Airi had walked up a couple of steps away when she paused in her steps upon hearing the clomping of footsteps echoing behind her.

Without turning around she further spoke, " I will prefer if you stop following me..."

Airi strode away hastily. She definitely wanted to leave this place at any cost!

She didn't wish to stay in this damnable place any longer!

She doubted if this place was some sort of a trap set up by him in any way possible.

Thinking so, Airi glanced around cautiously.

She needed to find the exit quickly!

The place was very different from the one she was previously at. It appears to be so that she preferably wasn't any longer within the vicinity of the school grounds!

This thought made her panic, bringing back those long died goosebumps.

Ah where is this place?

As if a certain persistent somebody wasn't having any of that, he meticulously followed behind her.

Quite obedient, I see?

Within just a matter of few seconds, he caught up to her and very well mannerdly stood in front of her waiting diligently like how a servant would for it's master!

Airi had only one thought in her mind

Airi felt truly vexed as to how someone could be so persistently irritating such as him!

"I'll... I'll speak! Please please...Don't go... Don't leave me! " the so-called annoying someone responded nervously.

He appeared to be on the verge of crying at any moment!

He looked at her pleadingly.

Is he trying to guilt trap me?

Airi felt her heart warm up. Some how she felt pity for him.

Clearly...she was giving in to him!

Engrossed in her thoughts, Airi missed out on an incoming trouble.

Her installed warning bells failed to notify this time.

Upon glancing at the latter's face, Airi noticed the subtle change in his expression.

She could feel him stiffen up with a grim look on his face. His eyes had turned sharp with an undisclosed urgency.

The previous helpless demeanor had an abrupt change which even took Airi by surprise!

Even before he could grasp on to the situation he was struck by something unnatural, an unidentified force which had him thrown away to quite some distance.

Baffled by this sudden outcome, he looked towards Airi with a warning look. His face shrouded with panic.

Suddenly, out of nowhere Airi felt her body burning up with her head getting attacked by a series of different voices yelling and screaming at her.

Her head throbbed in pain. Her brain getting filled up with more and more voices. They spoke to her at the same time. Her mind gradually getting cramped up with those ceaseless incoming bantering.

Her mind was left in disarray from the impact!

It was torturously painful for Airi who gritted her teeth so as to stop herself from screaming.

Unable to take it anymore she fell down on her knees.

She knelt down clutching her head with both of her hands trying her best to endure.

She was momentarily perplexed as she wasn't able to understand anything.

Just what was going on!

As if it wasn't enough, Airi felt her glabella pulsate incessantly when sequences after sequences of varying images got projected inside her brain that was already about to explode any moment.

She coughed and chocked feeling nauseous and suffocating.

Those voices hadn't in the least toned down even with the arrival of those images that kept on playing events after events like a movie rather the pain intensified!

Airi watched and listened helplessly, enduring the pain both mentally and physically.

She could already feel her tears streaming down her face and sticky red liquid spilling out of her nose and ears.

Amidst all of these, she could feel someone continuously murmuring gently to her.

She couldn't understand anything but she could feel the concern, pain and the nervousness from it.

Gradually, she felt her control over her five senses loosening, her vision blurred with her ears ringing when Airi felt a wave of nausea hit her.

She gave an ear splitting cry before falling faint into a pair of arms.

A pair of arms hugged her tightly within a protective grasp.

A pale white finger was pressed on Airi's glabella. His lips moving constantly with indecipherable chants.

He was drenched with sweat but that didn't break off his chain of incessant chantings.

He was most definitely not in any less pain than the female but his face remained void of any emotion. One can only see his thick brows frown with concern and heartache.

He continuously wiped away her tears with his hands diligently. He very gently brushed her messed up hair and massaged her forehead so as to soothe her of her pain.

He should not have gotten closer to her or else the contract wouldn't have acted up.

It was all his fault!

Bang!

In a fit of anger and disappointment towards his own self, he punched the solid earth surface!

He had to seal up at least two-thirds of the parts of the contract.

Fortunately, he was able to do that which saved her life!

He didn't want to put too much pressure on her and get her to learn everything at her own pace.

She wasn't ready to face the full potential of herself as of now. Her now won't be able to fully unleash it. And it would be better for her to not to when she is still unprepared and unaware of all those unpredictable dangers loitering around lurking in the shadows.

Thankfully, she was able to successfully pass her first revelation which was supposedly the most difficult of all the phases. Advancing the next phases won't be so strenuously painful, I presume. And by now she would as much have a understanding of certain things previously unknown to her.

Most importantly, it would be better to have her realise it naturally with the passage of time.

Although she's just passed her first awakening, she's still weak. So weak just like me!

I couldn't even use half the potential!

If only I could have then she wouldn't have to suffer so much...

But first, I need to take care of that pretentious mugger. I didn't expect him to find out about her this early!

Well it's good enough though since I haven't had the chance to flex up some muscles for a pretty long time!
