Chapter 1 Introduction

Emerald's POV

"Ember is that what you call a punch? You are no better than some street fighter" My trainer said as I threw a punch at him and he dodged it easily.

"You are my trainer not my boss!" I yelled, annoyed at his behavior. I punched toward his direction but he again dodged it.

"Okay, then don't expect you can ever beat me" trainer said leaving his position

"Wait! I'm not done yet" I said and he turned to me again

"What do you wan-" before he could complete the sentence I threw a punch on his face knocking him out.

Huh-uh. I won.

"Ember dear" Mr Wayne spoke with a sigh as he walked inside the gym. "you have more important things to do, you should be focusing on your classes and if you still have some time then help me taking care of the business, you should not waste your time like this"

I dramatically rolled my eyes. "Mr Wayne, Would you mind leaving me alone for some time, I don't want to talk to anyone" I said while removing my boxing gloves.

I said to My father's manager. Alfred Wayne. He's one of my father's most trusted man, and my legal guardian after my parents death.

"Emerald, as your only guardian, it's my responsibility to keep you on right path and even if you don't want to, I can't just leave you specially when you aren't even mature enough and behaving like a spoiled child" he said while glaring at me.

"Mr Wayne" I spoke, "Please stop blackmailing, you already know that you can't do anything about me, so please don't waste your time" I walked out of the gym, leaving him behind.

"What is this behavior princess, it's not a way to talk to your elders" Out of nowhere, Louise stood in front of me, crossing his arms against his chest, blocking my way.

"If you don't like it, then why don't you guys just leave me alone and specially you Louisee" I said, pushing him aside.

"Now Princess, we don't talk to friends like that. Do we?" Louise said as he blocked my way again.

"No we are not! And you are not my friend, Lui. You know that"

Louise Ivanov, son of Matthew Ivanov. My father, Francesco Ivanov's younger brother. Basically, my cousin.

Even though, my father was older, Matthew married first as a result Louise is a few years older than I. He's around 25 whereas I'm still a minor.

"Yeah he isn't but I'm" William approached me, "I can't believe that our princess has grown up so fast" as he continued.

I sighed. Not again.

William white, my father's friend, Andrew White's son. He's Louise best friend. I've known him since I can remember. I didn't get the reason, behind there sudden appearance, today. Like, they always got some stuff and all to do.

"Yeah, that day when my uncle and aunt died, she was only six, but we didn't think that you would forgot your parents that easily" Luhan mindlessly started the topic, I hate the most.

When he started ranting, my eyes went behind him. I saw daniel coming toward us. He is Daniel Bennett, my life saviour. Mr Wayne hired him as my manager to help me with taking care of my schedule.

He saw what was going on, and for a second, he stared into my eyes, silently asking if I wanted to escape. I slowly nodded my head as a yes.

"Hey guys" nodding his head in acknowledgement, he finally spoke with a friendly smile, making them to look at him.

"Hello Mr Wayne" Daniel greeted them "Mr Ivanov, Mr White. How are you?"

"We are good, Mr Bennett. How are you? I hope Ember isn't giving you a hard time" Mr Wayne spoke giving me the side-eye.

Daniel chuckled at his statement.

"No Mr Wayne, Ms Ivanov's on her best behaviour" he stated and finally looked at me.

"Ms Wayne, Would you mind accompanying me? There's something we need to talk about"

"Yeah, sure Mr Bennett" I said and walked away with him, without looking back.

When Louise reminded me of that incident, my blood boiled.

A little girl, around six, playing with her parents, they're happy together, maybe it was one of the happiest moment of her life.

but suddenly everything changed, some people suddenly appeared out of nowhere and shot her parents in front of her, they did try to shoot her too, but the guards saved her.

Just like that Francesco Ivanov, one of the richest person in the world died.

And the little girl was to shocked to say anything. she didn't talk, she didn't cry, she just kept staring at her parents dead body. She couldn't do anything about it. She couldn't save them.

According to the Ivanov's legacy, she's the only heir of their businesses, shares, assets and all the property, everything will be transferred to her once she turned eighteen, till then everything will be handled by her father's manager, Alfred wayne. if anything happens to her before that, all the property will be given to charitable trusts and government.

After that incident, Alfred wayne, her father's most trusted man, took care of the work and Emerald, as her legal guardian since her father never trusted any other relatives.

And her uncle Matthew Ivanov, was too busy outside the country, to take another responsibility.

While I was in my thoughts, I felt something on my shoulder. I shrugged my thoughts away and saw Daniel tapping on my shoulder.

"Hey? Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yep. So, what's up?" I asked him, changing the topic.

"The head of UCA is in the town, and wants to meet you as soon as possible, I got a call from his secretary" Daniel stated.

"Alright, I'll deal with it" I said and nodding his head he went away. When Daniel informed me about the meeting, I started thinking, why I wanted to do this. This whole UCA thing. Maybe the answer was simple, It's only because I just want to solve my parents death's mystery, that who killed my parents, and why?
