The Grand Magic Tournament

As Sasha ran through the forest, the bear was gaining on her. She stepped and jumped off a tree, the bear runs into the tree and is dazed. She then shoots it with a fireball. The bear falls on the ground and twitches a little, it then dies. Finnel then finds her, and they both take the bear back to the camp. They used leaves to protect them from rain, and big sticks for support. Their shelter was built next to a tree so that would give extra support. They had a fire in a one foot deep hole, they put rocks around it and moved away any leaves. "Woah, nice catch!" Gabe said, "How are we going to eat this whole thing?!" Daniella asked. "We can preserve it with ice, we will then defrost it and use the pelt and hide for clothes." William said. "Damn bro, you must know a lot!" Gabe said, "I did some training with the professor." he said. "What?! You got to go into the wilderness with him?!" Daniella asked, "Yeah, he even taught me how to make tools!" He added, "Looks like he picks favorites." Daniella pouts. "Actually no, I don't think so. Hey Gabe." Sasha said, "What is it?" He asked, "You are a damage based swordsman right?" She asked, "Yeah, why?" He answered. "And he taught me how to control my mana...Did he teach you sword skills and enchantments to put on a sword?" Sasha asked, "Actually, yeah!" Gabe answered. "Wait, he taught me archery and long range spells." Daniella said, "And he taught me hand to hand combat, with some daggers." Finnel said. "He has been teaching us, and is helping us to master our best qualities!" Sasha said, "Finnel is an assassin, Daniella is an archer, Gabe is a swordsman, William is adaptive, and I'm a healer!" Sasha continued. "That bastard, who would think of all of this?" Finnel said. "Oh my god! Remember when he put us in that arena room?!" Daniella asks, "Yeah?" Gabe says. "He based it off of that! Since Sasha was hurt the most, he figured that she was a healer! And he saw that I was keeping my distance, and how William used the monster's bones. And since Gabe and Finnel were the least damaged, he figured that they were either close combat or they used a sword!" She continued. Then from above, "Bingo!", Heleh then dropped down and landed on his feet.

"It has been a week, so we should probably head back." Heleh suggested, "Professor?" Sasha said. "What is it?" Heleh asked, "Did you plan all of this?" She asked, "Well obviously! I've orchestrated these tests since I was told I was gonna be teaching the 'worst of the worst'" Heleh says with air quotes. "Wow! You must be really smart!" Finnel says, "No, just experienced. C'mon, let's go!" He said. "Yes sir!" The class yells.

A month then passed, it was now September. Nearly his birthday, the tournament was going to happen 9 days before his birthday. As he walked into the colosseum, there were so many guards. "Identification sir!" One guard says to Heleh, "Here." Heleh said with a sigh. The guard takes his hunter's card and looks at the name. He then gives it back, "You may enter." The guard says. Heleh then enters a waiting room, the guard then drops to his knees. "What's wrong?!" The other guard asks, "He-He's the one." He says. It then clicks in the other guard's head, "No way." He says, "Yes, actually."

When Heleh entered the waiting room, he was immediately hugged. "Professor!" Sasha says in excitement, "Woah, back up a bit." He says. "Oh, I'm sorry." She says with her head down, "Sigh... Don't worry, it isn't you." he says while patting her head. Heleh then wandered around the colosseum. After getting a look, he came up with a plan for the teacher fights. Then, when Heleh gets home, he sees Suzuni sitting on the couch. "Sup." He says while walking to the room. He takes off his clothes and puts a towel around his waist. He goes into the bath and starts taking a shower. "Hey demon." Heleh asks the demon, "What is it?" He responds. "Did you feel it?" He asks, "Yeah." He answers. Back at the colosseum, when he was wandering around, he felt a strange sensation. It gradually got worse the more time he spent there, "It's probably gonna stop growing during the teacher's fights right?" Heleh asks the demon. "Most definitely." The demon responds, Heleh then releases a deep sigh. Heleh then heard the door open, "Who were you talking to?" Suzuni asks him. "I was talking to the demon." Heleh says. "Really, about what?" She asks, "Important and private business." Heleh responds. Suzuni had only seen Heleh this tense only a few times. She knows there is something wrong, but Heleh won't tell her. "Well, see you later!" She says as she exits the bathroom.

"7 years, 7 God damn years. And still no progress, ha." Heleh kicks the wall, "Why!" Heleh says angrily, "Why is it so fucking difficult!" Heleh slams his fist onto the wall. "I swear. I swear, I will find a way to accomplish this damn thing." Heleh then gets out of the shower, he dries off and wraps the towel around his waist. He walks to his room to see Suzuni sleeping. He quietly opens the closet and takes out a pair of underwear, shorts, and a shirt. He puts them on and climbs into the bed. "Never drop your guard." Suzuni says, she then bites Heleh's neck.

