Chapter One Hundred Twenty Six; The Well Rested

The night passed on without any further incident. And when morning had finally arrived, Penny awoke With the renewed sense of energy. She had heard of hang- overs but she was not experiencing one, which she was terribly thankful for. She remembered some of her conversations from the previous day but most were a blur to her now. She saw that Shawn was in her room and she called for him to wake up.

" Dad.." She shouted, and after a few repeated calls, he finally awake to see that Penny was looking much better than the night before. " No hangover? " he questioned.

" No Hangover" she chuckled.

It didn't take more than a few seconds before a knock arrived at the door. It was Keera who has woken up bright and early to provide the Father and Daughter with a good morning greeting and an offer for breakfast down in the hotel lobby where a chef from the inn has prepared a breakfast. It was nothing special, just a few strips of meat and 2 eggs each. But this would be more than enough for them.

All 3 went downstairs and enjoyed their breakfast together. They were mainly surprised that she had not experienced the hangover but found that the conversation shifted on what they would be doing next. They came to the conclusion that ultimately they were going to have to wait until Gabriel and Kara had grown up a bit before they can make their next move.

Penny wasn't sure why Ember had come to her however she assumed that Ember was holding everything down at the witch kingdom with ease and so they assumed they would be fine with waiting things out for the time being.

Though, Shawn did make it clear that he wanted them to leave the Lycan Kingdom in a few days. The reason being that he wanted to train Penny, and he refused to do so at the Lycan Kingdom where there could be massive damage. Keera was invited to attend the training with them and she took them up on the offer.

" I can't wait to see all the Night- Slashers can do. I've heard all the stories. Slashing the universe with ease, killing the unkillable..I can't wait" Keera squealed with excitement.

Shawn seemed to be confused at the legends however. " I don't know where any of that comes from. We have never slashed a universe before..I mean we could..but it's also kind of pointless to do. And we don't actually kill the unkillable..we simply imprison them and keep them locked away" Shawn explained which blew Keera's mind.

" So it is true? You have that level of power? " Keera questioned.

" I have that level of experience.." Shawn answered.

"But do you think I would ever be able to actually get to that level?" Penny knew she had potential but to ever reach the point where she could do those types of things, seemed completely unreal with her.

"No. You will be able to go far beyond anything I can do..I promise you that much" Shawn assured. " You are both a Night Slasher and a Witch. You are something that has never existed before and that means, you will be stronger on some level. But since this is new territory, that is why we must train. We need to figure out what you can actually do" Shawn places his hand on Penny's shoulder and smiles. " And see, the fact that you didn't die when I touched you, means you are already ahead of most people" He chuckled.

Shawn then turned to Keera and extended his hand out and Keera backed away, almost falling out of her seat to avoid his hand. " Don't worry, I wasn't actually gonna do it" Shawn laughed.

" I didn't wanna take the chance" Keera nervously laughed as she readjusted back into her chair.

" Well I'm definitely excited to start my training and see what I can do. I can't make any promises on how good I'm going to be or how strong I'll ever be but I'm going to do my best. And not mention that if Keera is there, I think I'll definitely improve" Penny smiled at Keera who was surprised.

" I might be a capable fighter but I'm pretty sure you are far more advanced at it than me" Keera was definitely capable at handling herself but Penny had already proven her strength against Keera and she had no way that she could have fought back.

" Don't sell yourself short. And who knows, maybe you'll get stronger too" Penny turned back to Shawn " Do you think she could get stronger by training with us? Like..would it be something achievable? "'

" Well she will either get stronger or she will die. It's quite a fun gamble!" Shawn chirped which concerned both Penny and Keera.

" I would prefer the non death" Keera laughed.

" Most people do" Shawn sighed. " So disappointing"

" As long as I get to spend time with Keera I'm going to be happy" Penny reached over for Keeras hand and squeezed it tightly in hee own.

" Are..you feeling well? " Keera questioned Penny, surprised by the strange gesture.

" Oh I'm more than fine. I feel so much better now after getting sleep. I'm excited to see what I can learn..and speaking of which, you said that mom is Alice? " Penny turned to Shawn who slumped down in his chair and tried to look away.

" Yeah.." Shawn mumbled.

" Well can you bring her here? " Penny questioned.

" I can't, It's very hard to explain right now but just trust me that she is fine. She is handling something that definitely has to be sorted out so you're just gonna have to give her a time. But if you can do that I promise that you're gonna get to see her again. Just have patience" Shawn continued to try and avoid eye contact.

" Hmm..alright then..I just..I want to see that she is safe" Penny was beginning to grow concerned at the way her dad was reacting to the questions. Was he hiding something?

" And you will, I promise. She isn't being kept from you and it's a long story. One that I am not going to tell until she gets back, okay? " Shawn Was doing his best to end the discussion here and luckily for the time being, Penny was willing to drop the subject.
