Chapter 41 - Funeral

This time they weren't in the round the room. Serefina, Bryan, Kyle, Rhys, Linda and all of the members of the Time Council stood in a graveyard beside a cathedral. The cathedral that Lady Dasera had mentioned.

She was standing beside Kyle and Rhys as Bryan made his way towards Grypsin's coffin. Did they actually keep the emblem thing inside a normal sized coffin? Bryan had said that the members of the Time Council added some kind of protective shield over their coffins so no one could steal their aura.

Bryan ran his hand over the coffin, whispering something too quietly to hear. Serefina wanted to run over and hug him and console him but this wasn't the time.

She looked for Linda standing really far away from the coffin. Her expression was blank. All the colour drained from her face. Serefina walked towards her and reached for her hand. Linda fliched at the touch but then warmed up to it.

"Serefina, I am alright," she said. "You don't have to worry."

"I don't really know how it feels like but my grandma does. She lost her daughter and I've observed her. You're not fine, I can feel it," Serefina noted. She didn't know when Linda dropped Serefina's hand and knelt down, sobbing tears of all the feelings burning inside.

Serefina knelt down beside her, rubbing her shoulder. A single tear dropped from her eye as well. Everytime she saw someone losing their loved ones, her heart sank at the thought of losing Grandma Hannah.

What was the point of her life turning upside down? Everything was normal until she had that stupid dream. What question did Zophie asked that made the crystals break?

Linda stopped herself from crying any longer and wiped her face.

"Serefina, can I talk to her?" Rhys asked appearing in front of them. Serefina nodded and walked towards Kyle.

"We'll find her," Kyle whispered.

"I know, we will," Serefina agreed.

Bryan stood up and stepped back. The coffin glowed with a shade of green. In a matter of seconds it burried itself inside.

"Let the time help the spirit rest in peace," said Solemn.

Serefina saw Bryan walking towards Weswill.

Bryan's Pov (I needed to add it here)

"Your Highness," Weswill bowed. "Is something wrong?

"Are you okay, Weswill?" I asked. "You and Grypsin were really close, right?"

"Yes. To be honest, it's been pretty rough. But I'll be fine. I just...need a little time to take it all in."

I kept a hand on Weswill's shoulder. "Sometimes you have to let it all out. Take your time." I sighed. "I wanted to invite you to my pre-coronation ball this weekend."

"It'll be my honor to come, Your Highness."

"And don't tell the others, I don't want them feel hurt because I can't invite all of you. It'll create suspicion, you know?"

"Of course. I am really happy for you."

"Though I am not sure about anything. It just doesn't feel right. It's what my Big Brother deserved after all."

"Your Highness, I never knew your brother but I can tell he was a good person. On the other hand, you, Your Highness are the true heir in my eyes. You think about everyone else, even when you're the one in danger. You deserve to be the Crowned Prince. And time wants it too. You'll be a great king one day and I see that very clearly."

"Thank you. We've gone through a lot together Weswill. And even if I do become the king one day. I want you to be by my side in Timezium."

"I'll be honored."

I looked at Serefina talking to Kyle.

"And you did choose a very nice girl," he said.

"I didn't choose her. She was the one who chose me and I am trying my best to be worthy of her."

Back to Serefina's Pov

"You know there's another idea. Me and Bryan were not trying to bring this up till there was an emergency but I think it's time now," Kyle said.

Serefina looked at Kyle, puzzled. "What is it?"

"Well there's a plant named Bhohara and it tells you the past. It can show you certain memories that are hidden in your mind or of someone you know. "

"So that means I can go through a hidden memory of my grandma more like where she went a few days ago?"

"Yeah, but..."

"But what?"

"It depends which door your mind will choose. The doors can be of anyone's. Can be mine or Bryan's or yours as well."

"Will you allow if it was accidentally yours?"

"Of course. But that's not what I am worried about."

"My condolences," someone said. Serefina turned to see...

A woman in red.

Not just any woman.

A familiar one.

No. Serefina knew her.

Diana Gracy.

Her mom.