The next day was when the tournament actually started, yesterday was just the registration. As Heleh watched from the waiting room, Sasha was in battle with Bethany. Bethany was a burnet girl with short hair, she mainly used AOE spells. From these spells, she uses anything that she has access to. "Fuck...That's a bad match for her." Heleh says, "Is it really?" A woman says as she sits down next to Heleh. "Yeah, it is." Heleh said, "Well, that's my student she's fighting." She says, "So she's your student huh?" Heleh says, "Yep!" Heleh looks intensely at the projection. "Oh, my name is Eden Quilts, nice to meet you." She says as she holds out her hand, "Your feelings are one sided." Heleh says without looking at her. "Rude...How old are you?" She asks, "24, almost 25." Heleh answers. "And you're already a teacher?!" She asks. "No, this is temporary. The original teacher for the class I taught was in a horrific accident and is currently in physical and physiological therapy." Heleh says, "You don't seem like the type to joke, so..." She paused, "So what?" Heleh asks, "Oh nothing."

Sasha shoots a fireball, another, and then another. But Bethany's water barriers were too much. She then creates a hail storm above Sasha, Sasha protects herself with a rock shield that she makes from the platform. Bethany jumps in for hand to hand combat, Sasha infuses her arms with a rock spell. Bethany punches Sasha, she blocks it with her arms. And where she punched, was a pile of rocks that fell. Everything that impacts her body will be stopped by a thick layer of earth.

Transitioning into physical combat was very difficult for Sasha. But then, finally, Bethany lost balance and stumbled. Sasha sees the opportunity, and fires a compressed wall of air. This pushes Bethany back to the edge, and Sasha kicks her off the platform. Everyone was amazed that an E rank healer could take on a highly esteemed fighter.

The fights then went on as well as you would expect. Everyone in Heleh's class won! Which was a big surprise for Heleh because he didn't think their training was that good. "Oh my god!" Heleh jumps up, "Yeah, fuck you Kamesh!" He then sticks his middle finger towards Kamesh, "Ey! It's only one fight!" Kamesh rebutted, "I still beat your best student with my lowest ranking one!" Heleh continued to mess around with Kamesh.

"May all the teachers who are competing come out." The announcer said. The teachers then walked out from the southern entrance. In a triangular formation, Eden was in the front, boasting a purple dress with tights that showed her upper thighs. She had a big witch hat and white gloves, she also holstered a thunder grimoire on her side. To her left, Kamesh, in a black trench coat with a fur bottom and black cargo pants. He had black leather gloves and a turtle neck under his coat, and black combat boots. On the opposite side, was a martial artist named Guen Hiling, she was a renowned fighter and now a teacher. She has also created her own fighting style called the "Breathless Bear." It utilizes all the limbs, chops, kicks, punches, head butts, indeed a very unorthodox fighting style. She wore shorts with a hoodie on top, she always had simple fashion. Behind her was Heleh, he had black cargo pants and black combat boots. He had a black jacket which was unzipped and showed his black shirt. He had no gloves, but did have a potion on his belt. On the opposite side was Isaac Threajo, an abyss mage who was well versed in the dark arts. He had a black cape with a utility belt that had a dagger, a grimoire, potions, and some herbs. He had long black pants and a short sleeved shirt.

There were 5 mana crystals in front of them, they had to break the biggest one they could. They go from the smallest to the largest. First up was Eden, she cleared all of them with ease. Really everyone cleared it with ease, but Guen had a little bit of trouble. The real show was Heleh, while the other teachers used one attack for each crystal, he used one attack for all of the crystals. "This boy doesn't have what it takes." Eden thinks to herself. "So young yet so powerful." Guen said quietly, "That bastard really has to show off doesn't he?" Kamesh said. Heleh pointed his hand to the left where the smallest crystal was. He swiped with only his wrist, and all of the crystals instantly crumbled into a pile of sand.

There was then a 10 minute intermission where a bunch of band kids played until the teachers were ready. The music rang through the city. Heleh could feel the pressure, and that ominous energy. "ERRRR!" The bell then rang and the teachers immediately scattered. Heleh could feel the energy was coming from Isaac so he targeted him first. He ran across the walls of the stands and drop kicked him. Isaac countered with a glacier to Heleh's shoulder. "Wassup bro!" Kamesh yelled behind Heleh, he punched the ice and it all crumbled to pieces. Heleh drops down and regains his balance. "Fuckin' hell." Heleh said, "I know right, such powerful ice magic." Kamesh responded. "Hey, what if I beat him with only ice?" Heleh suggested, "Bro, your ice sucks, don't." Kamesh said, "Fine!" Heleh yelled.

He ran towards Isaac with the blade of Day and Night. He slices at his chest and it slightly grazes Isaac, but it destroys the wall behind him. Kamesh runs in and punches him in the liver. Heleh darts towards him and uppercuts him in the stomach. They just kept beating him. Isaac then stabs Heleh through his shoulder with spikes of ice. Heleh breaks free, and kicks him in the face. He falls back, but not before releasing a giant glacier. Spikes impaled Heleh, and severely injured Kamesh. The ice dissipates and Heleh sees Kamesh's lifeless body. He runs toward him, and holds his head up. The audience watches silently, blood trickled down Heleh's hand, to his elbow. Fermine put her hands on her mouth, frozen in shock. "It's ready, my pre-set weapon is now ready!" Heleh dashes and punches him through the heart. And from the stands, "Daddy!" A little girl jumps down and grabs an icicle before running towards Heleh. She charges, Heleh removes his arm and turns. Knowing what he had done, he slightly opened his arms. The little girl stabs Heleh, he held her close. "I'm sorry..." He then fell back and his head clocked against the ground.
