Chapter Two: A Penny For Your thoughts

The skies were dark and rain was falling heavily now, though Raven persisted. She wanted to find her people and would search every mountain until they had been found. Though, she found herself feeling rather week. Using so much energy to travel as much as she was, had been taking a toll on her. Shawn had stayed behind with Penelope who was overjoyed to spend time with her loving father.

" I mean they couldn't have gone far.." Raven said to herself as she looked over the mountain peaks, trying to spot any signs of life. " And surely they've noticed the sky isn't falling anymore so they should be on the move, heading back home" She assumed as she continued looking.

" Wait" She said as she had taken notice of a small trail of smoke in the distance, clung the side of one of the far mountains in front of her. " I hope this you" Raven said as she teleported as close as she could to the smoke but stayed far enough back to keep safe. She needed to investigate things before she just went into what could possibly be a trap made by vampires. Though, Vampires had asserted their dominance already and would most likely not need a trap.

As she squinted to see what the cause of the smoke was, she noticed a giant troll that was all too familiar to her. She lept through the snow covered ground and greeted him with relief. " Gorgo! " she smiled as the giant Troll turned to her. " Raven? It's good to see you! " Gorgo pulled Raven up to him and hugged her gently before placing her back down in the snow.

" Are your people doing well? " Raven asked, seeing the other trolls stomping around happily in the snow. They had made a huge encampment here that was almost the entire size of their home.

" Yes of course. We are doing splendid, just cold..and hungry...and cold..and hungry " he said in a depressive tone. " Well you guys can go back now. The sky is no longer falling and everything has returned to normal" Raven assured him but he did not seem so sure. " What about the Vampires?" He said, having remembered seeing a giant cloud of them. Raven explained what had happen and then proceeded to say " But they disappeared after that. They haven't been seen since." Raven had been worried about the lack of Vampires but knew that they couldn't be fought in the cold. Everyone would need to return to the towns in case they ever had returned so they could put up a proper fight. But whilst the trolls were a strong and proud people, they did not exactly like confrontation. If they could avoid it, they would try their best to. And Raven knew that, but she also knew they would be allies if needed.

" We will return home. We have missed it greatly. And I thank you for coming to let us know that we could. We are eternally grapeful for you Raven! " Gorgo smiled.

" You are more than welcome. But I do have to ask, have you ran into the witches up here? Have you seen any of them? They're completely absent from the Kingdom and have not returned since the sky stopped falling. And I would be lying if I said that I wasn't a bit concerned.." Raven confessed.

" Actually, a majority of them did join us when we came up here. They had already been here for a little and had not had any provisions. So we took them in" Gorgo explained. " Some died though. They got injured and were buried. But we can let them know to come back as well! " he assures Raven who smiled from the relief of stress that she had been under. " You are a life saver Gorgo" Raven hugged him tightly before heading back home to Shawn and Penelope.

Kara and Gabriel had traveled to Shawn and Ravens by this point, and were informing Shawn of what they were intending to do about the Witches when Raven appeared in the room. " Okay Shawn so the witches are fine they are- " She notices Kara and Gabriel in the room and begins to tear up and runs to them, hugging them tightly. " Oh I'm so happy for you two!!" She squealed in excitement and she squeezed them tightly. " Thank you? " Kara laughed as Gabriel struggled to breath with her grip.

" So tell me, how does it feel? " Raven questioned as she sat down in a chair, tucking her hands under her chin. " How does what feel? " Gabriel asked as he and Kara took a seat across from her.

" Being together.." Raven asks, growing more excited by the second.

" Well we - " Shawn pops out of the bedroom with Penelope " Did you make babies yet?" Shawn's question earns a glare from Raven.

" Well..we have talked about it. And we do want to start trying..we just think we should give it some time first" Kara answers which catches Shawn's attention. " Why? When has anything that has happened so far not come from rushing into things" Shawn calls to them which makes all three of them glare at him. " What? I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Look how it has worked out in the long run. You two are together now, shit in the Underworld has finally calmed down. Now would be the best time to start trying " Shawn made some valid points but Kara and Gabriel had wanted to enjoy some more time together and introduce themselves together to the people before bringing a child into the mix. " Well..we still have show ourselves to the Kingdom and hopefully get a good reception with it. And then, we can start trying but we want to have a wedding first as well" Kara explains, taking Gabriel's hand into hers.

" Well I've got another question. What was with the glowing stuff back in the fight with Aurora? That seemed kind of different. I was curious about it " Kara and Gabriel looked at one another, trying to find the best answer to explain it. " Well..we aren't entirely sure ourselves. But we think it has something to do with the destiny stuff..but also maybe because a Lycan and Witch have never been mated before so maybe that's it? " In truth, they hadn't completely figured it out. They had tried, and whilst it wasn't negative, it was still a curiosity.

" Well I guess that is cool. But what about the whole blood thing? Kara couldn't bleed before and with Gabriel she could? That doesn't make any sense " Shawn was unloading question after question and they all three were completely at a loss for words.

" We don't know. We thought maybe it had something to do with the fact I've never really taken blood before..and so maybe that affected it. But we hadn't exchanged blood up until that point, so perhaps it is something to do with an age thing mixed with me being a hybrid? Like a phase Vampires go through or something.." Kara was trying to come up with answers to questions that she truly didn't have. She had wondered all this herself but none of it had made sense. And she honestly was just trying to enjoy her time with Gabriel. " Well that sounds weird. Maybe Raven should investigate a little more into it "

Raven turned back to Shawn. " Excuse me? Don't volunteer me for stuff that I don't know that I can even do" Raven couldn't believe what was getting into Shawn. " Well you normally volunteer yourself anyway"

This made Raven stand up and walk over to Shawn, getting right in his face. " What has gotten into you?" She demanded to know though Shawn simply shrugged.

" Look, I have spent the last few hours covered in baby poop. I'm not saying I don't love our daughter. But there has been..alot..of..poop" Shawn sighed which made Raven also sigh. " Yeah..maybe we have been a bit stressed with Penelope. I swear we haven't had a break since having her. I Love her to death but I would also just love some sleep" Raven knew how hard things had been with her but they had no one to watch over her so they could have a break for a few hours. They loved their daughter with all their heart, but being a parent was hard. And with as much help as they have had to lend to the world, they haven't had any time for one another since her birth.

" We could watch her " Kara suggested which made Gabriel look to Kara with concern. " What?" Kara shrugged. Kara felt like this would be a good idea since they had been talking about having kids recently. It would give them the right practice they needed.

" We could do it" Kara added which made Raven and Shawn smile, but Gabriel tense up a little.

" That would be great..we seriously could use a few hours and it wouldn't even be that bad. I mean yes, she poops alot. But other than that she is great and super easy to take care of " Raven pleads, almost begging them. Kara and Gabriel were like an Aunt and Uncle to Penelope so them getting to spend time with her would also be good for her development

" I mean I guess we could" Gabriel finally relents as Shawn passes Penelope off to Kara immediatly, who takes the baby in her arms, cradling her gently and looking back up to Shawn.

" Good luck" Shawn and Raven dissapears from the room, leaving Gabriel and Kara holding the baby. " What...just..happened..?" Gabriel asked, very confused as to what he had just witnessed. " I think we are baby sitting?" Kara chuckled nervously.

" You did volunteer us.." Gabriel sighed.
