Chapter 4

A smirk grows on Sophia's face upon hearing Olivia's response.

This was the perfect time for the both of them to relax and take their minds off of things

"Perfect, what did you want to watch? We still have two series we need to finish watching, the saw series and then the terrifier series"

Sophia mentions as she looked Olivia's way, Olivia had her hand on her chin, thinking of which one to continue, Though the topic they were talking about earlier certainly gave her a spook, she was still interested in watching horror movies.

That was the strange thing about Olivia, no matter what she had gone through in her past, all of the trauma she got, and yet, she still enjoyed the enticing feeling she got while watching horror movies....maybe it was only because she knew that these movies were not real, because a real experience would make her more uneasy than any horror movie could ever accomplish

"Let's finish the saw series, that sounds good to watch right now"

Olivia said as she turned her head to Sophia who nodded her head as she got up to get the movie set up.

Olivia sits back on the couch as she eats more of her sushi. Her mind was still on the topic from earlier, the 'phenomenon'

Olivia was unsure if it would ever leave her mind, it was like a virus of some kind, she wasn't sure..Olivia just knew that she wasn't able to get it out of her mind, a cold chill ran down olivia's spine thinking about the creature once more

Olivia shakes her head as she turns her attention to the movie that Sophia had just started.

Sophia hands Olivia a blanket from one of the ends of the couch as Olivia huddles under the blanket.

As the movie played through, Olivia looked blankly at the screen, not like a dead look, more like she was zoning out

The movie wasn't catching her attention, Olivia checked her phone from time to time, looking as how late it was into the night

Olivia slowly looked at Sophia, she seemed to be doing much better than she was, though Olivia's behavior doesn't go unnoticed by sophia.

Sophia quickly pauses the movie and turns toward Olivia, a look of concern written all over her face, Sophia had always cared for Olivia and vice versa. They were always there for each other, through thick and thin.

"Olivia? Are you alright? We can stop the movie if its too much for you right now"

Sophia says with a worried tone

Olivia looked off to the side, she didn't answer Sophia's question right away, her mind definitely seemed elsewhere right now

Sophia scoots closer to Olivia, now sitting right beside her, Sophia places a hand on Olivia's back and softly rubs it, this makes olivia flinch at first before turning her head back to Sophia

"I'm not sure...i mean i've been wanting to have another movie night with you, but this stupid creature wont get out of my head...its making me paranoid and on edge for some reason, i'm not even sure why i'm so worried, it's not like its still out there"

Olivia rambles on about the things she was feeling

Sophia sits there and comforts her

"Well the whole thing is a disturbing concept, so i do not blame you for feeling that way Olivia, but you need to not let it get to your head, or else you will have another panic episode, and during all of this, i think both you and me can agree that is not what we need right now"

Olivia's heart raced as her breathing was already uneven, though Sophia was right, she didn't need this right now

Olivia remembered when her panic episodes first started, it was when she had just turned thirteen years old, she was with her father at the time, since her father was working most of the time, they often didn't get moments to spend with each other.

The one night she left her mothers side, she lost her, Olivia had always been with her mom, since she was always there for her, but that one night, her Father received a call, resulting in the both of them rushing to a crime scene.

Her mother and brother laid on the ground, their dead corpses leaning on one another, their hands holding onto the other, it was a sight that traumatized Olivia, though she didn't get a full view, she got a glimpse of them

She was diagnosed with PTSD after the event, it was a more mild case than most, but she still had her panic episodes

But what weirded Olivia was the fact that she was alright watching gore in movies, due to her knowing the difference between acting and real life, though this creature

It made her heart race, like something inside of her was telling her that this was real...and to be afraid

"I-I...know, it's just....apart of me is saying this phenomenon is real, and to not take it lightly....it might just be my nerves talking but I'm just...confused..."

Olivia slowly says as she takes in deep breaths to slow down her breathing, her head started to clear again, though that eerie feeling stayed the whole time

Sophia let's out a hum as she thinks about the situation

"Well...it certain seems real, but we can't be for sure, we need to do our research, and I can help you with that...you know I'm always here for you"

Sophia said with a warm smile as she gave Olivia a hug, this made Olivia smile, this made her body relax as she hugged Sophia back

"Thank you for always being there for me Sophia, I know I can be hard to handle most times"

Olivia gave a small chuckle as she spoke softly to Sophia, this made Sophia chuckle too

"Of course, we've been with each other through thick and thin ever since we were teenagers, I will always be there for you"

Sophia says in return as the pair sits there for a couple minutes in silence before Olivia's phone buzzes

This makes Olivia jump as she separates from the hug and rushed to pick up her phone

Olivia had a new email, from someone she didn't recognize, she slowly hesitantly opened it, before reading it out loud so that Sophia could hear it too

I have noticed your article about a certain supernatural phenomenon, and the questioning of the safety of our world

I wanted to reach out to you after reading because I have a story related to this....it's been haunting me since the day it happened and getting it off my chest to someone who also knows about the situation is what I need

After Olivia finishes reading the email she gets excited

"Wait Sophia, this means one step closer to figuring out what this thing is!"

Sophia chuckled softly from Olivia's excitement but she wasn't going to question it

Sophia seemed happy that she wasn't going to have a panic episode again

"Well?....are you going to give the person a message back"

Olivia looked at her and nodded her head, Olivia typed the number in as she texted the number, introducing herself so the person knew who she was

Olivia: Hello, this is Olivia Marshall, the reporter Who's article you read about the supernatural Phenomenon, you said that you had a story, and I would love to hear you out

Unknown: I didn't expect a message this quick, thank you so much, what kind of information do you need other than my story?

Olivia: I would like to know your name, age, gender, and the state you currently reside in, all of this info will Help us identify just how far this phenomenon has Spread across the US

Unknown: Alright, my name is Elijah Johnson, I'm 24 years old, I'm a male and I currently reside in Minnesota

Olivia reads the conversation as she talks to the male, writing down the information he was giving her

It seemed he currently resided in Minnesota, a pretty desolate area that doesn't have a large population, well compared to the rest of the US

Minnesota was a long trip away so they wouldn't be able to make the trip for that

"I might have to do a video call with him, since he doesn't live close by, I'm sure he would not mind that"

Olivia mentions as Sophia nods her head with a slight hum coming out

Olivia then turns back to her phone to continue the conversation

Olivia: Thank you for your cooperation, it is greatly Appreciated, since you reside in Minnesota I will not Be able to meet up with you in person, a video call willHave to do, is this alright with you?

Elijah Johnson: yes that works perfectly, I'm available any day, so whatever fits your schedule I am fine with that

Olivia: How does tomorrow sound? We can do the late afternoon to make it easier for the both of us

Elijah Johnson: that works perfectly for me, see you then

Olivia smiles from this as she fist bumps the air with a 'yes'

Sophia chuckles from Olivia's change in mood

"Someones a happy camper now"

Olivia turned her head to sophia and nodded her head

This made her less uneasy, she would finally get to interview someone... and someone who dealt with this phenomenon, Olivia wanted to get to the bottom of it

Knowing more about this creature meant a better fighting chance if she were to ever encounter it, which she knew was unlikely

"I sure am, this interview is the start and key to us learning more about this creature, so of course im excited"

Olivia said as she looked back at the messages, seemingly happy still

"Im happy for you...i hope you keep that determination, cause i have a feeling this is going to be one wild ride"
