Chapter 102

Khai screamed at the pain, kicking against it's corpse as he desperately pulled at his leg to free himself.

The second rogue lurched at him and he gripped his sword instinctively, praying that it would pierce itself into his sword. Pain coursed through him, rendering his thoughts empty of any other plan of action.

Ana's face flashed through Khai's eyes and he took a deep breath, ready for what was coming. Regret washed through him as he realized the mess he was leaving her in.

He kicked at the corpse with all his might at one last attempt to release his leg when the weight suddenly lifted from over his leg and he snapped it back in a second, not letting the ripping pain deter him. But it was too late, the monster's claw was inches away from his face, it's nails ready to pierce his brain.

Suddenly a barrier shot up between the it's claws and his face, leaving him disoriented for a split second.
