Chapter 56- The sun of memories

I stand in the middle of the courtyard gazing up at the sky. The sun glitters like diamonds in its vast expanse of royal blue, and the warmth it brings is strangely soothing. I've come to associate it with Malachi, the prince of the dark king, and the forbidden flame of pleasure. His eyes are a shade of silver that can only be described as captivating, and they pierce my soul in a way no other can.

The sun was like an angel, brightly shining and peering through the darkness of the world and my broken heart. Its warm light cascades over me soothingly, slowly healing the wounds of my past. Everywhere was blanketed in its splendour. I smiled wistfully, wishing the prince with the silver eyes could be here to see it.

My heart ached with a bittersweet love. I recalled the days of which we waltzed and laughed together under the starry sky. But alas, I was taken away, leaving the prince in a torn state.

I stand here every day, ever since I was rescued by Heaven's Guerrillas. Somehow they were able to break into the dark king's castle and free both my brother Arthur and I. But my thoughts are still constantly drawn to Malachi.

'He's so handsome,' I whisper to myself, my heart racing at the mere thought of his name.

'Lily!' I hear a voice calling from behind me. I turn to see Arthur walking towards me.

'How can you stand here daydreaming of that...that monster?' he scolds as he reaches me. I can't help but feel a little guilty, remembering the horrors my brother has endured in the dungeons of the castle.

But I can't help it either- Malachi's kindness and bravery won over my heart.

I quickly look away, blushing. 'You don't understand, Arthur,' I reply softly. 'He gave me hope. That's worth more to me than anything.'

He takes a deep breath and nods slowly, as if he's supporting my decision.

'Go on then,' he says resolutely, pointing his finger towards the sun.

With a smile, I turn and walk away. I can't help but feel a little relieved that Arthur atleast understands my feelings.

I stop in front of the sun, the rays of light gently caressing my face. I close my eyes, imagining that it's Malachi's silver eyes that's shining on me. I could almost feel his tender embrace, his touch.

'Lily, don't forget your duty,' Arthur's voice drifts from the background, bringing me back to reality.

I take one last look at the sun and tears come to my eyes, silently gliding across my cheeks.

I whisper, 'Goodbye, Malachi.'

I turn back and walk away, knowing that we will be reunited someday.
