tragedy! A happy home as been broken! I feel pity for Laura. I wonder how she would cope without her parents at her tender age. Rip Mr and Mrs George!. Kindly drop your comments and don't forget to like and share. Love you guys
