The rebellion of the Lost: The Gunsmith's Odyssey

Snatched from a world of bullets and blueprints, Volkner Philipov finds himself in a realm where magic crackles as fiercely as gunfire. Not summoned by prophecy, but by desperation, he's the latest in a line of "heroes" torn from their worlds to confront a darkness encroaching on this one. But Volkner isn't interested in being a hero; he just wants to go home. Yet, as threats loom and alliances form, Volkner's journey becomes more than a search for a way back—it's a battle between the pull of destiny and the desire for a life he's been forced to leave behind. In a world where magic meets machinery, and where every decision can tip the balance of power, Volkner must navigate the complexities of a land not his own, armed with nothing but his wits and a burning desire to return to where he belongs. As Volkner delves deeper into this strange, new world, he realizes that the path home is not as straightforward as he hoped. Will he embrace the role fate has thrust upon him, or will he find a way to forge his own path in a world that calls him a hero but feels like a prison?

The Pulse of Power, The Whisper of Rebellion

I was sitting up, and the sensation of the air became all too real to me. The air was electric. One wrong move and I would court death. The surrounding air commanded attention, almost telling me of what I could do. I saw the King's gaze almost waiting for what I would say next. I thought of many things, but like leaves in the wind, they were hard to grasp. My first decision was to stand up despite feeling so out of place. The world didn't feel real yet, but I'd rather not make a life threatening mistake. I was uncertain. This uncertainty gnawed at me, but I do not dare to show it in my voice.

"My name is Volkner Philipov. What happened to me?"

I pushed through the Electric air buzzing with life, gnawing at everything I was doing, examining me. In the end, I got up while I was still speaking. The king again smiled. His authority, which was extortionate, caused my heart to flutter needlessly. When he spoke again, he moved his body with every word he spoke.

"I summoned you to this world."

He sighed as his expression grew softer, the air even grew lighter.

"I deeply regret taking you away from everything you were familiar with. The control of this ritual is inadequate, and it only summons the individual with the greatest potential in proximity to our reality."

The air fluctuated with each of his words, but once he pointed to me, I could feel it. This… air grew so heavy in response; It even buzzed around me. Almost telling of his intentions and my burden.

"The presence of the Demon Lord required new heroes. The name is Martagon the Ender. He recently announced his plan to end our lives soon. We do not know when he will arrive."

In this moment, I no longer wanted answers to my questions. I felt cold and alone, the warm air sparking around me numbed. I just wanted to go back to sleep in my bed. This was an obvious reason that could not escape my head, but I didn't want to accept it. But I've lost some uncertainty. I just wanted to live, to protect my home country. But now, I have lost both in a single moment. I think the king noticed the shift in my mood. I still don't know quite what gave it away, though.

"Riya Sasaki, he appears to be tired from the sudden summoning. Send him to a room he can sleep in for today."

"VOLKNER, over here!"

I could finally take in my surroundings, like the grand hall I was in. The hall has decorations of marble statues and what appear to be paintings of their grandest achievement behind them. It all looked to be almost breathing, everything covered in white and purple, save for the marble statues. The floor was of a glossy marble, with streaks of an extremely dark purple almost resembling lightning. There were many knights in a straight line, looking to be elites.

Their armor was alluring. I couldn't help but stare at their design. The armor gleamed with an otherworldly glow, almost like it was an embodiment of the stars in the night. The plates of their armor flowed, intermingling with each other as the knights made their breath. Its design and curvature looked as if it could deflect the deadliest blows, yet it looked as agile as ever. Its white design flowed and crashed into itself like clouds in a sky. The purple was harsh and flowed in whatever direction seemed to have the least resistance. It was a solid color, but its texture was akin to lightning. Their helmets were masterpieces of craftsmanship. The helmets concealed their visage completely. Leaving their entire identity a complete mystery. Yet not a single one of these knights held a blade in their hand. They simply held their hands behind their backs.

Then I saw the owner of the voice that called out to me. Notably, her uncovered face was the only one among all the other elites. Tied back into a ponytail, her short hair was a striking crimson red, perfectly complemented by her armor. The color of her armor was white and crimson red, differing from those around her. Her vivid green eyes shone with clarity and intensity, reflecting her very being: focused, determined, and undeniably present with soft but firm white skin.

"Coming! Parden me, but what is your name, majesty?"

I saw his eyes widened while the surrounding lightning curiously sputtered for a moment.

"I am King Aethelric, Stormweaver of Rugiet Fulgur. Just rest for today. I am sure this is a lot to take in."

I walked to Riya Sasaki's side and followed her down a hallway decorated with what looks to be kings of the past. The kings shown here look to be majestic legends of their time, with strong builds of varying looks. But the current king lacked that appearance, a telling sign of what could have brought him to the position.

"This is the place, Volkner."

"Thank you."

She pointed to the door, and I made my way in. It had the same appearance as the hall, with a ludicrous bed. there was a handcrafted desk and chair. The colored glass altered the light to purple from the outside. I made straight for the crazy bed.

"Talk about an unexpected turn. Being summoned into a fantastical world? It's like living in a dream... or a very vivid imagination."

I felt a prodding on my waist side.

"My pistol! I can't believe I forgot about it. Actually, maybe it was for the better."

I observed my now precious trinket from my home world.

"I doubt this would be effective against those knights. They all seemed to have some otherworldly material that doesn't really exist here."

I looked at the three spare magazines I had.

"Well, I don't think everyone will be so majestic. So these will definitely be handy."

I observed the Silencer on my pistol and the grooves of the handle. It was one of the first weapon he ever crafted from scratch.

"I am glad that out of everything, this is what I had with me."

A wave of exhaustion swept away my tension.

"This has been too long of a day, first grafting a blueprint than being in front of an overwhelming king."

My eyes would open and close as my mind could finally relax despite everything. The world started fading into a darkness.

The pacing is a little slow here on purpose, a dual sense of time supposedly fast, but slow as Volkner takes everything in. I won't keep the pace so slow if it is not a purposeful decision.
