Will gave a sidelong glance towards the voice and let out a smile that did not match his eyes. "Oho? If it isn't the young miss from yesterday?"
The owner of the voice frowned as she approached the receptionist counter. "Excuse me, have we met before- ah. That mask.... it can't be...."
"I hope you found the female baths without a problem young miss," Will said with a smile causing the girl from yesterday to flush red in embarrassment.
"I-I-I apologize for my blunder from yesterday. It will not happen again."
Will gave a light chuckle and waved it off, "don't worry about it."
Fiona gave Will a raised eyebrow. "Judging by the content of your conversation, I'm guessing that you two have met already?"
"She stays in the same inn as me," replied Will nonchalantly. "So she is the one who will be requesting for aid in the attainment of several water attributed mana stones?"
"Indeed," nodded the girl with black hair.
"How many do you need? Is there a limit of any sort?" Will asked.
"We need as many stones as possible."
"Any required quality limit?"
"Any quality stone you obtain," said the girl with a stern expression. "We are happy to purchase everything you find."
Will pointed at the part of the request that told him the price per mana stone and raised an eyebrow. "I don't know about the prices in the kingdom of darkness but it can't be as bad as this, are you aware of how much of a rip off 8 coppers for a water attribute stone is? In any other market, I would be able to sell even the smallest of mana stones for 15 coppers at least."
The black hair girl bit her lips before answering, "The price of the stones sold will scale respectively with their quality. I am sorry but that the best I can do."
Will sighed, "I understand. I'll accept. It won't be the first time I'll be doing volunteer work anyways."
"Of course, you are always allowed to decline the request. Understandably, you do not wish to take such a senseless request-" the girl paused for a moment as she absorbed what Will had said. "-Excuse me? What did you say? Can you repeat that?"
"I understand. I'll accept. It won't be the first time I'll be doing volunteer work anyways."
"Why?" asked the black haired girl suspiciously. "Why would you take such an unreasonable request?"
"Why would you make an unreasonable request if you know that almost no one will accept it?"
"W-well that's because we are in a tight situation and desperately need help."
"And I am a person who wishes to help you pitiful people who are in need of dire assistance," responded Will while rolling his eyes. "It's not that hard to understand miss."
Fiona planted a hand on her chest before giving Will a proud look. "As expected as the pride of Genesis City's number one troublesome quest clearer! I knew that you would accept every quest I offer you no matter how bad the quests are. It's only because of you that the guild is considering giving me a pay raise!"
Rina frowned. "The guild has enough money to give Miss Fiona a pay raise, but not enough to give adventurers better rewards on quests? Even with this new quest for the promotion to D rank, Will doesn't get any money for even accepting and completing the quest. What kind of stupid management is that?"
Fiona averted her gaze once more. "I have no idea on what you mean Rina... Did I mention a pay raise? You must've heard wrong. I mean that my little brother got a pay raise."
Rina wrinkled her brows and gave Fiona a disgusted look. "You are disappointing, Miss Fiona."
"Kek."
(A/N: Lol I got offered a contract again. I have decided not to accept the contract for now, at least until I am 18 which will be this coming April, as it has been confirmed that I need to give them my parents consent to be contracted :P
Mi parents said no.
Sooooooooo, no contracts until then. We will discuss the contract issue after my birthday.)
Will sighed, "Rina, stop bothering Miss Fiona and let's finish this quest already. Like you said earlier, it should be as easy as catching fish in a barrel."
Rina gave Fiona a death stare before saying, "I'll let you off this time Miss Fiona, but if you do this next time, I will curse you to have no sweets for a week!"
"How adorable," said Fiona as she attempted to give Rina a pat on the head, who immediately dodged it and hid behind Will's back all the while continuing to glare at Fiona. "Fiona nee-san will give Rina lots of treats if you let this nee-san cuddle you for a bit~"
"No! Will said that I shouldn't accept candies from suspicious people who look at Rina with weird eyes! I won't ever let you touch me!"
The black haired girl frowned. "Did you say that your name is Will? Er, the masked man who is gracious enough to accept my foolish request."
Will froze for a slight moment before immediately going back to his normal indifferent self. "Yes, my name is indeed Will, a terribly common name don't you reckon? However, you may call me Phantom."
The girl's face became even more furrowed. "Will you say? Now that I think about it, you do remind me of a certain person, sir Phantom. But it can't be... that person should be dead-"
"Anyways," said Will as he cut off the girl with a smile, "Since you said that we will be hunting almost immediately, I shall hurry up and prepare for the hunt. As you are searching for water attributes, we must prepare to face many sea monsters as well as water attributed monsters. We will need a variety of tools and bait if we want to get the best results with the least amount of casualties and wounds. Goodbye and see you soon."
And before anyone could say another word, Will calmly ran out of the guild.
