She hid all of these thoughts, however, and simply sighed. "I pray to the Triternal for their blessing."
Syvia shook her head. "The continent will prosper. That is all that matters."
Above all things, Syvia Hellfryne was a Princess and she was sensible like a Princess. This was her duty. Nothing else mattered.
"Nonsense." Verinia took her sister by the shoulders and met her eyes. "You deserve to be happy. Allow me to take the burden of service from you, alright? You don't have to do anything you don't want to do."
"And you? Will you find happiness?"
Verinia was completely speechless.
She had been devoted to the task of raising her siblings for so long that the thought of happiness was trivial and nearly unwelcome to her.
She was happy if the continent was at peace and safe. As long as Halen took his rightful place and all was well, there was nothing to fret for.
